MOTÖRHEAD – 'Ace of Spades' (1980) – Back To The Past

      Hello! Today is the last series of  'Back To The Past' in November! It took me a long time to find a metal album from the past just this month, but I finally made it. Also, I found a real gem and an album, which in my opinion can be described with one word, and that is the word - "Old-School" is the "Ace Of Spades" album from the immortal and legendary Lemmy Kilmister and his Motörhead! I cordially invite everyone to my memories of this unique album. 

      ‘Ace Of Spades' was released on November 8, 1980, and already then this disc made a lot of confusion in the world of fans of Heavy Metal, Hard rock, and old-school sound, in total, you can say that Lemmy created something like Rock and Roll mixed with Speed and Heavy metal / Hard rock. What he did in music is simply something great and masterful for me personally. I watched quite a lot of documentaries about Mr. Kilmister, and you know Lemmy has always loved good Rock and Roll. He was inspired by such artists as Little Richard, Elvis Presley or Chuck Berry. Lemmy combined good Rock and Roll with heavy metal and in my opinion, it turned out to be a beautiful new genre of music. The very playing of Lemmy on the bass is very impressive, he has always said that the bass should be as loud as possible, this is the real Rock and Roll and the artistry of Lemmy's style and his music. All in all, Motörhead's composing and playing style can be compared exactly to the style of AC/DC. Australians also play their style of good Hard Rock combined with blues on each of their albums, and none of the listeners do not mind, it is really only a big plus and works for the band's benefit. Fans of such music love it when their beloved band has been playing the same music from album to album for years if what they play over and over again is mega beautiful and old-school, why change something and experiment towards a different sound? It is the same with Motörhead, each of their albums is very similar in terms of composition, style, riffs, etc. But if everyone is just as good and old school, fans love that they just hear a piece of good playing in the atmosphere of Heavy / Hard rock combined with rock and roll and they immediately know that this is Lemmy and Motörhead! Now let's move on to the description of the album 'Ace of Spades' It is an album that rushes like crazy from the very beginning to the end! hence I just mentioned that you can feel the first approaches and atmosphere like from speed metal playing, for sure this album had a significant impact on the development of this metal genre. My favorite compositions on this album are for sure the songs: "Love Me Like a Reptile' - brilliant catchy chorus, beautiful bass line of Lemmy and his hoarse vocal is simply something beautiful in this track. Another great track is '(We are) the Road Crew' It is in this track that we best hear and feel what the old-school style of Motörhead is and their sound, and once again the amazing bass line of Lemmy. In a very clear and beautiful rock and roll soul, there is a composition - 'Dance' and the best guitar riff on this album has, in my opinion, the eleventh position of this album - 'The Chase Is Better Than The Catch' a classic beautiful song and artistry of the style played by Lemmy and his friends. Although the most popular song from this album and the entire work of Motörhead is the title piece of this album, i.e. 'Ace Of Spades', in my opinion, it is not the best piece of this musical formation, and even Lemmy himself in many interviews admit that he does not like playing this song live, and he's not so proud of it. This piece has probably become so popular because this is how the market and commercial work - because the track was used, for example, in the soundtrack for the 'Tony Hawk's Pro Skater' series of games, so probably that's why this musical composition stood out so much to a wider audience around the world.   

          To sum up, the album 'Ace of Spades' from the great Lemmy and Motörhead may not be my favorite album of this formation. Personally, my favorites of Motörhead's albums are 'Overkill' from 1979, and 'Bomber' also from the same year as 'Overkill', but 'Ace Of Spades' is definitely in the top five albums of this band. An album that certainly took Lemmy and his colleagues to the heights of popularity and fame, and material that had a great impact on the development of speed metal and the overall development of the heavy metal world. It is such an album where it would be a shame if a fan of metal music did not listen to it yet or did not know it yet. And although Lemmy is no longer alive, his music and the whole character of Lemmy and his contribution to this Motörhead album or others are forever alive and will be like that forever. This is what is beautiful about art and music. In the end, it is also worth mentioning that all the musicians who recorded the album 'Ace Of Spades' and had an impact on its production, unfortunately, are no longer alive, but just like Lemmy, in our hearts and all their activities that they passed on to the world of music metal and not only metal, it is eternal. Fast Eddie Clarke, who died in 2018, was responsible for the guitars on this album, Philip John Taylor, nickname 'Animal', who died in 2015, is responsible for the excellent percussion parts. They, like Lemmy, are irreplaceable people, and such musicians and charismatic people do happen in this world once in a million. Privately, I think that a friend and guitarist of Motörhead, Phil Campbell, and the rest of Motörhead's musicians, made a very good decision to quit the band after Lemmy's death. He knew that no one would replace Lemmy and Lemmy is Motörhead, so the status of their eternal legend is still preserved and respected. I rate this album 9 out of 10!

    Witam! Dzisiaj ostatnia seria ‘Back To The Past’ w listopadzie! Sporo zajęło mi znalezienie metalowego albumu z przeszłości właśnie z tego miesiąca, ale w końcu się udało. Na dodatek znalazłem prawdziwą perełkę oraz album, który może być według mnie opisanym jednym słowem, a jest tym słowem - „Old-School” taka jest właśnie płyta ‘Ace Of Spades’ od nieśmiertelnego i legendarnego Lemmy'ego Kilmistera i jego Motörhead! Serdecznie zapraszam wszystkich do mojego wspomnienia tego wyjątkowego krążka.  

   ‘Ace Of Spades’ zostało wydane dokładnie 8 listopada 1980 roku i już wtedy ten krążek zrobił sporo zamieszania w świecie fanów Heavy Metalu, Hard rocka i old-schoolowego brzmienia, w sumie można napisać, że Lemmy stworzył coś z gatunku Rock and Rolla wymieszanego ze Speed oraz Heavy metalem/ Hard rockiem. To co zrobił w muzyce jest po prostu dla mnie osobiście czymś wielkim i mistrzowskim. Oglądałem w sumie sporo filmów dokumentalnych o panu Kilmisterze i wiadomo, że Lemmy od zawsze uwielbiał dobry Rock and Roll. Inspirowali go tacy artyści jak: Little Richard, Elvis Presley czy Chuck Berry. Lemmy połączył dobry Rock and Roll z heavy metalem i wyszedł według mnie z tego piękny nowy gatunek muzyki. Sama gra  Lemmy’ego na basie jest bardzo imponująca, od zawsze mówił, że gitara basowa ma być maksymalnie głośna, to jest właśnie prawdziwy Rock and Roll i kunszt stylu Lemmy’ego i jego muzyki. W sumie styl kompozycji i grania muzyki przez Motörhead mogę porównać dokładnie do tego jaki jest styl zespołu AC/DC. Australijczycy też na każdym swoim albumie grają swój styl dobrego Hard Rocka połączonego z bluesem i nikomu ze słuchaczy to nie przeszkadza, mało tego jest to tak naprawdę tylko wielki plus i działa na korzyść zespołu. Fani takiej muzyki uwielbiają gdy ich ukochany zespół gra od lat te samą muzykę z albumu na album, jeśli to co w kółko grają jest mega piękne i old-schoolowe, to po co coś zmieniać i eksperymentować w kierunku innego brzmienia? Tak samo jest w przypadku Motörhead każdy ich album jest w sumie bardzo podobny do siebie jeśli chodzi o układ kompozycji utworów, stylu, brzmienia, riffów itp. Ale jeśli każdy jest tak samo dobry i oldschoolowy, to fani uwielbiają to, że po prostu usłyszą jakiś kawałek dobrego grania w klimacie Heavy/ Hard rocka połączonego z rock and roll’em i od razu wiedzą, że to jest właśnie Lemmy i Motörhead! Przejdźmy teraz do samego opisu albumu ‘Ace of Spades’ Jest to płyta która od samego początku do końca pędzi jak szalona! stąd wspomniałem właśnie, że można wyczuć na niej już pierwsze podchodzenia i klimaty jak ze speed metalowego grania, na pewno ta płyta miała znaczy wpływ na rozwój tego gatunku metalu. Moimi ulubionymi kompozycjami na tej płycie są na pewno utwory: „Love Me Like a Reptile – genialny chwytliwy refren, piękna linia basu Lemmy’ego i jego chrypkowaty wokal jest w tym numerze po prostu czymś pięknym. Kolejnym znakomitym utworem jest ‘(We are) the Road Crew’ To właśnie w tym kawałku najlepiej słyszymy i czujemy czym jest old-schoolowy styl Motörhead i ich brzmienie, no i po raz kolejny niesamowita linia basu Lemmy’ego. W bardzo wyraźnej i pięknej rock and rollowej duszy jest kompozycja – ‘Dance’ a najlepszy gitarowy riff na tej płycie ma według mnie jedenasta pozycja tej płyty czyli –‘The Chase Is Better Than The Catch’ klasyczny piękny utwór i kunszt stylu grania przez Lemmiego i jego przyjaciół. Chociaż najpopularniejszym utworem z tej płyty jak i z całości twórczości działalności grupy Motörhead jest tytułowy kawałek tego albumu, czyli ‘Ace Of Spades’ to nie jest to według mnie najlepszy kawałek tej formacji muzycznej, a nawet sam Lemmy w wielu wywiadach przyznaję, że bardzo nie lubi grać tego kawałka na żywo, i nie jest z niego maksymalnie dumny. Ten kawałek stał się chyba tak popularny, bo tak po prostu działa rynek, komercja – bo utwór został użyty np. w soundtracku do serii gier ‘Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater’, więc pewnie dlatego tak bardzo wybiła się ta kompozycja muzyczna do szerszego grona odbiorców na całym świecie. 

      Podsumowując, płyta ‘Ace of Spades’ od wielkiego Lemmy’ego i Motörhead nie jest może prywatnie moim ulubionym krążkiem tej formacji. Osobiście moimi faworytami płyt Motörhead są albumy: ‘Overkill’ z 1979 roku, oraz ‘Bomber’ również z tego samego roku co płyta ‘Overkill’ to jednak ‘Ace Of Spades’ jest na pewno w pierwszej top piątce albumów tego zespołu. Album, który na pewno wyniósł Lemmy’ego i jego kolegów na szczyty popularności i sławy, oraz materiał który miał wielki wpływ na rozwój speed metalu, oraz ogólny rozwój heavy metalowego świata. To taka płyta, gdzie aż wstyd by było jeśli fan muzyki metalowej by jej jeszcze nie słuchał lub jej jeszcze nie znał. No i chociaż Lemmy już nie żyje, to jednak jego muzyka oraz cała postać Lemmy’ego i jego wkład w tę płytę Motörhead czy inne, jest wiecznie żywy i tak już będzie na zawsze. To jest właśnie piękne w sztuce i muzyce. Na sam koniec warto również wspomnieć, że wszyscy muzycy którzy nagrali płytę ‘Ace Of Spades’ i mieli znaczy wpływ na jej produkcję niestety już nie żyją, ale tak samo jak właśnie Lemmy, w naszych sercach oraz cała ich działalność, którą przekazali dla świata muzyki metalowej i nie tylko metalowej, jest wieczna. Za gitary na tym albumie był odpowiedzialny Fast Eddie Clarke który zmarł w 2018 roku, za znakomite partię perkusyjne odpowiedzialny jest Philop John Taylor pseudonim ‘Animal’ zmarły w 2015 roku. Oni wszyscy jak i Lemmy są ludźmi nie do zastąpienia, i tacy muzycy i charyzmatyczni ludzie zdarzają się na tym świecie naprawdę raz na milion. Prywatnie myślę, że bardzo dobrą decyzję podjął przyjaciel i gitarzysta Motörhead – Phil Campbell, jak i reszta muzyków Motörhead o tym, żeby po śmierci Lemmy’ego zakończyć działalność zespołu. Wiedział, że nikt nie zastąpi Lemmy’ego a Lemmy to właśnie Motörhead, więc status ich wiecznej legendy jest jak najbardziej ciągle zachowany i szanowany. Oceniam ten album 9 na 10!

 ENSLAVED 'Monumension' (2001) - Back To The Past 

    Yet another Back To The Past episode comes to you today!

The band on which I will focus today is the master in the progressive black/Viking metal genre... Ladies and Gentleman - ENSLAVED!!!

Honestly, those masters of metal need no introduction, they have been one of the most known and appreciated bands of all time, still to this day. They even got nominated for the Spellemann award in Norway and won in 2017 for the album 'E'.

This review will be focused on the 2001's album 'Monumension', which came out on the 14th of November. 

Let's not prolong the introduction, and jump straight into the review!

The album consists of 10 outstanding tracks, marking the time of almost one hour! You don't see such long releases that often since it's widely thought that this length of an album can make someone bored... well, I have to agree with that, I like to listen to an album until a certain amount of time and finish it before it becomes too much. But when it comes to Enslaved, I had never got bored - and I never will. That's quite surprising, basing on my experience since I easily get bored, but 'Monumension' gave a totally different experience, at least for me.

    The album provided me a certain comfort zone, in which I could totally unwind, relax, and dive into Enslaved's craftsmanship. From the very beginning, you get a crushing material, that flawlessly reflects the idea of a collaboration between the dark, cold black metal and the powerful, ancient-sounding viking metal. At some points, you can even hear a bit of thrash metal-sounding guitar riffs. That threw me off a bit, but after diving deeper into the album, I understood the idea of those thrashy sounds. 

All those types of metal were blended perfectly by the outstanding guitar work. Then that collaborated excellently with the very varied and creatively arranged drum work, deep bass lines, and symphonical keys.

All that gave a very suitable background for the black/viking metal vocals. They also brought a bit of that folk Scandinavian feeling to the whole picture.

The imagery that 'Monumension' provoked, was a bit uncertain one. There was quite a lot going on at the same time, and I had a little problem focusing on certain feelings that appeared for a few seconds and then went away because of a sudden change in the music.

I'm not necessarily a fan of those sudden changes, because I couldn't make up my mind concerning the general picture or feeling that the release was supposed to provoke - in easy words, at some points there was a bit too much going on.

Nevertheless, the album didn't lose anything in my eyes, actually, it gained a lot of respect from me because it's bloody hard to mix three great metal genres into one kick-ass album and manage to pull that off flawlessly.

    Summing up, 'Monumension' greatly reflects Enslaved's early productions as well as those more current ones, for example, it provided a very early insight into this year's 'Utgard'. 

Each track seemed thoroughly planned and creatively designed.

The album as a whole stands strong in Enslaved's discography, it shows the band's true soul and their creative approach to extreme metal.

I deeply encourage you to listen to Enslaved's full discography and try to understand their craft - it's not easy but certainly is very rewarding.

    Kolejny odcinek Back To The Past przychodzi do już dziś!

Zespół, na którym się skupię, jest mistrzem w gatunku progressive black / viking metal ... Szanowni Państwo - ENSLAVED !!!

Szczerze mówiąc, tych mistrzów metalu nie trzeba przedstawiać, są oni jednym z najbardziej znanych i cenionych zespołów wszechczasów. Otrzymali nawet nominację do nagrody Spellemann w Norwegii i wygrali w 2017 za album „E”.

Ta recenzja będzie koncentrować się na albumie „Monumension” z 2001 roku, który ukazał się 14 listopada.

Nie przedłużajmy wprowadzenia i przejdźmy od razu do recenzji!

Album składa się z 10 wybitnych utworów, wyznaczających prawie godzinę dobrego materiału! Nie często można zauważyć tak długie wydawnictwa, które taką długością mogą kogoś znudzić ... cóż, zgodzę się z tym, ponueważ lubię słuchać albumu do określonej ilości czasu i skończyć zanim stanie się go już za dużo. Ale jeśli chodzi o Enslaved, nigdy się nie nudziłam - i nigdy nie będę. To dla mnie dość zaskakujące, ponieważ łatwo się nudzę, ale „Monumension” dało zupełnie inne doświadczenie, przynajmniej dla mnie.

    Album zapewnił mi pewną strefę komfortu, w której mogłam całkowicie się odprężyć, zrelaksować i zanurzyć w kunszcie Enslaved. 

Od samego początku otrzymujesz miażdżący materiał, który bezbłędnie odzwierciedla ideę współpracy między mrocznym, zimnym black metalem a potężnym, starożytnie brzmiącym metalem wikingów. W niektórych momentach można nawet usłyszeć trochę thrash metalowych gitarowych riffów. Trochę mnie to zbiło z tropu, ale po zagłębieniu się w album, zrozumiałam ideę thrashowych dźwięków.

Wszystkie te rodzaje metalu zostały idealnie połączone przez wybitną pracę gitary. Następnie wspaniale współpracowały one z bardzo zróżnicowaną i twórczo zaaranżowaną pracą perkusji, głębokimi liniami basu i symfonicznymi klawiszami.

Wszystko to dało bardzo odpowiednie tło dla black / viking metalowego wokalu. Wniósł on też trochę ludowego skandynawskiego nastroju do całości albumu.

Obraz, który wywołał „Monumension”, był nieco niepewny. W tym samym czasie działo się całkiem sporo i miałam mały problem ze skupieniem się na pewnych uczuciach, które pojawiły się na kilka sekund, a potem zniknęły z powodu nagłej zmiany w muzyce.

Niekoniecznie jestem fanką tych nagłych zmian, bo nie mogłam się zdecydować co do ogólnego obrazu czy uczucia, które ​​wydawnictwo miało sprowokować - w prostych słowach, w niektórych miejscach działo się jednak trochę za dużo .

Niemniej jednak, album nie stracił w moich oczach, właściwie zyskał ode mnie wiele szacunku, ponieważ cholernie trudno jest zmieszać trzy świetne gatunki metalu w jeden niesamowity album i jeszcze sprawić aby udało się to bezbłędnie.

    Podsumowując, „Monumension” świetnie odzwierciedla wczesne produkcje Enslaved, jak również te bardziej aktualne, na przykład, dostarczył on bardzo wczesnego wglądu w tegoroczny „Utgard”.

Każdy utwór wydawał się dokładnie zaplanowany i twórczo zaprojektowany.

Album jako całość mocno zaznacza się w dyskografii Enslaved, pokazuje prawdziwą duszę zespołu i ich twórcze podejście do ekstremalnego metalu.

Gorąco zachęcam do wysłuchania pełnej dyskografii Enslaved i zrozumienia ich rzemiosła - nie jest to łatwe, ale z pewnością bardzo satysfakcjonujące, oczywiście gdy już uda Wam się to zrobić.

 ULVEN - 'Death Rites Upon A Winged Crusade'

    Today I bring you a brand new review of a band from the US... Such a huge distance from the US to Metal Hellvolution headquarters, but thanks to Morbid Chapel Records, this distance was shortened and I could review this dark and mystic band, from a CD that Morbid Chapel Records sent me - lets spread ULVEN's great masterpiece and Morbid Chapel Records' great craftsmanship.

'Death Rites Upon A Winged Crusade' is a nine-track album, marking the time of almost 50 minutes - thankfully, this album is quite longer, than the previous ones which I reviewed, so I can say up front, that I was utterly satisfied with the amount of decent material on it. 

The album is kept in an old-school black metal style, that doesn't stink with a rotten basement, you can rather feel a fresh flow, of the new wave of black metal. 

At once, it provides you a hellish amount of brutal, and dark music that'll leave you feeling so cold, dark, and satisfied, but at the same time, it'll make you tear up while listening to these mournful, deep tracks with amazing vocal work!

    As I said, the vocals threw me off. I wasn't expecting that much of a deepness, dedication, and sadness in them, and also the heavily noticeable professionalism surprised me as well. ULVEN only has three releases in its discography, but the vocals are outstanding in each one. They wonderfully go with the soul-touching guitar riffs, which influence the mood as well. Combined with vocals, they bring that dark aura, make you feel like you're freezing in the snowy mountains, and the only thing to warm you is ULVEN's latest album - which obviously does the perfectly.

And now coming to my favorite ingredient of each release - drums. Outstandingly professional, deep, and dark drumming skills, their extreme brutality combined with the hidden delicacy of black metal, melted wonderfully with all the instruments, creating a coherent, perfect whole that provides us a top-level material.

Everything combines perfectly together, creating this mystic black metal aura, that grips your heart and makes you feel at home, just like when you first heard the black metal music. 'Death Rites Upon A Winged Crusade' evoke many BM-related memories in me, I also felt just as I was discovering the genre all over again as if I was drowning deeper and deeper in this dark and beautiful world.

    Summing up, I have to say I haven't heard such a decent black metal release in a long time.

It has all the characteristics a decent album should have, what's more, it evokes many meaningful BM memories, and surely reminds you what black metal means to you, and how strong it still is, no matter what others say about its downfall...

Every track connects greatly with the other ones, creates a long and decent piece of extreme metal art, and reminds you a bit of the early primitive but true synthesizer times of black metal.

    Dzisiaj przynoszę wam najnowszą recenzję zespołu z USA ... Taki ogromny dystans z USA do siedziby Metal Hellvolution album musiał pokonać, ale dzięki Morbid Chapel Records dystans się skrócił i mogłam zrecenzować ten mroczny i mistyczny zespół, z płyty, którą przesłała mi ta świetna wytwórnia - rozpowszechniajmy wielkie arcydzieło ULVEN i wspaniałe rzemiosło Morbid Chapel Records.

„Death Rites Upon A Winged Crusade” to album składający się z dziewięciu utworów, wyznaczający czas prawie 50 minut - na szczęście ten album jest znacznie dłuższy niż poprzednie, które recenzowałam, więc z góry mogę powiedzieć, że byłam całkowicie zadowolona z ilości porządnego materiału na nim.

Album utrzymany jest w oldschoolowym black metalowym stylu, który nie śmierdzi zgniłą piwnicą, można raczej poczuć świeży powiew nurtu nowej fali black metalu.

Od razu dostarcza on piekielnej ilości brutalnej i mrocznej muzyki, która sprawi, że poczujesz się tak zimno, mrocznie i usatysfakcjonowany tym dziełem, ale jednocześnie sprawi, że uronisz łzę słuchając tych żałobnych, głębokich utworów z niesamowitą pracą wokalną!

    Jak powiedziałam, wokal mnie rzucił i poturbował. Nie spodziewałam się w nich tak dużej głębi, poświęcenia i smutku, a także mocno zauważalny profesjonalizm również mnie zaskoczył. ULVEN ma tylko trzy wydawnictwa w swojej dyskografii, ale wokale w każdym z nich są znakomite. Wspaniale komponują się z poruszającymi duszą gitarowymi riffami, które również wpływają na nastrój. W połączeniu z wokalami wnoszą tę mroczną aurę, sprawiają, że czujesz się, jakbyś zamarzł w zaśnieżonych górach, a jedyną rzeczą, która cię rozgrzewa, jest najnowszy album ULVEN - który oczywiście doskonale sprawdza się w tym.

A teraz dochodzę do mojego ulubionego składnika każdego wydawnictwa - perkusji. Niezwykle profesjonalne, głębokie i mroczne umiejętności perkusyjne, ich ekstremalna brutalność połączona z ukrytą delikatnością black metalu, wspaniale stopiła się ze wszystkimi instrumentami, tworząc spójną, idealną całość, która dostarcza nam materiał na najwyższym poziomie.

 NEGATIVE OR NOTHING – 'Drowned' LP

 The band that I am reviewing today comes from Chile and is representative of Depressive Black metal music. I really like the melancholy in this genre of music, and it is also this time. Negative Or Nothing surprised me very positively.

 From the very beginning, I am greeted by my favorite composition from this album "VMBRA" - a strong and fast track from the beginning to the end of its duration, with splendid and raw riffs. The vocals on this track, as well as on the entire disc, are somewhere in the background and hardly audible, but with this material, it works only on the plus side, because thanks to this music sound like it have been torn out of the abyss of hell. It is dark, full of emotions, and aggressive (for sure fans of such raw black metal will love this atmosphere and such sound). It is worth paying attention to this release, also to the climatic slows, and the use of synthesizers and ambient inserts - they sound and remind me of the soundtrack to a post-apocalyptic game called Fallout. Virtually the whole of this long-playing album does not contain any bad and superfluous track. The album is really even and keeps a high level, it reminds me of the good old school of black metal from the early 90s. really interesting percussion transitions, and what every metal fan loves the most - Blasty! The album is so interesting that it is a pity that it only lasts 34 minutes because I want more of these riffs and melodies and more. 

 All in all, if you love hard, extreme, and slightly melancholic black metal, then this album is for you. Additionally, the whole album reminds me of the season we have now, i.e. Autumn - so it is an album just in time for this season!

  Zespół, który dzisiaj recenzuję pochodzi z Chile i jest przedstawicielem muzyki z gatunku Depressive Black metal. Bardzo podoba mi się melancholia w tym gatunku muzyki, i tak jest również i tym razem. Muzycy Negative Or Nothing bardzo pozytywnie mnie zaskoczyli.

  Już na samym początku wita mnie chyba moja ulubiona kompozycja z tej płyty, czyli utwór – „VMBRA” mocny oraz szybki numer od początku do końca jego trwania z kapitalnymi i surowymi riffami.  Wokale na tym kawałku jak i zarówno na całym krążku, są jakby gdzieś w tle i są słabo słyszalne, ale w przypadku tego materiału działa to tej płycie tylko i wyłącznie na plus, ponieważ dzięki temu ta muzyka brzmi jak wyrwana z czeluści piekieł. Jest mroczna, pełna emocji i agresywna (na pewno fani takiego właśnie surowego black metalu pokochają ten klimat i takie granie). Warto zwrócić uwagę na tym wydawnictwie również na klimatyczne zwolnienia, oraz użycie syntezatorów i wstawek ambientowych – brzmią one i kojarzą mi się jak z soundtrackiem do postapokaliptycznej gry o nazwie Fallout. Praktycznie całość tej długogrającej płyty nie ma w sobie żadnego złego i zbytecznego kawałka. Album jest naprawdę równy i trzyma wysoki poziom, przypomina mi starą dobrą szkołę grania black metalu z początku lat 90. Fani, oraz słuchacze którzy zwracają na największą uwagę podczas odsłuchiwania płyt na partię perkusyjne, również znajdą na tym materiale coś dla siebie, ponieważ mamy tutaj naprawdę ciekawe przejścia perkusyjne, oraz to co każdy metalowiec kocha najbardziej czyli – Blasty! Album w sumie jest na tyle ciekawy, że aż szkoda że trwa tylko 34 minuty, ponieważ tych riffów i melodii chcę się więcej i jeszcze raz więcej. 

  Podsumowując, jeśli kochasz ostry, ekstremalny i lekko melancholijny black metal, to ta płyta jest właśnie dla ciebie. Dodatkowo cała płyta bardzo kojarzy mi się z porą roku, która mamy teraz, czyli z Jesienią – a więc jest to album w sam raz na obecną porę roku!

 Today's review is about a one-man project called Mace Head. Jan Pospíšil from the Czech Republic represents the style of Black / Doom Crust metal music. Please see my short report of this musical material straight from Moravia!

 The entire material on this album is half an hour-long, which I think is a very good album duration for this type of material. On this album, we do not deal with some professional sound and professional mix, and mastering (which is also evidenced by the fact that Mace Head releases albums on his own and is not under the patronage of any record company), but in my opinion, it comes out very much on this album for plus, because we have a very interesting atmosphere of home playing and recording music. For fans of underground metal, it can be a really beautiful treat. Although in some places the drums leave a lot to be desired, the riffs on this long-playing material are really interesting and complex at places and I want to move my head to them to the beat of the music. The fact that the music was composed from the heart and inspiration deserves a big plus. There is a kind of apparent truth of the emotion poured into the music here. You can also feel the inspiration from Bathory music in this album, especially in vocals and in backing vocals, or e.g. thanks to the synthesizers used, you can also feel the atmosphere of the music presented by Master's Hammer, which, just like Mace Head, comes from the Czech Republic. 

 All in all, if you are a fan of very underground metal music, you might really like this album. There are also clear vibes of Viking Black metal here, so fans of this genre of music will find something perfect for their tastes in this material.

 Dzisiejsza moja recenzja poświęcona jest jednoosobowemu projektowi o nazwie Mace Head. Pochodzący z Czech Jan Pospíšil, reprezentuję styl w muzyce metalowej z nurtu Black / Doom Crust metalu. Zapraszam na moją krótką relacje tego muzycznego materiału prosto z Moraw! 

 Cały materiał na tym krążku trwa pół godziny, i jest to według mnie bardzo dobry czas trwania albumu dla tego typu materiału. Na tej płycie nie mamy do czynienia z jakimś profesjonalnym brzmieniem i zawodowym mixem, oraz masteringiem (O czym świadczy też to, że Mace Head wydaję swoje płyty sam i nie jest pod patronatem żadnej wytwórni płytowej) to jednak według mnie wychodzi to tej płycie bardzo na plus, ponieważ mamy bardzo ciekawy klimat domowego grania i nagrywania muzyki. Dla fanów metalowego undergroundu może to być naprawdę piękny smaczek. Chociaż miejscami perkusja pozostawia wiele do życzenia, to riffy na tym długogrającym materiale są naprawdę miejscami bardzo ciekawe, rozbudowane i chcę się ruszać do nich głową w rytm muzyki. Na duży plus zasługuję również to, że czuć że muzyka została skomponowana od serca i pod natchnieniem. Jest tutaj swego rodzaju widoczna prawdziwość emocji przelanej do muzyki. Da się również odczuć w tej muzyce inspiracje z muzyki Bathory, zwłaszcza w wokalu i w chórkach, czy np. dzięki użytym syntezatorom również można odczuć klimat muzyki jaką prezentuję Master’s Hammer, który tak samo jak Mace Head podchodzi z Czech. 

 Podsumowując, jeśli jesteś fanem bardzo undergroundowego grania metalu, to ta płyta może ci się naprawdę bardzo spodobać. Są tutaj w sumie także wyraźne klimaty Viking Black metalu, więc fani takiego gatunku muzyki znajdą coś idealnego pod swoje gusta właśnie w tym materiale.

CONGENITAL DEFORMITY - 'Progenies of the Cemetery' 

    The band from the country of great wine, outstanding food, beautiful sights - Italy, has emerged in 2019, and managed to release one demo so far - 'Progenies of the Cemetery'. But before taking that particular release under examination, I will blabber a bit about our magnificent friend from Morbid Chapel Records! Without his black metal heart, and his generosity in sending me CDs, I wouldn't be able to write so many engaging reviews...or would I?

Anyways, huge thanks to MORBID CHAPEL RECORDS for giving me so many cool records, and for releasing so talented and ambitious extreme metal projects. Cheers to all of the bands, MCR, and all extreme metal fans out there!

Coming back now to the 16-minute release - 'Progenies of the Cemetery' - I have to say that four death metal tracks could be enough for me since I'm not such a big fan of the genre, but actually, were they enough? 

    The freaking awesome, dreadful, and deadly riffs gripped me right from the start of the first track. Their monotonic kind of sound was perfectly balanced, it was never boring, in contrary to that, the guitar sound combined with tasty riffs was extremely engaging and gripping. Combined with drums, that had a very sophisticated usage of blast beats and delicate but ambitious usage of cymbals, they made a great whole, only to be lifted even higher by the very noticeable, harmonious, and decent bass work. I have to say that although I'm not such an extreme fan of that grind-like kind of vocals, I deeply enjoyed them on 'Progenies of the Cemetery'. They coordinated perfectly with the musical background and brought us this certain dungeon-like mood. I honestly could feel as if I was at a concert in some dark dungeons, surrounded by darkness, brutality, and a hellish amount of brilliant music. The smell of old-school death metal was noticeable, but it didn't make the demo an old-school wannabe - in fact, it added more to the release: more sophistication, dedication and it certainly highlighted the perfectionism with which the demo was made. 

Additionally, EVERYTHING was performed by Michele Labratti - how could he perform everything and manage to do that flawless;y, and even incorporate a great, deep, and dark mood influential feelings? I have no idea how he did that, but I believe that he worked his ass off on this release.

Like I mentioned earlier, each track has this dungeon-like mood, and in addition, a little bit of horror-related imagery jumped to my head while listening to the album. I could clearly see 1931's Frankenstein's Monster wake up from the dead to 'Progenies of the Cemetery'. The deadly music combined with a very cold, brutal, and horror-related mood, blended perfectly with the outstanding, eye-catching album cover. It really catches your attention, and thankfully, this attention won't go for waste. I guarantee you that you will get an unforgettable experience while listening to this demo.

    Certainly, Death Metal isn't for everyone, but CONGENITAL DEFORMITY makes sure that you will enjoy the demo, even if you're not a fan of the genre. Each second of the music was honey to my ears, and in addition, the release as a whole also presented itself decently and very ambitious.

I listened to the demo a few times, and surely I will come back to it many many times since it's just pure perfection. I advise each of you to give it a try, explore the death metal genre through this new and lovely release.

Ale zanim przejdę do rozpatrzenia tego konkretnego wydawnictwa, powiem trochę o naszym wspaniałym przyjacielu z Morbid Chapel Records! Bez jego black metalowego serca i jego hojności w wysyłaniu mi płyt CD, nie byłabym w stanie napisać tylu wciągających recenzji… czy nie?

W każdym razie, wielkie podziękowania dla MORBID CHAPEL RECORDS za dostarczenie mi tak wielu fajnych płyt i za wydawanie tak utalentowanych i ambitnych ekstremalnych projektów metalowych. Pozdrowienia dla wszystkich zespołów, MCR i fanów ekstremalnego metalu!

Wracając teraz do 16-minutowego wydawnictwa - „Progenies of the Cemetery” - muszę powiedzieć, że cztery death metalowe kawałki mogłyby mi wystarczyć, bo nie jestem wielką fanką tego gatunku, ale czy faktycznie wystarczyły?

    Cholernie niesamowite, okropne i śmiercionośne riffy chwyciły mnie od samego początku pierwszego utworu. Ich monotoniczne brzmienie było idealnie zbalansowane, nigdy nie było nudne, w przeciwieństwie do nudy, to specyficzne gitarowe brzmienie w połączeniu ze smakowitymi riffami było niezwykle wciągające. W połączeniu z perkusją, która miała bardzo wyrafinowane wykorzystanie blastów i delikatne, ale ambitne użycie blach, tworzyły świetną całość, która została podniesiona jeszcze wyżej przez bardzo zauważalną, harmonijną i przyzwoitą pracę basu. Muszę powiedzieć, że chociaż nie jestem aż tak ekstremalną fanką tego grindowego rodzaju wokali, to jednak bardzo mi się podobały na „Progenies of the Cemetery”. Doskonale współgrały z podkładem muzycznym i przyniosły nam klimat przypominający zimne, zakurzone lochy. Szczerze mówiąc, czułam się, jakbym była na koncercie w jakimś mrocznym lochu, otoczona ciemnością, brutalnością i piekielną ilością genialnej muzyki. Wyczuwalny był zapach oldschoolowego death metalu, ale nie sprawił, że demo było oldschoolową podróbką - w rzeczywistości dodało to wydawnictwu więcej: wyrafinowania, oddania i z pewnością podkreśliło perfekcjonizm, z jakim demo zostało zrobione.

Dodatkowo WSZYSTKO zostało wykonane przez Michele Labratti'ego - jak mógł wykonać wszystko sam i do tego sprawić, że udało się to bezbłędnie, a nawet dołączyć wspaniałe, głębokie i mroczne uczucia? Nie mam pojęcia, jak to zrobił, ale uważam, że nad tym wydawnictwem pracował naprawdę ciężko.

Jak wspomniałam wcześniej, każdy utwór ma klimat podobny do lochów, a dodatkowo podczas słuchania albumu do głowy wskoczyła mi odrobina scen z horrorów. Wyraźnie widziałam, jak Potwór Frankenstein'a z 1931 roku budził się z martwych do „Progenies of the Cemetery”. Zabójcza muzyka połączona z bardzo zimnym, brutalnym i mrocznym klimatem, idealnie komponowała się z wybitną, przyciągającą wzrok okładką albumu. Cała płyta naprawdę przyciąga twoją uwagę i na szczęście ta uwaga nie pójdzie na marne. GwarantujęWam, że słuchając tego demo otrzymacie niezapomniane wrażenia.

    Z pewnością Death Metal nie jest dla każdego, ale CONGENITAL DEFORMITY zapewnia, że ​​spodoba Wam się demo, nawet jeśli nie jesteście miłośnikami tego gatunku.  DYNAZTY– 'The Dark Delight' LP

 Sweden has always known about very good music, be it ABBA, which is popular and great for me, or great heavy metal bands such as Universe or Heavy Load, or the legendary Quorthon and his Bathory that represented Viking/Black metal. In the case of today's band, which I am reviewing, we are dealing here with Heavy / Power metal in which there is a hint of Hard Rock, electronic, and orchestral music inserts with light speed metal. It is not without reason that I wrote above about ABBA here, because, after the guitar and vocal melodies on this album, I can hear who the members of this band were modeling on. Please check out my review! 

 The Dynazty band is already quite familiar to me because once a good friend of mine asked me to listen to their song called 'The Human Paradox' from their album called 'Titanic Mass' (2016) and the song made a huge impression on me because I really liked the voice of Dynazty main vocalist, Nils Molina - the guy has a really huge vocal talent. He can pull out very high vocal registers and has a wide range of his voice, sometimes his singing and style remind me of the characteristic way of singing like the legendary and dead Heavy Metal God - Ronnie James Dio, so Nils drew his inspiration for singing from the highest shelf. Moving on to their latest album, 'The Dark Delight', I have to say that this is an album that has alternately delicious moments and slightly weaker, but as a whole, it is a really decent album. The production of this album itself is at a very high level and it is done a really good job on the part of the producer of this album (sometimes maybe it just bothers me that there are some elements of electronics and computer technology, where maybe it is overwhelmed in places, but that's just my tastes, for someone else it may be a big plus of this album) I will now write the songs that I liked the most on this release. The first is a track called 'The Black', great riffs and melodious guitar melodies, combined with a beautiful chorus and the characteristic melody of synthesizers and keyboards just like ABBA. All in all, this whole album is rich in various types of solos, transitions, and guitar melodies where I feel inspiration from a native (also from Sweden) artist, guitar virtuoso, and music from the genre of Neoclassical Power / Heavy metal, i.e. Yngwie Malmsteen. The next track 'Heartless Madness' is also a track with a great catchy melodic refrain. In 'The Man And The Elements' we have very nice guitar harmony. On the other hand, 'The Road To Redemption' is one of the most interesting compositions on this album - a combination of an acoustic guitar as if in the climates of the wild west / southern country rock with electric guitars. 

 To sum up, if you love the atmosphere of Heavy / Power metal with a bit of Hard Rock and Yngwie Malmsteen guitar playing style, this album and the band Dynazty is just for you! In addition, the singer of this musical formation is the strongest link in Dynazta and for his excellent voice, it is really worth getting acquainted with this material!

 Szwedzi od zawsze znali się na bardzo dobrej muzyce, czy to Popularna i świetna jak dla mnie ABBA, czy np. świetne zespoły heavy metalowe jak: Universe albo Heavy Load, lub legendarny już Quorthon i jego Bathory, który reprezentuję Viking / Black metal. W przypadku dzisiejszego zespołu, który recenzuję mamy tutaj do czynienia z Heavy/Power metalem w którym jest nutka Hard Rocku, wstawek z muzyki elektronicznej i orchestralnej z lekkim speed metalem. Nie bez powodu napisałem też wyżej tutaj o ABBIE ponieważ po melodiach gitarowych i wokalnych na tym albumie, słyszę na kim mocno wzorowali się członkowie tego zespołu. Zapraszam do mojej recenzji! 

 Dynazty w sumie jest mi już dosyć znany, ponieważ kiedyś mój dobry kolega polecił mi żebym posłuchał sobie ich utworu o nazwie ‘The Human Paradox’ z ich albumu o nazwie ‘Titanic Mass’ (2016) i rzeczywiście kawałek zrobił na mnie ogromne wrażenie, ponieważ strasznie spodobał mi się głos głównego wokalisty Dynazty czyli Nilsa Molina – gość ma naprawdę ogromny talent wokalny. Potrafi wyciągnąć bardzo wysokie rejestry głosowe i ma szeroką skale swojego głosu, miejscami jego śpiew i styl przypomina mi charakterystyczny sposób śpiewania jak u legendarnego już i nie żyjącego Boga Heavy Metalu czyli Ronniego Jamesa Dio, a więc Nils swoje inspiracje do śpiewania czerpał z najwyższej półki. Przechodząc do ich najnowszego albumu czyli ‘The Dark Delight’ muszę powiedzieć, że jest to album który ma jakby na przemian wyśmienite momenty jak i nieco słabsze, ale jako całość jest to naprawdę bardzo porządny album. Sama produkcja tego albumu jest na bardzo wysokim poziomie i jest wykonany naprawdę kawał dobrej roboty od strony producenta tej płyty (czasami może tylko przeszkadza mi, że jest trochę elementów elektroniki i techniki komputerowej, gdzie może jest miejscami jej aż przesyt, ale to tylko moje gusta, dla kogoś innego może to być wielki plus tego albumu) Napiszę teraz kawałki które najbardziej mi się spodobały na tym wydawnictwie. Pierwszym z nich jest utwór o nazwie ‘The Black’ świetne riffy oraz melodyjność gitar, połączona z pięknym refrenem i charakterystyczną melodyjnością syntezatorów i klawiszy właśnie jak u ABBY. W sumie to cały ten krążek jest bogaty w różnego rodzaju solówki, przejścia i melodie gitarowe gdzie wyczuwam inspiracje z rodzimego (bo również ze Szwecji) artysty, wirtuoza gitary i muzyki z gatunku Neoklasycznego Power/Heavy metalu czyli Yngwie Malmsteena. Kolejny kawałek ‘Heartless Madness’ to również kawałek ze świetnym chwytliwym melodycznym refrenem. W kompozycji ‘The Man And The Elements’ mamy bardzo ładne harmonie gitarowe. Natomiast ‘The Road To Redemption’ to jedna z najciekawszych kompozycji na tej płycie – połączenie gitary akustycznej jakby w klimatach dzikiego zachodu / southern country rocku z gitarami elektrycznymi. 

 Podsumowując, jeśli uwielbiasz klimaty Heavy/Power metalu z lekką domieszką Hard Rocka i gitarowego grania pokroju Yngwie Malmsteena to ten album i zespół Dynazty jest właśnie dla ciebie! Poza tym wokalista tej formacji muzycznej to najmocniejsze ogniwo Dynazty i dla jego wyśmienitego głosu, naprawdę warto zapoznać się z tym materiałem!

 SOUL DISSOLUTION – 'Winter Contemplations' EP

  Soul Dissolution is a fairly new band from Belgium performing Atmospheric/Post-Black metal. The musicians returned with their newest EP, which as the title itself indicates that it will be associated with the season - winter. This is also what the music on their latest EP sounds like, it sounds like cold, winter, and a fall of profuse snowflakes. Please read my short review of this release. 

  The whole EP lasts a total of 25 minutes and we only have two compositions on it, but these are long songs because both compositions last over ten minutes. The big plus of these compositions is the fact that both songs are very diverse and a lot is going on in them. The first piece of "La Dernière Tempête" greets us at the very beginning of the intro, which is a gust of wind (slowly from the very beginning of this album the band gives a clear frosty atmosphere of winter and its melancholic state, image) in this issue we have both atmospheric transitions, ambient inserts, as well as accelerations and what black metal fans love the most - riffs played in the tremolo technique, and drums blasts. The second composition on this EP is "Where The Clouds Stand Still ..." here at the beginning we have quite a long intro in which we will also hear orchestral inserts. The structure of the song is similar to the previous track from this album.

  To sum up, Soul Dissolution may not have presented anything new on this EP and what we have in the genre of Atmospheric Black metal and Post-Black metal music, but I think this EP is very pleasant to listen to. It is not a very raw black metal, but for people who love the winter period, contemplation by the window with a cup of hot coffee or tea, this is a perfect album! The music of this band actually reminds me a bit of the style of playing a one-man music project from Australia - Woods Of Desolation, so all fans of this band in Soul Dissolution will also find something that may be very enjoyable. It is a pity that there was no real winter and snowfall in Poland for so long, then this release would be even better and more atmospheric to listen to!

  Soul Dissolution to dość nowy zespół pochodzący z Belgii wykonujący muzykę z kręgu Atmosferycznego / Post-Black metalu. Muzycy powrócili ze swoją najnowszą EP-ką która jak już po samym jej tytule wskazuję, że będzie związana z porą roku – zimą. Taka właśnie jest również muzyka na ich najnowszej EP-ce brzmi jak chłód, zima i opad obfitych płatków śniegu. Zapraszam do mojej krótkiej recenzji tego wydawnictwa.  

  Całość EP-ki trwa w sumie 25 minut i mamy na niej tylko dwie kompozycję, ale są to utwory długie ponieważ obydwie kompozycję trwają powyżej dziesięciu minut. Na duży plus tych kompozycji zasługuję to, że oba utwory są bardzo różnorodne i dzieję się w nich bardzo wiele. Pierwszy kawałek „La Dernière Tempête’’ wita nas na samym początku intrem, który jest podmuchem wiatru (powoli od samego początku tej płyty zespół daje wyraźny mroźny klimat zimy i jej melancholijny stan, obraz) w tym numerze mamy zarówno klimatyczne przejścia, ambientowe wstawki, jak i przyśpieszenia i to co fani black metalu uwielbiają chyba najbardziej czyli riffy zagrane w technice tremolo, oraz blasty na perkusji. Druga kompozycja na tej EP-ce to „Where The Clouds Stand Still...” tu mamy na początku dość długie intro w którym usłyszymy również wstawki orchestralne. Utwór w sumie budową przypomina poprzedni numer z tej płyty.    

  Podsumowując, Soul Dissolution może nie zaprezentowało na tej EP-ce nic odkrywczego i nowego co mamy w gatunku muzyki Atmosferycznego Black metalu i Post-Black metalu to jednak tą EP-ke według mnie słucha się bardzo przyjemnie. Nie jest to może za bardzo jakiś surowy black metal, ale dla osób które uwielbiają okres zimowy, kontemplacje przy oknie z kubkiem gorącej kawy bądź herbaty, to jest to płyta idealna! Muzyka tego zespołu w sumie trochę przypomina mi styl grania jednoosobowego projektu muzycznego z Australii – Woods Of Desolation, więc wszyscy fani tego zespołu w Soul Dissolution również znajdą coś co może się im bardzo spodobać. Szkoda tylko, że w Polsce tak dawno nie było prawdziwej zimy i opadów białego puchu, wtedy to wydawnictwo słuchałoby się jeszcze lepiej i bardziej klimatycznie!

 ZLOSLUT - 'Sahar'

    Reviews done with cooperation with Morbid Chapel Records are back! Eight brand new reviews are coming, one each week. This week, by Morbid Chapel Records' kindness, I will take under my examination the latest release of ZLOSLUT - 'Sahar' (2019). 

With seven tracks marking the time of nearly 52 minutes, the release provides us a top-level black metal material, that'll leave you satisfied, but it'll not make you feel like you overdosed black metal. 

Reading all the titles and trying to grasp the main story of the album, I noticed that the titles are quite lengthy, but you can't really tell the entire story. They let you wander in the world of imagination, and taste the introduction to the band's creation.

You are beginning the journey of exploring the darkest corners of black metal by analyzing the exterior of the album, but as soon as you get deeper, into the interior of it, you'll truly understand what's the genre about, but most importantly - what the band's idea here was.

    Darkness, utter cold, and pain are being manifested since the very beginning. Those three characteristics seemed to me like the main points on which the album focused and tried to show us and let us feel them as well. 

The powerful, dark, and very frosty guitar riffs are perfectly balancing those three main characteristics, they blend them well together, and in addition, they allow all other components of the music shine with their own darkness as well.

The riffs wonderfully get along with the vocals, that somehow seemed to me also like an instrument - most likely a guitar, so that's why I chose to focus on them now. The vocals brought that otherworldly energy, that perfectly manifested the darkness, in which we should drown in while listening to the album, and also they completed the earlier mentioned guitar riffs. That cooperation was my rather favorite one, it manifested the importance of a so-called symphonic collaboration between the main instrument - vocals, and the backing instruments that are highlighting its role - the guitars. 

Coming to the drums now - they didn't really grip me on the first track, but the second track 'The Quest' - I fell in love with them. The aggression, passion, utter talent, and dedication really blew me off, gripped my heart, and made me surrender to its otherworldly craft. I can't express how mad I am about the drum work on this album in general - it's been a long time since I've heard something so brutal and passionate at the same time... 

The mighty darkness and grimness are very noticeable on 'SAHAR'... almost touchable... They are being painted with the music, to ensure our clear understanding of the deep, meaningful, and cold feelings, which they provide us. Besides getting all those black metal-related emotions, you get dark, mysterious pictures painted with brutal music, and I think that this is the most remarkable thing about 'Sahar'.

    Summing up, I think that 'Sahar' is a release that black metal supporters should have in their collection. It is a very unique, outstanding album, that not only delivers you brutal, cold, and dark music,  it also provides you a whole lot of various emotions combined with musically-painted pictures and visions.

The first track may not grip you right away, but I guarantee you that the second one will definitely blow you away.

    Recenzje zrobione przy współpracy z Morbid Chapel Records wracają! Pojawi się osiem zupełnie nowych recenzji, po jednej w każdym tygodniu. W tym tygodniu, dzięki uprzejmości Morbid Chapel Records, wezmę pod lupę najnowsze wydawnictwo ZLOSLUT - „Sahar” (2019).

Z siedmioma utworami wyznaczającymi czas prawie 52 minut, wydawnictwo dostarcza nam black metalowy materiał na najwyższym poziomie, który sprawi, że będziesz zadowolony, ale nie poczujesz się jakbyś przedawkował black metal.

Czytając wszystkie tytuły i próbując uchwycić główną ideę albumu, zauważyłam, że tytuły są dość długie, ale tak naprawdę nie można poznać po nich całej historii, pomysłu który zespół miał zamiar nam przekazać. Pozwalają one wędrować po świecie wyobraźni i zasmakować wstępu do albumu.

Rozpoczynasz podróż odkrywania najciemniejszych zakątków black metalu od analizy zewnętrznej strony albumu, ale gdy tylko zagłębisz się w jego wnętrze, naprawdę zrozumiesz, o co chodzi w tym gatunku, ale co najważniejsze - na czym polega idea 'Sahar'.

    Od samego początku objawia się ciemność, całkowity chłód i ból. Uważam, że te trzy cechy są głównymi punktami, na których skupiał się album i starał się nam je pokazać, a także pozwolić nam je poczuć i zrozumieć.

Potężne, mroczne i bardzo mroźne gitarowe riffy doskonale równoważą te trzy główne cechy, dobrze je łączą, a ponadto pozwalają, aby wszystkie inne elementy muzyki lśniły również własną ciemnością.

Riffy wspaniale współgrają z wokalami, które w jakiś sposób wydawały mi się również instrumentem - najprawdopodobniej gitarą, dlatego teraz zdecydowałam się na nich skupić. Wokale przyniosły nieziemską energię, która doskonale zamanifestowała mrok, w jakim powinniśmy się zatopić słuchając płyty, a także dopełniły wspomniane wcześniej gitarowe riffy. Ta współpraca była moją ulubioną, pokazała wagę tzw. symfonicznej współpracy głównego instrumentu - wokali, z akcentującymi jego rolę instrumentami podkładowymi - gitarami.

Przechodząc teraz do perkusji - tak naprawdę nie złapała mnie na pierwszym utworze, ale w drugim -  „The Quest” - zakochałam się w jej partiach. Agresja, pasja, całkowity talent i poświęcenie naprawdę mnie powaliły, chwyciły moje serce i sprawiły, że poddałam się nieziemskiemu rzemiosłu perkusisty. Nie potrafię w ogóle wyrazić, jak bardzo jestem zakręcona na punkcie z pracy na perkusji na tym albumie - dawno nie słyszałam czegoś tak brutalnego i jednocześnie namiętnego ... 

Potężna ciemność i ponurość są bardzo zauważalne na „SAHAR”… prawie dotykalne… Są namalowane muzyką, aby zapewnić nam jasne zrozumienie głębokich, znaczących i zimnych uczuć, które nam dostarczają. Oprócz tych wszystkich emocji związanych z black metalem, dostajesz mroczne, tajemnicze obrazy namalowane brutalną muzyką i myślę, że to jest najbardziej niezwykła rzecz w „Sahar”.

    Podsumowując, uważam, że „Sahar” to wydawnictwo, które zwolennicy black metalu powinni mieć w swojej kolekcji. To bardzo wyjątkowy, wybitny album, który nie tylko dostarcza brutalnej, zimnej i mrocznej muzyki, ale także całej masy różnorodnych emocji połączonych z malowanymi muzycznie obrazami i wizjami.

Pierwszy utwór może nie chwycić Cię od razu, ale gwarantuję, że drugi na pewno Cię rozwali.

 IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT – 'Alphaville' LP

I honestly admit that this is also my first contact with this band. Imperial Triumphant is a band from the United States playing Neoclassical / Avant-garde Black metal. I invite you to my short review of their album called - 'Alphaville' 

When I started listening to this album, I knew from the very first sounds that I was dealing with a really strange and original band. We have a really great mix of different kinds of music, not only metal. On this album, we will hear orchestral inserts, film-like music, death metal, organs, trumpets, and other additional instruments and musical genres - a really wide spectrum. Unfortunately, the chaos on this release is a bit messy for me and I had a hard time listening to this album, that is, I like the introduction of avant-garde and experimental music to metal, but here it didn't work out very well for me. I like musical chaos, but I like the so-called - 'ordered chaos' in the music world. It doesn't mean, however, that the whole album isn't bad and not deserves only some criticism. Of course not. The advantage of this album is that we have very interesting changes in the time signature, and different types of the tempo of the songs (they are very diverse), I can even be tempted to say that this band sounds a bit like the masters of progressive playing - King Crismon ( just as if King Crimson decided to play black metal) In places in this material we also have very interesting riffs, and a guitar melody and very creative various transitions as well as music-ambient inserts. In some moments, especially in the percussion sections, we have the drums sound like they were some African drums, which also gives a nice taste to this album. I sometimes associate the music of this band with experimental jazz music. 

To sum up, the album 'Alphaville' by Imperial Triumphant is not an album for fans of classic black metal, without some weirdness and introducing avant-garde to this genre of music. But for fans of experimental music, and I would even say psychedelic black metal, this album can be really good and fascinating. By the way, the style and sound of this band remind me of the Japanese band Sigh, whose members, also like Imperial Triumphant, like to play with metal music and introduce some interesting, original, and avant-garde inserts to black metal music.

Przyznam szczerze, że z tym zespołem również mam styczność po raz pierwszy. Imperial Triumphant to zespół pochodzący ze Stanów Zjednoczonych wykonujący Neoklasyczny / Awangardowy Black metal. Zapraszam do mojej krótkiej recenzji ich albumu o nazwie – ‘Alphaville’ 

Gdy zacząłem słuchać tego albumu, już od pierwszych dźwięków wiedziałem, że mam do czynienia z naprawdę dziwnym i oryginalnym zespołem. Mamy tutaj naprawdę wielką mieszankę różnych gatunków muzyki i to nie tylko metalowej. Na tej płycie usłyszymy: wstawki orchestralne, muzykę jakby filmową, death metal, organy, trąbki oraz inne dodatkowe instrumenty i gatunki muzyczne – naprawdę szerokie spektrum. Niestety chaos na tym wydawnictwie jest dla mnie trochę nieuporządkowany i słabo mi się słuchało tego albumu, to znaczy lubię bardzo wprowadzanie awangardy i eksperymentalnej muzyki do metalu, ale tutaj jak dla mnie to nie za bardzo wyszło. Lubię muzyczny chaos, ale lubię tak zwany – ‘uporządkowany chaos’ w świecie muzycznym. To jednak nie znaczy od razu, że całość albumu jest jakaś zła i zasługuję tylko na słowa krytyki. Oczywiście, że nie. Na plus na tym krążku zasługuję to, że mamy bardzo ciekawe zmiany metrum, oraz różnego rodzaju tempa utworów (są one bardzo różnorodne), mogę w sumie nawet pokusić się i powiedzieć, że ten zespół brzmi trochę jak mistrzowie progresywnego grania czyli – King Crismon (tylko jakby King Crimson postanowili grać black metal) Miejscami w tym materiale mamy również bardzo ciekawe riffy, oraz melodię gitarowe no i bardzo kreatywne różnego rodzaju przejścia oraz wstawki muzyczno – ambientowe.  W niektórych momentach zwłaszcza w sekcjach perkusyjnych mamy brzmienie bębnów jakby to były jakieś afrykańskie bębny, co daje też niezłe smaczki na tej płycie. Muzyka tego zespołu również czasami kojarzy mi się z eksperymentalną muzyką jazzową.

Podsumowując, album ‘Alphaville’ od Imperial Triumphant nie jest na pewno albumem dla fanów  klasycznego grania black metalu, bez jakiś udziwnień i wprowadzania awangardy do tego gatunku muzyki. To jednak dla fanów eksperymentalnej muzyki i wręcz bym powiedział psychodelicznego black metalu ten album może być naprawdę dobry i fascynujący. Swoją drogą styl tego zespołu jak i brzmienie kojarzy mi się z Japońskim zespołem Sigh, którego członkowie zespołu również jak Imperial Triumphant lubią bardzo bawić się muzyką metalową i wprowadzać jakieś ciekawe oryginalne, oraz awangardowe wstawki do muzyki black metalowej.
