SEVEROTH - 'When The Night Falls…' LP

   I admit that I came across this band and album completely by accident. I liked the cover very much. Forest, night, fog, that is all the atmosphere I love for my taste. I fired this CD and I was not disappointed! Severoth kidnapped my body and souls to Roztocze in Ukraine. One man is responsible for this music project, multi-instrumentalist Illia Rafalskyi from Ukraine. How good this album is, I will write in a moment. I just want to point out that this music project captivated me so much that I already put it in number one position when it comes to Atmospheric Black Metal from Ukraine.

  What impresses me the most about this album is that the whole material flows smoothly from one track to another. There is also no point in judging individual tracks on this album because each track has something extraordinary about it, and when you listen to all of this material, it all blends together into a perfect whole. The artist on this album also perfectly recreated the cover of this album with his music. The music contained on this disc is exactly like the image of this long-playing album. Listening to each piece, I felt that my soul is really in the middle of some forest in Ukraine, around the mountain, night slowly falls and very intense snowflakes begin to fall, which slowly covers the forest and the ground. The harmony and intensity of the use of synthesizers, keys, and ambient inserts are also great here, it is very even - there are neither too few nor too many of them, but they are used just right. The atmosphere of mysticality, a sense of winter, snow, and cold all pour out of this album, so it will also be a great plus for lovers of such climates in music. Besides all of that, the riffs and the melody are also very well matched with the rest and are really interesting. The only downside is maybe only the vocals on this album, but not quite so. The vocals are very weak in some places and sound a bit like noise and are clearly behind the other instruments, as if in the background, but at the same time, it also gives this disc even more atmosphere, because it also reminds me of winter.

  In summary, if you love black metal in which you can feel nature, and the season of winter, this is the album for you. Additionally, Severoth is about to start releasing his next new album. They have already released one track from the new release for listening and after it, you can hear that it can be a really strong and good album. This project has great potential.

  Przyznam, że na ten projekt muzyczny oraz album trafiłem zupełnie przypadkowo. Spodobała mi się bardzo okładka. Las, noc, mgła czyli wszystkie klimaty jakie uwielbiam pod mój gust. Odpaliłem tą płytę i nie zawiodłem się! Severoth porwał moje ciało i dusze do miejsca gdzie są lasy Roztocza znajdujące się na Ukrainie. Za ten projekt muzyczny odpowiedzialny jest jeden człowiek, multiinstrumentalista Illia Rafalskyi pochodzący z Ukrainy. Jak bardzo dobry jest to album, zaraz właśnie napiszę. Pragnę tylko zaznaczyć, że ten projekt muzyczny tak mnie urzekł, że już teraz stawiam go na pozycji numer jeden jeśli chodzi o Atmosferyczny Black metal z Ukrainy.  

  Co mnie najbardziej zachwyca w tym albumie, to chyba to, że cały materiał doskonale płynnie przechodzi z jednego kawałka do drugiego. Nie ma też sensu oceniać poszczególnych kawałków na tej płycie, ponieważ każdy kawałek ma w sobie coś nie zwykłego, a gdy słucha się całości tego materiału to wszystko się ze sobą łączy w idealną całość. Artysta na tym albumie także doskonale odtworzył swoją muzyką okładkę tej płyty. Muzyka zawarta na tym krążku, jest dokładnie taka jak obraz  tej długo grającej płyty. Słuchając każdego kawałka czułem się, że moja dusza jest naprawdę w środku jakiegoś lasu na Ukrainie, dookoła góry, powoli zapada noc i zaczynają padać bardzo intensywne płatki śniegu, które powoli przykrywają  las i ziemię. Świetna jest też tutaj harmonia i intensywność użycia syntezatorów, klawiszy oraz wstawek ambientowych,  jest ona bardzo wyrównana – nie ma ich ani za mało, ani za dużo, tylko są użyte w sam raz. Klimat mistyczności, poczucia zimy, śniegu i chłodu aż wylewa się z tego albumu, więc też to będzie doskonałym plusem dla miłośników właśnie takich klimatów w muzyce. Poza tym wszystkim riffy, oraz melodię są również bardzo dobrze dopasowane z całą resztą i są naprawdę ciekawe. Jedynie może na minus zasługuję na tym albumie tylko wokal, ale też nie aż tak do końca. Wokal miejscami bardzo słabo słychać i brzmi trochę jak szum i jest wyraźnie z tyłu za pozostałymi instrumentami, jest jakby w tle, ale właśnie jednocześnie nadaje też jeszcze bardziej klimatu temu krążkowi, ponieważ kojarzy mi się z zimą.  

  Podsumowując, jeśli uwielbiasz black metal w którym z melodii aż czuć naturę i przyrodę oraz porę roku zimę, jest to album właśnie dla ciebie. Dodatkowo Severoth właśnie niedługo zabiera się za wydanie swojego kolejnego nowego albumu. Wypuścili już do odsłuchu jeden utwór z nowego wydawnictwa i już po nim słychać, że może to być naprawdę mocna i dobra płyta. Ten projekt ma naprawdę ogromny potencjał.

 SVARTBLOD - 'Perception Of Torment'

A Sweden-based duo, made of Hecate (drums, bass) and Agramon (vocals, guitars) has been performing the dark and evil genre of black metal for four years now. Three singles, one EP, and a 2019's LP stand strong in the underground black metal community and still prove that young bands/ projects can make a decent dreadful material. 

SVARTBLOD has released its first LP in October 2019, and as this is their latest release, I decided to review it, after their request to be featured in the MetalHellvolution zine. 

Let's see, what ''Perception Of Torment'' has in itself, what ingredients make it sound so good, and which feeling will be present while listening to it. Maybe, today will be the day in which you'll discover your new favorite underground black metal band... 

Let's jump into the review now, shall we? 

The extremely dark, slow, and evil guitar riffs are mostly a background in the release. They influence the mood, add a certain darkness to the whole album, but they are certainly not the main character here. Bass guitar is nearly not noticeable, but at some points, you can tell out its existence and see that it is used here to collaborate with the instruments, rather than highlight certain parts of the music. The drums are rather slow, repetitive, and make you feel that gloomy and dark sound in your soul. They wonderfully get along with the rest of the instruments and create a collaborative whole, that works here as a background to the very deep, full of evil vocals. 

As I said, everything besides the vocals was the background, meanwhile, they were more of the main character on that release. They were performed greatly, with the deepest care of each detail and note. The vocals work there as an attention grabber because they are rather not that common on the black metal albums. They are also extremely mood influential, they transfer you to this dark, sad world of endless loneliness. You can almost feel as if you're living in this world continuously while listening to this release. 

I have to say that as much as liked the riffs, the album was not done musically perfectly. Some things didn't go well together, and the drums sounded too repetitive. I think that if the creators would vary them a bit, then the whole album would sound a hell better. I have to say tho, that the emotional side of the release was done perfectly, with no mistakes. It influenced the mood perfectly and you could almost touch the aura of sadness and loneliness. It was definitely focused on the mood, and emotional side, to allow the listened to discover a deeper meaning of music, other than just the riffs and vocals. 

I think that this album is a strong one in the metal underground. Additionally, the band is a quite talented one and definitely has a lot of potential to become masters at their craft. 

I strongly recommend you to listen to this release, if you're into underground black metal, that mostly focuses on the mood and imagery, which they implement in your brain with the tracks.

SVARTBLOD wydało swój pierwszy LP w październiku 2019 roku, a ponieważ jest to ich najnowsze wydawnictwo, zdecydowałam się je zrecenzować, po ich prośbie o zamieszczenie w zinie MetalHellvolution.

Zobaczmy, co ma w sobie „Perception Of Torment”, jakie składniki sprawiają, że brzmi tak dobrze i jakie uczucie będzie towarzyszyło słuchaniu. Może dzisiaj nadejdzie dzień, w którym odkryjesz swój nowy ulubiony undergroundowy zespół black metalowy ...

Przejdźmy teraz do początku recenzji.

    Ekstremalnie mroczne, powolne i złe gitarowe riffy stanowią głównie tło tego wydawnictwa. Wpływają na nastrój, dodają całemu albumowi pewnego mroku, ale na pewno nie są tutaj głównym bohaterem. Gitara basowa jest prawie niezauważalna, ale w niektórych momentach można stwierdzić jej istnienie i zobaczyć, że jest tu używana do współpracy z instrumentami, a nie do podkreślania pewnych części muzyki. Bębny są raczej powolne, powtarzalne i sprawiają, że czujesz ten ponury i mroczny dźwięk w swojej duszy. Wspaniale dogadują się z resztą instrumentów i tworzą wspólną całość, która działa tutaj jako tło dla bardzo głębokiego, pełnego zła wokalu.

Jak powiedziałam, wszystko oprócz wokali było tłem, tymczasem one były bardziej głównym bohaterem tego wydawnictwa. Wykonane zostały świetnie, z największą dbałością o każdy szczegół i nutę. Wokale przyciągają uwagę, ponieważ raczej nie są tak powszechne na black metalowych albumach. Ich styl jest dośc rzadkim zjawiskiem.  Mają też niesamowity wpływ na nastrój, przenoszą Cię w ten mroczny, smutny świat niekończącej się samotności. Słuchając tego wydawnictwa, możesz niemal czuć się jakbyś ciągle żył na tym dziwnym, mrocznym i smutnym świecie.

Muszę powiedzieć, że choć riffy podobały mi się, album nie był wykonany muzycznie perfekcyjnie. Niektóre rzeczy nie pasowały do ​​siebie, a perkusja brzmiała zbyt powtarzalnie. Myślę, że gdyby twórcy trochę je urozmaicili, to cały album brzmiałby o piekło lepiej. Muszę jednak powiedzieć, że emocjonalna strona wydawnictwa została wykonana perfekcyjnie, bez błędów. Doskonale wpłynęło ono na nastrój i niemal można było dotknąć aury smutku i samotności. Był zdecydowanie skupiony na nastroju i stronie emocjonalnej, aby pozwolić słuchaczom odkryć głębsze znaczenie muzyki, inne niż tylko riffy i wokale.

Myślę, że ten album jest tzryma się mocno i stabilnie w metalowym podziemiu. Dodatkowo, zespół jest dość utalentowany i zdecydowanie ma duży potencjał, aby zostać mistrzami w swoim rzemiośle.

Zdecydowanie polecam posłuchać tego wydawnictwa, jeśli interesujesz się undergroundowym black metalem, który skupia się głównie na nastroju i wyobrażeniach, które wprowadzają do twojego mózgu wraz z utworami.

WOLVHAMMER 'The Obsidian Plains' (2011) - Back To The Past

    WOLVHAMMER is a twelve-year-old American band, that performs Blackened Sludge Metal. With four full-length albums featured in their impressive discography, I will review today a masterpiece from 2011 - 'The Obsidian Plains'. With seven tracks marking the time of 44 minutes, the album delivers top-notch material, that will provide you a good amount of creatively-arranged evil tracks and a handful of matching feelings and emotions.

Funnily enough, I came upon a photo, of apparently a WOLVHAMMER fan wearing the band's shirt, and I wondered what band is that. I shook up the metal underground to find the name of the band since my shitty eyes couldn't read the logo - and they didn't get me what I needed. Obviously, if you want to find something, then you have to do it yourself. I found the band's name, I studied their discography and now I'm coming to you with another Back To The Past review. 

Ladies and gentlemen - WOLVHAMMER!!!

    Aggressive, evil, and dark guitar riffs come at you right away, they grab you, throw onto the wall and bang your head against it. Those riffs are also very catchy, mood influential, they also last throughout the whole album to ensure you, that you will get a huge amount of creatively-arranged music that flows from them. In addition, they cooperate perfectly with dreadful drums. They are performed in a brutal and very fast kind of style, that shows us the extremely dangerous, important, and evil side of being a war-machine, called drummer. His talent and fast pace, line up perfectly with the usage of bass guitar - it highlights specific points in the drums' parts, and also, it helps to dive deeper into several guitar notes in the talentful avalanche of riffs.  

All those instruments line up and complete the vocals, which are deep, dark, and evil - my most favorite sounding style of singing. The vocals gracefully will kick your ass while telling us a dark story contained in the lyrics.

The feelings are next - well, from what I felt, I was extremely energized after listening to the album. 'The Obsidian Plains'  brought that evil and dark imagery connected with a rather not so dark sound at all times - I liked that change. You could feel the darkness, but it wasn't overwhelming, it was surrounding you rather than suffocating you. 

    Each track, each riff, note, or scream had its own meaning in that release. Everything was rather different, more creative in order to collaborate with each other perfectly and provide us listening-worthy music. I think that WOLVHAMMER is a band that creates new and unknown with a pinch of the old-school music style, but in order to grasp the idea of their music, you would have to dive deeper into their discography and not stop only after one album. Overall, this album, as well as their full discography, is extremely worthy listening to - especially because this is a very decent release that provides you a hell of a good amount of music.

Z czterema pełnometrażowymi albumami zawartymi w ich imponującej dyskografii, dziś zrecenzuję arcydzieło z 2011 roku - „The Obsidian Plains”. Z siedmioma utworami oznaczającymi czas 44 minut, album dostarcza najwyższej klasy materiał, który zapewni ci sporą ilość twórczo zaaranżowanych mrocznych utworów oraz garść pasujących do tego uczuć i emocji.

Co zabawne, natknęłam się na zdjęcie fana WOLVHAMMER w koszulce z tą nazwą i zaczęłam się zastanawiać, co to za zespół. Potrząsnęłam metalowym podziemiem, aby znaleźć nazwę zespołu, ponieważ moje gówniane oczy nie mogły odczytać logo - i nie dostałam tego, czego potrzebowałam. Oczywiście, jeśli chcesz coś znaleźć, musisz to zrobić sam(a). Znalazłam nazwę zespołu, przestudiowałam ich dyskografię i teraz przychodzę do was z kolejną recenzją Back To The Past.

Szanowni Państwo - WOLVHAMMER !!!

    Agresywne, złe i mroczne gitarowe riffy spadają na ciebie od razu, chwytają cię, rzucają na ścianę i uderzają o nią twoją głową. Te riffy są również bardzo chwytliwe, wpływające na nastrój, trwają przez cały album, aby zapewnić słuchaczom, że dostaną oni ogromną ilość twórczo zaaranżowanej muzyki. Poza tym doskonale współpracują z mrocznymi bębnami. Wykonane są one w brutalnym i bardzo szybkim stylu, który pokazuje nam niezwykle niebezpieczną, ale ważną i mroczną stronę bycia machiną wojenną, zwaną perkusistą. Jego talent i szybkie tempo doskonale współgrają z użyciem gitary basowej - która podkreśla określone punkty partii perkusji, a także pomaga zagłębić się w kilka gitarowych nut w pełnej talentu lawinie riffów.

Wszystkie te instrumenty działaja razem świetnie i dopełniają wokale, które są głębokie, mroczne i złe - czyli mój najbardziej ulubiony styl śpiewania. Wokal z wdziękiem skopie ci tyłek, opowiadając jednocześnie mroczną historię zawartą w tekście utworów.

Następnie przychodzą uczucia - cóż, z tego co poczułam, po przesłuchaniu albumu byłam niesamowicie pobudzona. „The Obsidian Plains” przyniosło złą i mroczną wizję, połączoną z raczej niezbyt mrocznym dźwiękiem - podobała mi się ta zmiana. Mogłeś poczuć ciemność, ale nie była ona przytłaczająca, raczej otaczała cię, a nie dusiła.

    Każdy utwór, każdy riff, nuta czy krzyk miały w tym albumie swoje znaczenie. Wszystko było raczej inne, bardziej kreatywne, aby doskonale ze sobą współpracować i zapewnić nam muzykę godną słuchania. Myślę, że WOLVHAMMER to zespół, który tworzy nowy i nieznany do końca gatunek metalu, ze szczyptą oldschoolowego stylu muzycznego, ale żeby uchwycić ideę ich muzyki, należałoby zagłębić się w dyskografię i nie poprzestać tylko na jednym albumie . Ogólnie rzecz biorąc, to wydanie, podobnie jak cała dyskografia, jest niezwykle godne posłuchania - zwłaszcza, że ​​jest to bardzo przyzwoite wydawnictwo, które dostarcza piekielnej ilości świetnej muzyki.

Przesłuchajcie WOLVHAMMER, wspierajcie ich muzykę i sakralną sztukę dark metalu.

 PALE DIVINE – ‘Consequence Of Time’ LP

  Today I am also in touch with the band that I am reviewing for the first time. It is a formation of Pale Divine - a band from the United States representing the musical trend from the border of Doom / Heavy metal. Although personally, I do not listen to much doom metal, because it is simply not to my taste, but the band Pale Divine, in my opinion, deserves an examination of their work, to which I cordially invite you to get to know it. 

  Already at the very beginning of this album, the sound of this band reminded me of hearing Deep Purple in a doom metal version. Characteristic riffs as well as keyboards and Hammonds did their job here and gave the atmosphere just like with Deep Purple music. On the other hand, the vocals on this album reminded me a bit of the legendary (unfortunately that has already passed away) vocalist and guitarist Mark Shelton from Manilla Road. In the beginning, basically, when I played the album 'Consequence Of Time by Pale Divine, I thought that I would be dealing with a very slow doom, but it didn't happen. The band manages their music very well between the two genres Heavy and Doom metal. Unfortunately, most of the tracks on this release, and the repetition of some riffs and guitar melodies, make the album a big drawback for me, because there is nothing here that would grab me and attract me strongly to the music of this band. However, as a whole, this album is quite pleasant to listen to, and for fans of doom metal mixed with the heavy metal it can be a really good album and you may like it. Additionally, I must praise this band for directing their music to their style. The musicians achieved their characteristic atmosphere on this album, and they wove very interesting elements of mysticism into their work. After listening to this album for the first time, I liked the last track on this album the most, which is 'Saints Of Fire'. A track in which we have a very interesting and mystical vocal line, and probably the best melody and guitar riffs from the entire content of this album. At least, in my opinion, they are the best. 

 Summing up, if you love these two genres of metal - Doom and Heavy metal, then Pale Divine can enchant you and take you to your music. I personally do not like doom metal, as I wrote above, but I have respect that the band plays at a very high level, has very well-mixed songs and this music can be really enjoyed.

  Dzisiejszą styczność z zespołem, który recenzuję również mam po raz pierwszy. Jest to formacja Pale Divine – pochodząca ze Stanów Zjednoczonych kapela reprezentująca nurt muzyczny z pogranicza Doom /Heavy metalu. Chociaż osobiście nie słucham dużo doom metalu, bo po prostu nie jest on zbytnio pod moje gusta, to jednak zespół Pale Divine według mnie zasługuję na zbadanie ich twórczości, do której serdecznie zapraszam aby ją poznać. 

  Już na samym starcie tego albumu, brzmienie tego zespołu skojarzyło mi się jakbym usłyszał Deep Purple w wersji doom metalowej. Charakterystyczne riffy, oraz klawisze i hammondy zrobiły tu swoje i dały taki klimat jak właśnie przy muzyce Purpli. Wokal natomiast na tej płycie skojarzył mi się trochę jak u zmarłego już niestety legendarnego wokalisty i gitarzysty Marka Sheltona z Manilli Road. Na początku generalnie gdy odpaliłem płytę ‘Consequence Of Time od Pale Divine myślałem, że będę miał do czynienia z bardzo powolnym doomem, a jednak tak się nie stało. Zespół bardzo dobrze operuję swoją muzyką pomiędzy dwoma gatunkami Heavy i Doom metalu. Większość kawałków niestety na tym wydawnictwie, oraz powtarzalność niektórych riffów i melodii gitarowych, sprawia, że album ma u mnie sporego minusa, ponieważ nie ma właśnie tutaj tego czegoś co by mnie porwało i przyciągnęło jakoś mocno do muzyki tego zespołu. Jednak jako całość tej płyty słucha się jej dość przyjemnie, a dla fanów doom metalu wymieszanego z heavy metalem może to być naprawdę dobra płyta i może się spodobać. Dodatkowo muszę pochwalić ten zespół, że ukierunkowuje swoją muzykę na swój styl. Muzycy osiągnęli na tym albumie swój charakterystyczny klimat, oraz wpletli bardzo ciekawie elementy mistycyzmu do swojej twórczości. Po moim pierwszym przesłuchaniu tej płyty, najbardziej spodobał mi się ostatni kawałek na tym albumie, czyli – ‘Saints Of Fire’ Utwór w którym mamy bardzo ciekawą i mistyczną linię wokalu, oraz chyba najlepsze melodię i riffy gitarowe z całej zawartości tego albumu. Przynajmniej według mnie i mojej opinii, są one najlepsze. 

   Podsumowując, jeśli kochasz te dwa gatunki metalu czyli Doom i Heavy metal, to Pale Divine swoją twórczością naprawdę może cię zaczarować i porwać do swojej muzyki. Ja osobiście nie przepadam za doom metalem, tak jak napisałem tu wyżej, ale mam szacunek do tego, że zespół gra na bardzo wysokim poziomie, ma bardzo dobrze zmiksowane utwory i ta muzyka może się naprawdę bardzo podobać.

AZEL'S MOUNTAIN - ' Wieczny Sen'

    Polish pagan black metal band that originates from Lower Silesia in Poland, and started its musical journey in 2013. With five evil-drawn men, AZEL'S MOUNTAIN has already created one self-titled EP (2014), and two full-lengths - 'Góra Milczenia' (2016) and 'Wieczny Sen' (2019).

Today, I will take a closer look at 'Wieczny Sen', its musical and technical sides, but most importantly - the mood and feelings side. 

The album contains seven polish language tracks that mark the time of 36 minutes - definitely not enough music for me... The titles are pretty simple, to allow you to easily see the hidden pagan story in each track; they're like book chapters' titles that highlight what each part will be about, but they don't give away the full story - in order to hear it, you have to listen to the full album, but if you want to understand it, well... then you would have to sit down with the lyrics, dive into the pagan metal world, and contemplate the meanings. The upfront titles, the band's mystic appearance, connect perfectly with the mischievous darkness that the cover art represents. The artwork was done by Kurojatka and shows us strictly related imagery to the times of paganism. It's dark blue colors, the white bright moon already set the lonely, cold pagan mood - that I extremely am fond of.

    The album starts with 'Burza' ('Storm'). The title already sets a dark, mystical and cold mood, but when you listen to the full album, you will get the entire set of feelings, pagan mood, and hidden meaning, all of which will slowly get into your life and make you study them closer, understand the feelings' origins by analyzing the entire album deeper. 

Throughout the whole release, you will notice a wonderful amount of creatively-arranged guitar riffs, that at some points sound like purely old-school black metal and all of sudden they convert to pagan black metal with a pinch of folk metal in the background. All these metal genres blend perfectly with each other and show the utter talent of the guitarist and the mixing staff, which allowed all those riffs to be a greatly coherent whole. Also, they work well with quite sophisticated drums. Besides the elegant sophistication, they also revealed a very valued by me characteristic, that is not to be too direct, or a senseless pounding without feelings included. They are a decently made aggression driven base, which provides a very strong background for all of the instruments. 

The bass guitar is hearable, but not as much as I would like it to be. It surely does a noticeable work, by underlining and pointing out the characteristics of each instrument.

Vocals, often being called an instrument as well, are done exceedingly well. They have that certain hurtful sound, which represents many anger or sadness related issues and emotions, contained in each track on 'Wieczny Sen'. They also blend perfectly with all the instruments, but thankfully, they're not trying to stand out or be the main character in the band. They rather are a mood-influential addition to the already musically perfect background.

I have mentioned the mood, so let's go with that now. In the very beginning, I said that the mood, or emotional side, is the most important to me. Well, I think that it is the most crucial characteristic of each release because you don't listen to it, just to judge if the guitars are ok, or if the drums don't have too much snare. You listen to pagan black metal to feel and understand what the band wanted to tell us, to see all the crucial matters that are included in the tracks, to also get yourself into that dark comfort zone, that at least to me, is everything that I need in each release. In my opinion, 'Wieczny Sen' and the band itself, allow you to get into that relaxing, comfortable black metal mood, which only the supporters of the genre will understand, it also allows you to release all the anger, sadness, or whatever feeling you have. That's how a proper black metal album should make you feel like, but besides that, it also should give you a hellish amount of decent music - and 'Wieczny Sen'  ticks all of those requirements.

    Overall, the album is a top-level release, which each polish pagan black metal fan should know. It provides you all the necessary feelings and visuals, and moreover, it gives you a huge amount of evil, dark and meaningful music. I hope that after my lengthy review, each of you will listen to the release, or even check out the entire discography of AZEL'S MOUNTAIN.

    Polski pogański zespół black metalowy wywodzący się z Dolnego Śląska w Polsce, który swoją muzyczną podróż rozpoczął w 2013 roku. Z pięcioma złowrogimi mężczyznami, AZEL'S MOUNTAIN stworzył już jedną EP-kę zatytułowaną (2014) oraz dwa albumy pełnometrażowe - „Góra Milczenia' (2016) i ' Wieczny Sen ' (2019).

Dziś przyjrzę się temu nowszemu albumowi, jego muzycznej i technicznej stronie, ale przede wszystkim nastrojowi i uczuciom.

Album zawiera siedem utworów w języku polskim, które wyznaczają czas 36 minut - zdecydowanie za mało jak dla mnie ... Tytuły są dość proste, aby łatwo móc zobaczyć ukrytą pogańską historię w każdym utworze; są one jak tytuły rozdziałów książek, które podkreślają, o czym będzie każda część, ale nie zdradzają całej historii - aby ją usłyszeć, musisz wysłuchać całego albumu, ale jeśli chcesz to zrozumieć no cóż ... wtedy musiałbyś usiąść z tekstami, zanurzyć się w pogańskim świecie metalu i kontemplować znaczenie. Krótkie i zrozumiałe tytuły, mistyczny image zespołu, doskonale łączą się z mroczną ciemnością, którą przedstawia okładka. Grafika została wykonana przez Kurojatkę i przedstawia nam obraz ściśle związany z czasem pogaństwa. Te ciemnoniebieskie kolory, biały jasny księżyc już wprowadziły mnie samotny, zimny pogański nastrój - który bardzo mi się spodobał.

    Album zaczyna się od utworu „Burza” („Storm”). Tytuł od początku wprawia w mroczny, mistyczny i zimny nastrój, ale dopiero słuchając całego albumu, dostaniesz końcowy zestaw uczuć, pełny pogański nastrój i wszystkie ukryte znaczenia, z których wszystko powoli wkroczy w Twoje życie i zmusi do bliższej interpretacji, aż w końcu zrozumiecie pochodzenie tych mistycznych uczuć, analizując głębiej album.

Przez całe wydawnictwo można zauważyć cudowną ilość twórczo zaaranżowanych gitarowych riffów, które w niektórych momentach brzmią jak czysto oldschoolowy black metal, i nagle przechodzą w pogański black metal ze szczyptą folk metalu w tle. Wszystkie te gatunki, doskonale się ze sobą łączą i pokazują nieskończony talent gitarzysty i ekipy mikserskiej, co pozwoliło tym wszystkim riffom stać się bardzo spójną całością. Dobrze współpracują one również z dość wyrafinowanymi bębnami. Poza eleganckim wyrafinowaniem perkusja ujawniła też bardzo cenioną przeze mnie cechę, czyli nie zbyt bezpośrednie, czy bezsensowne walenie w gary bez uczuć. Są one przyzwoicie wykonaną bazą napędzaną agresją, która stanowi bardzo mocne tło dla wszystkich instrumentów.

Słychać gitarę basową, ale nie tak bardzo, jak bym chciała. Z pewnością robi zauważalną pracę, podkreślając i wskazując cechy każdego instrumentu.

Wokal, często nazywany również instrumentem, jest wykonany wyjątkowo dobrze. Mają one ten pewien bolesny dźwięk, który reprezentuje wiele problemów i emocji związanych ze złością czy smutkiem, zawartym w każdym utworze na „Wiecznym Śnie”. Doskonale komponują się ze wszystkimi instrumentami, ale na szczęście nie starają się wyróżniać ani być główną postacią w zespole. Stanowią raczej wpływowy na nastrój dodatek do już i tak doskonałego muzycznie tła.

Wspomniałam o nastroju, więc przejdźmy teraz do tego. Na samym początku powiedziałam, że najważniejszy jest dla mnie nastrój, czyli strona emocjonalna. Cóż, myślę, że jest to najistotniejsza cecha każdego wydawnictwa, ponieważ nie słucha się go, tylko po to, by ocenić, czy gitary są w porządku, czy też perkusja nie ma za dużo werbla. Słuchasz pogańskiego black metalu, aby poczuć i zrozumieć, co zespół chciał nam powiedzieć, zobaczyć wszystkie kluczowe kwestie zawarte w utworach, aby również wejść w tę mroczną strefę komfortu, która przynajmniej dla mnie jest wszystkim, czym potrzebuję w każdym black metalowym wydaniu. Moim zdaniem "Wieczny Sen'' i sam zespół pozwalają wejść w ten relaksujący, komfortowy black metalowy nastrój, który zrozumieją tylko zwolennicy gatunku, pozwala też uwolnić całą złość, smutek czy jakiekolwiek inne uczucie, które masz w sobie i nie może Cię opuścić. Tak powinien dać się poczuć na porządny black metalowy album, oraz poza tym powinien też dać piekielną ilość porządnej muzyki - „Wieczny Sen” spełnia wszystkie te wymagania.

    Podsumowując, album jest wydawnictwem na najwyższym poziomie, o czym powinien wiedzieć każdy fan pagan black metalu. Zapewnia wszystkie niezbędne uczucia i efekty wizualne, a ponadto daje ogromną ilość złej, mrocznej i głęboko znaczącej muzyki. Mam nadzieję, że po mojej długiej recenzji każdy z Was posłucha tego wydawnictwa, a nawet zajrzy do całej dyskografii AZEL'S MOUNTAIN. Dzielcie się ze światem świetną muzyką, wspierajcie swoje ulubione zespoły, szerzcie ciemność i wspierajcie sztukę muzyczną.

DARK FOREST – ‘Oak, Ash & Thorn’  LP

I admit that I am reviewing the opening of the album from the band only for the first time. At the very beginning, the band has a big plus for me for the fact that they play and present three metal styles that do not go hand in hand so often because Dark Forest for my ear plays Heavy with Power Pagan metal. How did they manage to combine it? I will write about it now!

Dark Forest is a musical formation from England. They have been playing since 2004, and this year they released their next album called 'Oak, Ash & Thorn. An album in which harmonies, guitar melodies can be associated with the achievements of the band Iron Maiden (after all, the musicians from Dark Forest are also from England like Iron Maiden, so they probably drew their musical inspiration from local metal bands), I also picked up on this album in some places, that the vocalist was inspired by the vocal technique that Bruce Dickinson from Maiden has, but the musicians were clever and both in guitar melodies and in vocals it is only a small inspiration, but for the most part they created their own musical style and their style of playing metal, for which really great respect. In their lyrics, the musicians usually write about the history of medieval England and draw inspiration from English mythology. What for fans of such topics, can see that the interest in this band will increase among such people. Perhaps I will not describe each track here, but I personally encourage you to listen to the whole album, it is really decent for me and, above all, equal. In the beginning, when I listened to it, tracks from numbers 1 to 5 simply reminded me of decent heavy metal in which you can feel inspiration from the Iron Maiden. It was very nice to listen to, but for me, it was nothing new and innovative that would captivate me. However, the songs from number 6 to the end of the album, i.e. to composition number 9, are like a completely different better side of this album. These 4 compositions are really great and you can feel the combination of Heavy metal and Power Pagan metal in them. Especially the title track called 'Oak, Ash & Thorn' is for me the pearl of this release and the number one composition of this album. Almost 12 minutes long work with everything, that is a great introduction, intro, then extensive verses and choruses, and a magical passage, in which lovers of epic, pathos, and musical epicness will find what they were looking for. Definitely the number one track from this album for me. The next songs after this issue, 'The Woodlander' and Eadric's Return, also hold a very high level. In these songs, we have a very nice melody, riffs, and a characteristic galloping rhythm, which we can hear very similar in the work of the Iron Maiden.

In summary, if you love metal music in which you want to feel epic, everything sounds like a medieval song about a knight and heroism, then you need to listen to this album. An additional huge advantage of this band and this album is also the fact, as someone wrote nicely in the comments on Youtube under this album, that the band has really beautiful and very good clean guitar transitions - I mean guitar played on a cleans or an acoustic guitar. or classic. You can really say that such clean passages are the specialty and a secret weapon of this band. I heartily recommend it!

Przyznam, że dzisiejszy album recenzuję od zespołu z którym miałem dopiero po raz pierwszy styczność. Zespół na samym starcie ma już u mnie dużego plusa za to, że grają i prezentują takie połączenie trzech stylów metalowych, które nie tak często idą ze sobą w parze, ponieważ Dark Forest jak na moje ucho gra połączenie Heavy z Power Pagan metalem. Jak im się to udało połączyć? O tym już teraz napiszę! 

Dark Forest jest formacją muzyczną pochodzącą z Anglii. Grają już od 2004 roku, a w tym roku wydali swój kolejny krążek o nazwie ‘Oak, Ash & Thorn. Płyta w której harmonie, melodie gitar mogą kojarzyć się z dokonaniami zespołu Iron Maiden (w końcu muzycy z Dark Forest też są z Anglii jak Ironi, więc pewnie inspirację muzyczną do swojej muzyki czerpali właśnie z rodzimych zespołów metalowych) również miejscami na tym albumie wychwyciłem, że wokalistą inspirował się techniką wokalną jaką ma właśnie Bruce Dickinson z Maidenów, jednak muzycy byli sprytni i zarówno jak i w melodiach gitarowych jak  i w wokalu jest to tylko drobna inspiracja, w przeważającej części jednak wykreowali tutaj swój styl muzyczny i swój styl grania metalu, za co naprawdę wielki szacunek.  Muzycy w swoich tekstach utworów przeważnie piszą o historii średniowiecznej Anglii, oraz czerpią inspirację z Mitologii Angielskiej. Co już dla fanów takiej tematyki, może sprawić że zwiększy się zainteresowanie tym zespołem właśnie wśród takich osób. Nie będę może opisywał tutaj po kolei każdego utworu, ale osobiście zachęcam do przesłuchania całej tej płyty, jest naprawdę jak dla mnie bardzo porządna i przede wszystkim równa. Na początku gdy ją słuchałem, to utwory od numeru 1 do 5 kojarzyły mi się po prostu z porządnym Heavy metalem w którym czuć inspirację od Maidenów. Bardzo fajnie się to słuchało, ale nie było dla mnie to nic nowego i odkrywczego, co by mnie porwało. Natomiast utwory od numeru 6 do końca albumu, czyli do kompozycji nr 9 to jakby zupełnie inna lepsza strona tego albumu. Te 4 kompozycje są naprawdę świetne i czuć w nich właśnie połączenie Heavy metalu z Power Pagan metalem. Zwłaszcza utwór tytułowy o nazwie ‘Oak, Ash & Thorn jest dla mnie perełką tego wydawnictwa i kompozycją numer jeden tej płyty. Prawie 12 minutowe dzieło w którym mamy wszystko, czyli: wspaniały wstęp, intro, potem rozbudowane zwrotki oraz refreny no i magiczne przejście, w którym miłośnicy eposu, patosu i epickości muzycznej znajdą tu to czego właśnie szukali.  Zdecydowanie utwór numer jeden z tej płyty jak dla mnie. Następne po tym numerze kawałki czyli ‘The Woodlander’ i Eadric’s Retun również trzymają bardzo wysoki poziom. W tych kawałkach mamy bardzo fajne melodię, oraz riffy i charakterystyczny galopujący rytm, który bardzo podobny możemy posłuchać w twórczości Maidenów. 

Podsumowując, jeśli uwielbiasz muzykę metalową w której chcesz poczuć epickość, wszystko brzmi jak jakaś średniowieczna pieśń o jakimś rycerzu i bohaterstwie to musisz zapoznać się właśnie z tą płytą. Dodatkowym ogromnym plusem tego zespołu jak i tej płyty, jest też to, jak ktoś ładnie napisał w komentarzach na Youtube pod tą płytą, że zespół ma naprawdę piękne i bardzo dobre czyste przejścia gitarowe – mam tutaj na myśli gitarę zagraną na cleanie lub na gitarze akustycznej lub klasycznej. Naprawdę można powiedzieć, że takie czyste przejścia to specjalność i tajna broń tego zespołu. Serdecznie Polecam!

 BESTIA - 'Karusõdalane'

    BESTIA is an Estonian black/death metal band, that has been around for twenty years now. A little trivia for you - 'BESTIA' means beast in Estonian (also in Polish) so so later on you will notice that the band's name perfectly represents the brutal kind of music they perform.

With three full-lengths, four demos, and several splits, their discography couldn't look more appealing. The band works as a six-person lineup, that contains six anger drawn horsemen, performing the sacred genre of Epic Black Metal with Brutal Death Metal influences. 

Today, I will be focusing on reviewing, understanding, and breaking down to pieces their latest (2019) album - 'Karusõdalane'. This nine-track beauty will provide you a strong set of music lasting almost 42 minutes - but I guarantee you, that those minutes will be the ones spent best in your entire life. With all the tracks' titles not being written in English, I recommend you to check out their meanings before listening to the album, or dive straight into the music, and look up the lyrics online, in order to understand the band's message clearer.

So without further overdue... BESTIA!!! 

    The album starts with a top-level track, that lets you grasp and jump straight into the endless creativity of BESTIA. Catchy guitar riffs resonating through the whole release add a very symphonic sound to the album. They also sound like they were planned in detail, deeply thought through, in order to perfectly work with each other and with every other ingredient of the album. For me, that shows how much of their talent the guys already exhibited through taking their time and flawlessly performing the guitars, while not making them stand out or making them be the first fiddle in the band.Like I mentioned before, the guitars worked very well with the rest of the instruments, so let's focus on one of them now - the drums. They were extremely sophisticated, almost elegant. Their sound wasn't too much, it wasn't just a senseless pounding - you could certainly hear the drummer's craftmanship that ensured me in the band's professional approach to the problem of playing black/death metal decently and creatively. Although I really liked how the drums sounded, I would enjoy them more if they were a tiny bit louder and a pint more aggressive. Bass was cooperating wonderfully with the instruments, it completed them and underlined their importance as well as it added another dimension and deepness to the already perfect vocals. So talking about vocals now - utterly perfect, deep, evil, and brutal. They fit superbly to the musical background and they mystically explain the characteristics of the wicked genre of black/death metal.

All these anger-driven ingredients make a brutally perfect whole that provides you a huge amount of creatively performed music, and also - a deep and dark insight into the mystical history of pagan times. 

While listening to 'Karusõdalane', I have seen and deeply felt the black + death metal feelings mix, moreover, something else also surfaced - the pagan metal mystical mood. It can be heavily noticed throughout the entire album. The mood brings with itself that certain folk sound and mystical feeling, which surrounds this occult and spiritual world of pagan gods.

    The album is a perfectly done mix between two metal genres, which also incorporates a pagan metal mood in itself. The musical and technical side of 'Karusõdalane' proves very well, but the mood side of the album wins everything. For me, the mysticism that you could feel was extremely influential. It surely added that deeper feeling to the release and elevated it to the next level. Surely, all the black + death metal fans, who enjoy discovering the unknown, will enjoy BESTIA'S latest release.

    BESTIA to estoński zespół black / death metalowy, który istnieje już od dwudziestu lat. Mała ciekawostka - „BESTIA” po estońsku (także po polsku) oznacza bestię, więc później zauważycie, że nazwa zespołu doskonale oddaje brutalny rodzaj muzyki, którą wykonują.

Z trzema pełnometrażowymi albumami, czterema demami i kilkoma splitami, ich dyskografia nie mogła wyglądać bardziej atrakcyjnie. Zespół działa jako sześcioosobowy skład, w który wchodzi sześciu ciągniętych gniewem jeźdźców, wykonujących święty gatunek Epic Black Metal z wpływami Brutal Death Metalu.

Dzisiaj skupię się na przejrzeniu, zrozumieniu i rozbiciu na kawałki ich najnowszego albumu (2019) - „Karusõdalane”. Ta dziewięcio-utworowa piękność zapewni Wam mocny zestaw muzyczny trwający prawie 42 minuty - gwarantuję, że te minuty będą najlepiej spędzonymi w całym Waszym życiu. Ponieważ wszystkie tytuły utworów nie są napisane po angielsku, radzę sprawdzić ich znaczenie przed przesłuchaniem albumu lub zanurzyć się bezpośrednio w muzyce i przejrzeć teksty online, aby lepiej zrozumieć przesłanie zespołu.

A więc bez dalszych wstępów... BESTIA !!!

    Album zaczyna się utworem na najwyższym poziomie, który pozwala uchwycić i wskoczyć prosto w nieskończoną kreatywność BESTII. Chwytliwe gitarowe riffy rezonujące przez całe wydawnictwo dodają albumowi bardzo symfonicznego brzmienia. Brzmią też tak, jakby zostały szczegółowo zaplanowane, głęboko przemyślane, aby idealnie współpracować ze sobą i z każdym innym składnikiem albumu. Pokazuje, jak duży talent chłopaki wykazali, poświęcając swój czas aby bezbłędnie nagrać partie gitar, jednocześnie nie wyróżniając ich ani nie czyniąc z nich pierwszych skrzypiec w zespole. Jak wspomniałem wcześniej, gitary bardzo dobrze współpracowały z resztą instrumentów, więc skupmy się teraz na jednym z nich - perkusji. Była ona niezwykle wyrafinowana, niemal elegancka. Jej brzmienie nie było przesadne, nie było to tylko bezsensowne dudnienie - z pewnością słychać było kunszt perkusisty, który pokazał mi w profesjonalne podejście zespołu do problemu przyzwoitego i twórczego grania black / death metalu. Chociaż bardzo podobało mi się to, jak brzmiały bębny, bardziej bym z nich była zadowolona, gdyby były trochę głośniejsze i ciut bardziej agresywne. Z kolei bas wspaniale współpracował z instrumentami, dopełniał je i podkreślił ich wagę, a także nadał inny wymiar i głębię doskonałemu już wokalowi. Teraz o wokalach - całkowicie perfekcyjnych, głębokich, złych i brutalnych. Świetnie wpisują się w muzyczne tło i mistycznie wyjaśniają cechy nikczemnego gatunku black / death metalu.

Wszystkie te napędzane złością składniki tworzą brutalnie idealną całość, która dostarcza ogromnej ilości twórczo wykonywanej muzyki, a także - głębokiego i mrocznego wglądu w mistyczną historię czasów pogańskich.

Słuchając „Karusõdalane” widziałam i głęboko czułam mieszankę cech charakterystycznych black + death metalu, a ponadto pojawiło się coś jeszcze - mistyczny nastrój pogańskiego metalu. Daje się to mocno zauważyć w całym albumie. Nastrój niesie ze sobą pewne ludowe brzmienie i mistyczne uczucie, które otacza ten okultystyczny i spirytualistyczny świat pogańskich bogów.

    Album jest perfekcyjnie wykonaną mieszanką dwóch gatunków metalu, która również zawiera w sobie pogański metalowy nastrój. Muzyczna i techniczna strona „Karusõdalane” sprawdza się bardzo dobrze, ale nastrojowa strona albumu wygrywa wszystko. Dla mnie mistycyzm, który mogłam poczuć, był niezwykle wpływowy. Z pewnością dodało to głębsze uczucie do wydania i podniosło go na wyższy poziom. Gwarantuję, że wszystkim fanom black + death metalu, którzy lubią odkrywać nieznane, spodoba się najnowsze wydawnictwo BESTII.

A new single released by Strych:9!

Only a month ago, the band Strych:9 blew away the local metal scene with a breath of fresh air. Today, the band has introduced another visual single “Everyone, Everything.” 

“During the past month, we have been asked on a daily basis on when we are going to release some new music or a full-length album. I’m glad to say that there is only a bit of time left until we can rip off the curtains from our album, but we have decided to release a new single which can be heard live at our debut show held next week. Undoubtedly, our musical creation covers a vast area in the context of heavy music: while previous single “Sacrifice” brought out our fondness towards industrial music, then the new piece “Everyone, Everything” summarizes the influences we have from death metal,” said the guitarist Ants Reiu.

Strych:9 is a five-piece heavy music group founded in Tartu in 2018, whose music is characterized by a peculiar mixture of nu-, death- and industrial metal. The newly released single "Everyone, Everything" is a part of the upcoming full-length album.

 INMOST WINTER – ‘Inmost Winter’ Demo

 The demo of the band that I am reviewing today is very interesting because when I listened to this music for the first time, I was sure that I was listening to some black metal band from Norway. Here I heard the typical rawness and sharpness of Norwegian black metal, as well as the coldness of riffs that reminds me of winter. As it turned out later, to my surprise, Inmost Winter is a band from Greece. The metal scene in Greece, as we know, is at a very high level, which is proven by such leading Greek metal bands as Rotting Christ or Septicflesh. In Inmost Winter, I actually feel a bit of inspiration and similarities in the sound as on the first three Rotting Christ albums, but it is the sound of this Greek band that I associate with Norwegian black metal most closely, which I will write more about in a moment. 

On the whole album, we may not hear anything revealing that could grab us and draw us in, but for listeners who like when certain black metal archetypes are repeated, the music from Inmost Winter can really be enjoyed. First of all, what I like the most about this demo is that the album is very fast and energetic. The songs move from one to the other very quickly and the drums play the way I like best - dynamic and with constant energy. In places, the melody and riffs on this demo remind me of the achievements of such black metal bands as Mayhem, Darkthrone or Burzum. Which in my opinion is very good, because I really appreciate all the three bands I mentioned. Each track on this album keeps the level and has an interesting riff, but nevertheless, I was most drawn to the riff and the overall atmosphere of the track called - 'Heart Decance' In my opinion, this is the best composition from this demo. The only downside of this release, in my opinion, is the last track on this demo - outro. In my opinion, this piano at the end was not needed here and it would be better if the piece ended with the penultimate piece - 'Heart Decance' but of course I respect that this was the artist's vision because they should be placed here and there are different tastes, so for sure someone I will fit it and you will like it.

Overall, Inmost Winter is not the music for all black metal fans. For example, fans of progressive or atmospheric black metal will not find anything for themselves in this release, but black metal listeners who like rather classic sharp black metal from the wave of Norwegian black metal will find something for themselves here. It's a pity that Inmost Winter hasn't been recording anything for a very long time, I'm very curious what their next new songs would be like. Well, it just leaves me unsatisfied.

Demo zespołu, który dzisiaj recenzuję jest bardzo ciekawe, ponieważ gdy pierwszy raz przesłuchałem ten materiał muzyczny byłem pewien, że słucham jakiegoś zespołu black metalowego z Norwegii. Usłyszałem tutaj typową surowość i ostrość norweskiego black metalu, jak i zarówno chłód riffów kojarzący mi się z zimą. Jak się później okazało ku mojemu zdziwieniu Inmost Winter jest zespołem z Grecji. Scena metalowa w Grecji jak wiemy stoi na bardzo wysokim poziomie, czego dowodzą stąd tak czołowe zespoły greckiego metalu jak Rotting Christ, albo Septicflesh. W Inmost Winter w sumie trochę czuję inspiracji i podobieństwa w brzmieniu jak na pierwszych trzech płytach Rotting Christ, to jednak najbardziej właśnie brzmienie tego zespołu z Grecji kojarzy mi się z norweskim black metalem, o czym zaraz szerzej i więcej napiszę.  

Na całej tej płycie może nie usłyszymy niczego odkrywczego co mogłoby nas porwać i bardzo mocno wciągnąć, ale dla słuchaczy lubiących gdy pewne archetypy black metalowe są powtarzalne, muzyka od Inmost Winter może się naprawdę bardzo spodobać. Przede wszystkim na tym demie najbardziej podoba mi się to, że płyta jest bardzo szybka i energiczna. Utwory bardzo szybko przechodzą od jednego do drugiego, a perkusja gra tak jak najbardziej lubię – dynamicznie i ze stałą energią. Miejscami melodię, oraz riffy na tym demie kojarzą mi się z dokonaniami takich zespołów black metalowych jak: Mayhem, Darkthrone czy Burzum. Co według mnie jest bardzo dobre, ponieważ wszystkie te wymienione wcześniej przeze mnie trzy zespoły, bardzo sobie cenię. Każdy utwór, na tej płycie w sumie trzyma poziom i ma ciekawe riffy, ale jednak najbardziej wciągnął mnie riff oraz całościowo klimat utworu o nazwie – ‘Heart Decance. Według mnie to najlepsza kompozycja właśnie z tego demka. Jedynym minusem tego wydawnictwa jest według mnie, ostatni track na tym demie, czyli – outro.  Po prostu według mnie to pianinko na zakończenie płyty nie było potrzebne tutaj i lepiej gdyby utwór zakończył się na przedostatnim utworze czyli – ‘Heart Decance’ ale oczywiście szanuję, że taka była wizja artysty by je jednak tu umieścić i różne są gusta muzyczne, więc na pewno komuś to podpasuję i się spodoba. 

Podsumowując, Inmost Winter nie jest muzyką dla wszystkich fanów black metalu. Miłośnicy np. black metalu progresywnego czy atmosferycznego nie znajdą raczej w tym wydawnictwie nic dla siebie, to jednak słuchacze black metalu, którzy lubią raczej klasyczny ostry black metal z fali norweskiego black metalu, jak najbardziej odnajdą tu coś dla siebie. Szkoda tylko, że Inmost Winter już przez bardzo długi okres czasu nic nie nagrywa, bardzo jestem ciekaw jakie byłyby ich kolejne nowe utwory. No cóż pozostawia dla mnie to po prostu pewien niedosyt.

ABHORROT - 'Abysmal Echoes' 

    13-year-old Austrian two-man band that performs the brutal genre of ancient death metal - yet another one that does this beautiful, brutal and sacred genre of music.

This particular band has been circling around me for some time, but finally, Morbid Chapel Records motivated me and gave me the opportunity to listen to and review 'Abysmal Echoes' - the masterpiece in the death metal genre.

The release consists of eight evil and dark tracks, that will leave you speechless and gasping for more death metal material. 

    I extremely liked the 'Into The Abyss' intro. Just like a well-made intro, it should introduce you to the band's mood, idea, and musical style, this one does that perfectly, and in addition, it dictates the mood perfectly, so that you are ready for a decent amount of evil death metal. 

The guitar riffs are dark, heavy, they are pounding in your ears but at the same time, they are very catchy and symphonic. Clearly, they were deeply thought through and arranged to fit everything the best way possible. I have to say that usually when I listen to some death metal bands, my ears feel kind of tired, worn out, but after ABHORROT I didn't really feel the weariness. I think, that the band provides more of the gentler, professionally planned, and recorded kind of death metal, that doesn't leave you with feeling fatigued or having enough of the genre for a certain period of time. I think that the riffs collaborated perfectly with drums. In my opinion, the drums were very tasteful and perfectly measured to fit the band's dark and mystical mood. I also think that the bass guitar works together very well with vocals, they almost make a faultless whole, that underlines the rest of the instruments and points out their hard work.

Coming to vocals now, it is clearly noticeable that they're not the main character here, that should grasp your attention. Vocals are very well and professionally performed, and they also influence the mood quite heavily, but they weren't simply made to focus strictly on them. The main point that we should focus on, was the magnificent guitar + drums collaboration, that played the main and most important role on the album. In my opinion, the vocals were there just to highlight those instruments' work, to point out their performance and musical role as well.

Like I mentioned earlier, the vocals and the intro influenced me with the mood quite well. They brought this ultimate feeling to me, that the band has really put a whole lot of hard work into the album since it came out very well performed and mixed. I felt like everything was just in a correct place, well blended in, and pointed out for the audience. All the tracks worked well together, they told a coherent death metal story that has to be uncovered by each of us individually. 

    Summing up, 'Abysmal Echoes' is a delightful death metal album, that connects old-school with new-school, shows that vocals don't have to be the main hero of the album, that they can be the side addition to the instruments. 

Overall, I think that this release is extremely worthy of listening to, especially for death metal warriors who enjoy discovering the new and unknown.

    Trzynastoletni Austriacki dwuosobowy zespół wykonujący brutalny gatunek starożytnego death metalu - kolejny, który wykonuje ten piękny, brutalny i święty gatunek muzyczny.

Ten konkretny zespół krążył wokół mnie już od jakiegoś czasu, ale ostatecznie Morbid Chapel Records zmotywowało mnie i dało mi możliwość posłuchania i zrecenzowania „Abysmal Echoes” - arcydzieła gatunku death metalowego.

Wydanie składa się z ośmiu złych i mrocznych kawałków, które sprawią, że zaniemówisz i będziesz próbowac znaleźć więcej podobnego death metalowego materiału.

    Niezwykle podoba mi się intro do „Into The Abyss”. Podobnie jak dobrze zrobione intro, powinno wprowadzać w nastrój, pomysł i styl muzyczny zespołu, ten robi to doskonale, a do tego doskonale dyktuje nastrój, abyś był gotowy na porządną dawkę zła. Death metal.

Gitarowe riffy są mroczne, ciężkie, dudni w uszach, ale jednocześnie są bardzo chwytliwe i symfoniczne. Najwyraźniej zostały dogłębnie przemyślane i ułożone tak, aby jak najlepiej pasowały do ​​wszystkiego. Muszę powiedzieć, że zwykle, gdy słucham niektórych death metalowych kapel, moje uszy są trochę zmęczone, zużyte, ale po ABHORROT tak naprawdę nie czułem zmęczenia. Myślę, że zespół dostarcza więcej łagodniejszego, profesjonalnie zaplanowanego i nagranego death metalu, który nie pozostawia uczucia zmęczenia lub posiadania dość gatunku na określony czas. Myślę, że riffy doskonale współpracowały z perkusją. Moim zdaniem perkusja była bardzo gustowna i idealnie wymierzona, aby pasowała do mrocznego i mistycznego nastroju zespołu. Myślę też, że gitara basowa bardzo dobrze współgra z wokalami, tworzą niemal bezbłędną całość, która podkreśla pozostałe instrumenty i podkreśla ich ciężką pracę.

Przechodząc teraz do wokali, wyraźnie widać, że to nie oni są tutaj głównym bohaterem, który powinien zwrócić twoją uwagę. Wokale są bardzo dobrze i profesjonalnie wykonane, a także dość mocno wpływają na nastrój, ale nie były po prostu stworzone, by skupiać się wyłącznie na nich. Głównym punktem, na którym powinniśmy się skupić, była wspaniała współpraca gitara + perkusja, która odegrała główną i najważniejszą rolę na albumie. Moim zdaniem wokale były tam tylko po to, aby podkreślić pracę tych instrumentów, podkreślić ich wykonanie i rolę muzyczną.

Jak wspomniałem wcześniej, wokale i intro bardzo dobrze wpłynęły na mój nastrój. Przynieśli mi to ostateczne uczucie, że zespół naprawdę włożył dużo ciężkiej pracy w ten album, ponieważ wyszedł on bardzo dobrze wykonany i zmiksowany. Czułem, że wszystko jest na właściwym miejscu, dobrze wtopione i wskazane dla publiczności. Wszystkie utwory dobrze ze sobą współgrały, opowiadały spójną death metalową historię, którą każdy z nas musi odkryć z osobna.

    Podsumowując, 'Abysmal Echoes' to zachwycający death metalowy album, który łączy oldschool z new schoolem, pokazuje, że wokale nie muszą być głównym bohaterem albumu, że mogą być dodatkiem do instrumentów. .

Ogólnie uważam, że to wydawnictwo jest niezwykle godne posłuchania, szczególnie dla wojowników death metalu, którzy lubią odkrywać nowe i nieznane.

 MORBIDE – 'Les Horribles Histoires des Pays D’en Dessous'

Metal music from Canada has always been to my liking, and for me, I present myself at a really high level. It is the same as the team that I am reviewing today. Morbide is a Canadian (Quebec City to be exact) black metal band, which is fast (October 30) approaching the release of their two EPs and in the not far future to recording their first full-length album. Today I will report only from their small demo, in which Morbide presents us with their music and what we will deal with. Despite the fact that these are literally two full songs, after them, I feel that Morbide in the future and in 2021 can really conquer the world of black metal!  

What can I say, in these two pieces that Morbide presented for us, that is 'Les pays d'en dessous' and 'La vallée des dévorés' we have literally everything. Great vocals, great raw and very energetic drums, great black metal riffs, and melody and atmosphere of these songs. I really have absolutely nothing to complain about here, because I listen to this release very nicely and I feel how much potential this new band has in the black metal scene. 

To sum up, if you love raw, aggressive black metal to match the achievements of bands such as Dissection, or the first three Emperor albums, in my opinion, you cannot pass by Morbide indifferently. This band really deserves huge recognition and support right now, because if only their two full songs sounds so great, what if we already have a full long-playing album from this band? I highly recommend getting acquainted with the music of this band and encouraging all kinds of support for Morbide. Such bands with huge potential cannot just suddenly disappear, but in my opinion, great music should stand out very well and reach a wider audience who love just such music as the black metal fans from Canada present to us.

Muzyka metalowa z Kanady od zawsze bardzo mi się podobała, i jak dla mnie prezentuję się na naprawdę wysokim poziomie. Tak samo mam właśnie z zespołem, który dziś recenzuję. Morbide to pochodzący z Kanady (dokładnie z miasta Quebec) black metalowy zespół, który wielkimi krokami (bo już 30 października) zbliża się do wydania swoich dwóch EP-ek a w nie dalekiej przyszłości do nagrania swojego pierwszego długogrającego pełnego albumu. Dziś zdam relacje tylko z ich małego demka, w którym Morbide prezentują nam swoją muzykę i z czym będziemy mieli do czynienia. Pomimo tego, że są to dosłownie dwa pełne utwory, już po nich czuję, że Morbide w przyszłości a w roku 2021 może naprawdę zawojować świat black metalu! 

Co tu dużo pisać, w tych dwóch kawałkach, które zaprezentował dla nas Morbide, czyli w ‘Les pays d'en dessous’ oraz ‘La vallée des dévorés’ mamy dosłownie wszystko. Wspaniały wokal, świetną surową i bardzo energiczną perkusję, wspaniałe black metalowe riffy oraz melodię no i klimat  tych kawałków. Naprawdę nie mam się tu absolutnie do czego przyczepić, ponieważ słucha mi się tego wydawnictwa bardzo przyjemnie i czuję jak wielki potencjał na scenie black metalowej ma ten nowy zespół. 

Podsumowując, jeśli uwielbiasz surowy, agresywny black metal na miarę dokonań takich zespołów jak Dissection, lub pierwszych trzech płyt Emperora to według mnie nie możesz przejść obojętnie obok Morbide. Ten zespół naprawdę już teraz zasługuję na ogromne uznanie, oraz wsparcie, ponieważ jeżeli tak świetnie prezentują się dopiero ich dwa pełne utwory, to co będzie jeśli będziemy mieli już od tego zespołu pełny długogrający album? Bardzo polecam zapoznać się z muzyką tego zespołu oraz zachęcić do wszelkiego rodzaju wspierania Morbide. Takie zespoły z ogromnym potencjałem nie mogą po prostu nagle przepaść, tylko świetna muzyka według mnie powinna się bardzo dobrze wybić i dotrzeć do szerszego grona odbiorców kochających właśnie taką muzykę jak prezentują nam black metalowcy z Kanady.
