MORBID WINDS - 'The Ruin of Forgotten Desolation' Demo

A strong trio from Poznań (Poland) has released two demos throughout their career as Morbid Winds, and their latest record - 'The Ruin of Forgotten Desolation' was released in January 2020 and also is a demo. The band consists of three guys Bloodwhip (guitars, bass, and keyboard), Diabolizer (drums), and Cryptic Lust (vocals, intro & outro). The release is a demonic set of six tracks with four full-length black metal tracks. The review is done once again in collaboration with the one and only - Morbid Chapel Records. The 'Intro' track is a very dark and mystical one. It helps you to isolate yourself from everything around you, and then slowly drown in the evil, dark, and mystical black metal world. All the guitar riffs are rather kept in the old-school mood. They're very catchy, not too loud, and they cooperate perfectly with vocals - almost as if they were the backing vocals at some points. I like the feeling of symphony between guitars and the rest of the instruments, and because of that the riffs aren't pushed into your ears, or they aren't just a senseless down picking. They are very sophisticated and show a well-planned idea that evolves withing each track. The drums are surprisingly not as fast as at many BM recordings - that's quite a pleasant surprise. They are overloaded with talent and have a thought-through combination of all characteristics that a decent drum performance should have. Besides that, the drums perfectly collaborate with vocals and make a black metal coherent whole. Bass, thankfully, is noticeable, although I would be happier if there was more of it. But its role was well kept and presented, it underlined each instrument and added depth to each of it. And now the vocals - they sound extremely insidious. Also, they're performed very well, so as a result of that they emanate with lots of black metal feelings. All of the emotions, which the vocals gave me are perfectly coherent with this album as a whole. I felt the utter coldness and mystical darkness which they brought to us through their music.

Overall, this demo is a very promising one. The content on it is very professionally performed recorded and mixed, and it also works out great with the creepy artwork. The music noticeably on a very high level and resonated with a big talent and dedication for performing satisfactory black metal. I recommend this demo for anyone that is keen on discovering new old-school themed BM acts. Support MORBID WINDS and share their evil music all over the world!

Mocne trio z Poznania (Polska) wydało dwa dema w trakcie swojej kariery jako Morbid Winds, a ich najnowsza płyta - „The Ruin of Forgotten Desolation” została wydana w styczniu 2020 roku i jest to również demo. Zespół składa się z trzech facetów - Bloodwhip (gitary, bas i klawisze), Diabolizer (perkusja) i Cryptic Lust (wokale, intro i outro). Wydanie, to demoniczny zestaw sześciu utworów z czterema pełnowymiarowymi black metalowymi utworami. Utwór „Intro” jest bardzo mroczny i mistyczny. Pomaga ci odizolować się od wszystkiego, co cię otacza, a następnie powoli zatopić się w złym, mrocznym i mistycznym świecie black metalu. Wszystkie gitarowe riffy utrzymane są raczej w klimacie oldschoolowym. Są bardzo chwytliwe, niezbyt głośne i doskonale współpracują z wokalami - prawie tak, jakby w niektórych miejscach były chórkami. Podoba mi się symfonia między gitarami a resztą instrumentów, co prowadzi do tego, że riffy nie są na siłę wciskane do uszu lub nie są po prostu bezsensownym dręczeniem. Są one bardzo wyrafinowane i pokazują dobrze zaplanowany pomysł, który ewoluuje z każdym utworem. Perkusja zaskakująco nie jest tak szybka jak na wielu nagraniach BM - to całkiem miła niespodzianka. Jest przeładowana talentem i przemyślaną kombinacją wszystkich cech, które powinna mieć przyzwoita black metalowa perkusja. Poza tym doskonale współgra z wokalem, tworząc spójną black metalową całość. Bas, na szczęście, jest zauważalny, chociaż byłabym szczęśliwsza, gdyby było go więcej i dodatkowo bardziej słyszalnego. Ale jego rola została dobrze zachowana i przedstawiona, podkreślała każdy instrument i dodawała głębi każdemu z nich. A teraz wokale - brzmią niezwykle podstępnie. Poza tym są bardzo dobrze wykonane, dzięki czemu emanują dużą ilością black metalowych uczuć. Wszystkie emocje, jakie dał mi wokal, są doskonale spójne z tym albumem jako całością. Poczułam całkowity chłód i mistyczną ciemność, które MORBID WINDS przynieśli nam swoją muzyką.

Ogólnie rzecz biorąc, to demo jest bardzo obiecujące. Treść na nim jest bardzo profesjonalnie wykonana, nagrana i zmiksowana, a także świetnie komponuje się z przerażającą grafiką. Muzyka wyraźnie na bardzo wysokim poziomie i rezonująca z wielkim talentem i oddaniem do wykonywania satysfakcjonującego black metalu. Polecam to demo każdemu, kto jest zainteresowany odkrywaniem nowych zespołów BM o tematyce starej szkoły. Wspieraj MORBID WINDS i dziel się ich złą muzyką na całym świecie!
