TRIPTYKON - 'Requiem' (Live at Roadburn)

Some time ago, I made a post about Triptykon's upcoming live release - ' Requiem'. Today, I'm coming to You with a review of that album... Let's get right to it. 'Requiem' vinyl release contains two posters, an orange LP, DVD, and a concert booklet. The album provides us with outstanding tracks on Side A: 'Rex Irae' and 'Grave Eternal part 1', Side B: 'Grave Eternal part 2', 'Winter'.
'Requiem' surprised me, since I thought that this will be more like Satyricon's 'Live at The Opera' - I thought that the band would perform their regular tracks with just the addition of orchestral instruments. This was a huge surprise but I wasn't disappointed. I like the fact that we got to experience Tom's instrumental compositions, discover a different side of his musical face as well as experience the story he wanted to show us through the music. 'Requiem' shows us a whole different world, made out of Swiss nature, cold winters, and Triptykon's love for music. Hearing such stunning tracks backed up by an orchestra and Sara Heraghi's breathtaking vocals, You can almost feel as if You've entered another dimension of music. Of course, I missed heavy riffs, fast drums, and growling... but sometimes it is a good idea to listen to something different than your regular playlist.
I think that each Triptykon fan should consider buying or at least streaming this album on-line since it is a great deal of mood-influencing, orchestral music which can give You a different view upon the metal world...

Jakiś czas temu napisałam post na temat nadchodzącego wydania Triptykon - „Requiem”. Dzisiaj przychodzę do was z recenzją tego albumu. Album „Requiem” zawiera dwa plakaty, pomarańczowego winyla, DVD i broszurę koncertową. Album zawiera wybitne utwory; na stronie A: „Rex Irae” i „Grave Eternal part 1”, Side B: „Grave Eternal part 2”, „Winter”.
„Requiem” poważnie mnie zaskoczyło, ponieważ myślałam, że będzie bardziej jak „Live at The Opera” Satyricona - uważałam, że zespół wykona swoje regularne utwory z dodatkiem orkiestry. To była wielka niespodzianka, ale nie zawiodłam się. Podoba mi się to, że mogliśmy doświadczyć kompozycji instrumentalnych Toma, odkryć drugą stronę jego muzyki, a także doświadczyć historii, którą chciał nam przekazać. „Requiem” pokazuje nam zupełnie inny świat, stworzony ze szwajcarskiej przyrody, mroźnych zim i miłości Triptykon'a do muzyki. Słysząc tak wspaniałe utwory, wspierane przez orkiestrę i zapierający dech w piersiach głos Sary Heraghi, możesz niemal poczuć się, jakbyś wszedł w inny wymiar muzyki. Oczywiście brakowało mi ciężkich riffów, szybkich bębnów i growlu... ale czasami dobrym pomysłem jest przesłuchanie czegoś innego niż nasza zwykła playlista.
Myślę, że każdy fan Triptykon powinien rozważyć zakup lub przynajmniej przesłuchanie tego albumu on-line, ponieważ jest to dużo wpływającej na nastrój, orkiestrowej muzyki, która może dać ci inne spojrzenie na metalowy świat i jego twórczość.
