THUNDA - 'Amante Salvaje' single
A Colombian heavy metal band - THUNDA, has recently released a single titled 'Amante Salvaje' (you can find it on YouTube). The three-man band has gained a bit of attention from heavy metal maniacs, so it's time that MetalHellvolution's will also give them some attention and review the newest single. Let's see if it will catch my ear...
Starting off with a very high pitched scream and quite a typical heavy metal riff - 'Amante Salvaje' upfront told us that's it's gonna be the more 'delicate' side of metal.
The guitars + bass are quite catchy, 80's like, they provide a good background for vocals. When it comes to drums, well... they are too steady, regular, not so fancy, just like most heavy metal related drum performances. If they were maybe more thought through, then they could level up the band's profile.
Coming now to the vocals - I very much like the fact, that the guys sang in their mother language rather than in English. This is a good choice, to spread more awareness of different cultures, languages, and so on. Also, unfortunately, the vocals are too high for me, in addition, when they collaborate with instruments, then everything starts to sound extremely delicate, almost 'pop' like... that is the worst thing that could happen to a metal band. things like that are NEVER supposed to happen - you can't say you play heavy metal, but sound not so heavy at all, unless, you want to change your musical style, but I don't think that this is was the band's intention.
Overall, I think that THUND will be cherished by old-school heavy metal fans, that prefer rather regular music, without fancy riffs and outstanding vocals. I can see good potential in THUNDA but it's buried very deep and there's still a lot of work and improvement that needs to be done.
This single wasn't much to my liking, but I believe and hope that THUNDA will unveil new material one day, without sounding so delicate and pop-rock like, and hopefully, they'll add more spice to the music.

Zaczynając od bardzo wysokiego krzyku i dość typowego heavy metalowego riffu - „Amante Salvaje” na początku powiedziało nam, że to będzie bardziej „delikatna” strona metalu.
Gitary + bas są dość chwytliwe, jak z lat 80-tych, stanowią dobre tło dla wokali. Jeśli chodzi o perkusję, cóż ... są za bardzo stabilne, regularne, niezbyt wyszukane, tak jak większość tracków perkusyjnych związanych z heavy metalem. Gdyby była bardziej przemyślana, mogłaby ulepszyć profil zespołu i trochę podratować ten singiel.
Przechodząc teraz do wokali - bardzo podoba mi się to, że chłopaki śpiewali w swoim ojczystym języku, a nie po angielsku. To dobry wybór, aby szerzyć świadomość różnych kultur, języków. Poza tym, niestety, wokale są dla mnie za wysokie, w dodatku jak współpracują z instrumentami to wszystko zaczyna brzmieć niezwykle delikatnie, niemal jak pop-rock a to najgorsza rzecz, jaka może się przytrafić zespołowi metalowemu. Takie rzeczy NIGDY nie powinny się wydarzyć - nie możesz powiedzieć, że grasz heavy metal, ale brzmisz wcale nie tak ciężko, chyba że chcesz zmienić swój styl muzyczny, ale nie sądzę, że taki był zamiar zespołu...
Ogólnie myślę, że THUNDA spodoba się fanom oldschoolowego heavy metalu, którzy wolą raczej regularną muzykę, bez wyszukanych riffów i wybitnych wokali. Widzę duży potencjał w THUNDA, ale jest on bardzo głęboko zakopany i wciąż jest dużo pracy i ulepszeń do zrobienia.
Ten singiel nie przypadł mi do gustu, ale wierzę i mam nadzieję, że pewnego dnia THUNDA wyda nowy materiał, bez delikatnego i poprockowego brzmienia, i miejmy nadzieję, że chłopaki dodadzą więcej pikanterii muzyce.
