CULTIST - 'Chants of Sublimation' EP

The five-track EP released in June 2018, done by an extremely talented band - CULTIST, delivers you a top-level black/death metal material. Such extremely catchy riffs. excellent drum work and breathtaking vocals can mostly only be found on releases from Morbid Chapel Records .

While listening to 'Chants of sublimation' and examining it thoroughly, I could clearly hear a lot of influence from SARKE, the first track literally sounded as if it came from 'Gastwerso'... I'm a massive SARKE fan so the moment I heard in which direction the EP went, I instantly became its big supporter. But besides the SARKE-like sound, I extremely enjoyed the guitar riffs, which are a strong and very catchy binder between black-thrash vocals and black metal drums. The extreme professionalism, which you can hear, is clearly driven by the members' dedication to creating outstanding music. Knowing them all from different bands like Dauden, Urarv, and Fides Inversa, I immediately knew that this EP will be an amazing material - and it exactly proved that. 'Chants of Sublimation' surely moved me in many different ways. Firstly, highly professional and good quality sound proved that the band wasn't really going for poor black metal, in contrary to that, they focused on delivering top quality stuff. Secondly, the beautiful and meaningful lyrics sung with the highest care for detail combined with amazing instrumental skills - perfect, coherent whole. Lastly layout - minimalistic but flawlessly matching the mood and the sound of CULTIST.

The EP sparked many emotions in me, but mostly it made me feel utterly satisfied with the material. I wasn't expecting much and therefore I got surprised by the amount of talent and dedication which was put into the release. I really think that the EP is one of the best releases I've heard lately, although it is already two years old. The whole tracks' arrangement was extremely professionally made, the layout is more suitable and the EP is surely a big achievement in the little world of black metal.

I recommend 'Chants of Sublimation' to anyone who is interested in discovering new black metal bands, which are talented to the bones. Hopefully, CULTIST will release more material soon, it's been already two years since this release so let's keep our fingers crossed for more!

Pięciościeżkowa EP, wydana w czerwcu 2018 roku, nagrana przez niezwykle utalentowany zespół - CULTIST, dostarcza wam black / death metalowy materiał na najwyższym poziomie. Tak niezwykłe chwytliwe riffy, świetną grę na perkusji i zapierające dech w piersiach wokale można znaleźć głównie tylko w wydawnictwach od Morbid Chapel Records.

Słuchając „Chants of sublimation” i wnikliwie je badając, wyraźnie usłyszałam duży wpływ SARKE, pierwszy utwór brzmiał dosłownie tak, jakby pochodził z „Gastwerso” ... Jestem wielką supporterką SARKE, więc w momencie kiedy usłyszałam, w jakim kierunku poszła EPka, od razu stałam się jej zwolenniczką. Oczywiście oprócz brzmienia przypominającego SARKE, bardzo podobały mi się gitarowe riffy, które są mocnym i bardzo chwytliwym łącznikiem pomiędzy black-thrashowym wokalem i black metalową perkusją. Ekstremalny profesjonalizm, który słychać, wynika wyraźnie z zaangażowania członków w tworzenie wyjątkowej muzyki. Znając ich wszystkich z różnych zespołów, takich jak Dauden, Urarv i Fides Inversa, od razu wiedziałam, że ta EPka będzie niesamowitym materiałem – I świetnie to udowodnili. „Chants of Sublimation” z pewnością poruszyła mnie na wiele różnych sposobów. Po pierwsze, bardzo profesjonalne i dobrej jakości brzmienie dowiodło, że zespół nie stawia na kiepski black metal, a wręcz przeciwnie, skupia się na dostarczaniu materiału najwyższej jakości. Po drugie, piękne i wymowne teksty zaśpiewane z najwyższą dbałością o szczegóły połączone z niesamowitymi umiejętnościami instrumentalnymi - perfekcyjna, spójna całość. Na koniec layout - minimalistyczny, ale idealnie dopasowany do nastroju i brzmienia CULTIST.

EPka wzbudziła we mnie wiele emocji, ale przede wszystkim sprawiła, że poczułam się bardzo zadowolona z całego materiału. Nie spodziewałam się wiele i dlatego byłam zaskoczona ilością talentu i poświęcenia, jakie włożono w to wydawnictwo. Naprawdę uważam, że to EP to jedno z najlepszych wydawnictw, jakie ostatnio słyszałam, chociaż ma już dwa lata. Aranżacja wszystkich kawałków została niezwykle profesjonalnie wykonana, layout jest bardzo dopasowany, a EP jest z pewnością dużym osiągnięciem w małym świecie black metalu.

Polecam „Chants of Sublimation” każdemu, kto jest zainteresowany odkrywaniem nowych zespołów black metalowych, utalentowanych do szpiku kości. Miejmy nadzieję, że CULTIST wkrótce wyda więcej materiału, minęły już dwa lata od ‘Chants of Sublimation’
