SEPULCHRE BY THE SEA - 'Conqueror Worm'
An atmospheric black metal one-man project, hailing from Bristol, UK, has already released a demo and is on its way to release a full-length album.
The upcoming release is going to be titled 'Conqueror Worm' and will be released on the 6th of November. So don't worry - you have plenty of time to read the review, check out the past release, and get ready for the new album.
As the creator says, the album was born from a deep passion for all things post-black metal - so we can certainly expect a lot from SEPULCHRE BY THE SEA.
This time, I will take under my examination a not yet released album, but I'll still share a link to it - you will just have to wait until the release date, to listen to it.
Ladies and Gentlemen - SEPULCHRE BY THE SEA!
Starting with 'I Loved Alone' the album provides a strong intro and a clear insight upfront into the band's soul and musical style.
The beggining is rather different than the rest of the album, its very classical, delicate but somehow resonates all the characteristics that the band has, and has used throughout the whole album in order to create an astonishing kind of release.
Strong and mood influencial guitar riffs, perfectly suit up with the drums and bass. All the instruments cooperate perfectly together, but I would like to hear more of the depth and darker dimension at least in the drum parts. They sounded kind of stuck, or a bit flat, not scratched or violent, or whatever you would like them to be. They certainly had that black metal feeling to them, but it wasn't fully uncovered - and same with the guitars - the riffs were good, but I, personally, would prefer them to be deeper, maybe a bit less distorted.
I have to say that I extremely liked the way that the vocals were paired with the guitar - almost like a brutal symphony. They co-work, complete each other and make a dark coherent whole.
The vocals, as well as the musical background, were heavily mood influential. You certainly could feel the darkness and coldness that resonated through them, you could also feel the anger that was clearly one of the main of driving forces in the vocals.
Summing up, this rather short review, I can certainly tell you that the one-man project has a very high potential to stand strong and make a name for itself in the underground black metal community. It has all the characteristics that are needed, in order to let the listener dive into and later drown in the high-level music. I think, that November 6th will be a special date for all the fans of rather creative kind of black metal. The album surely shows us the creator's talent, as well as his determination to create and provide a listening-worthy brutal music. I hope for more releases after the album's unveil.

Nastrojowy, black metalowy, jednoosobowy projekt, pochodzący z Bristolu w Wielkiej Brytanii, wydał już demo i jest w drodze do wydania pełnego albumu.
Nadchodzące wydanie będzie nosiło tytuł „Conqueror Worm” i zostanie wydane 6 listopada. Więc nie martwcie się - macie mnóstwo czasu na przeczytanie recenzji, przejrzenie poprzedniego wydania i przygotowanie się na nowy album.
Jak mówi twórca, album narodził się z głębokiej pasji do wszystkiego, co post-black metal - więc z pewnością możemy się wiele spodziewać po SEPULCHRE BY THE SEA.
Tym razem poddam egzaminowi jeszcze nie wydany album, ale nadal udostępnię link do niego - wystarczy poczekać do daty premiery, żeby go posłuchać.

Począwszy od „I Loved Alone”, utwór zapewnia mocne intro i jasny wgląd w duszę zespołu i styl muzyczny.
Początek jest raczej inny niż reszta albumu, bardzo klasyczny, delikatny, ale w jakiś sposób rezonuje wszystkimi cechami, które zespół posiada i których używał przez cały album, aby stworzyć zadziwiający rodzaj wydawnictwa.
Mocne i nastrojowe riffy gitarowe, doskonale komponujące się z perkusją i basem. Wszystkie instrumenty doskonale ze sobą współpracują, ale chciałabym usłyszeć więcej głębi i ciemniejszego wymiaru przynajmniej w partiach perkusji. Bębny brzmiały jakby utknęły lub były 'płaskie', nie były porysowane ani agresywne, czy cokolwiek innego co powinno (moim zdaniem) być obecne w brutalnej grze black metalowej. Z pewnością miały one w sobie ten black metalowy feel, ale nie było to do końca pokazane - podobnie jak gitary - riffy były dobre, ale osobiście wolałabym, żeby były głębsze, może trochę mniej zniekształcone.
Muszę powiedzieć, że niesamowicie spodobał mi się sposób, w jaki wokale zostały zestawione z gitarą - prawie jak brutalna symfonia. Współpracują, uzupełniają się i tworzą mroczną spójną całość.
Duży wpływ na nastrój miał wokal, jak również tło muzyczne. Z pewnością dało się poczuć mrok i chłód, które przez nie rezonowały, dało się też poczuć złość, która była wyraźnie jedną z głównych sił napędowych wokali.
Podsumowując tę dość krótką recenzję, z pewnością mogę Wam powiedzieć, że ten jednoosobowy projekt ma bardzo duży potencjał, by stać się silnym i wyrobić sobie markę w podziemnej społeczności black metalowej. Ma wszystkie cechy, które są potrzebne, aby pozwolić słuchaczowi zanurzyć się w muzyce wysokiego poziomu, a później w niej utopić. Myślę, że 6 listopada będzie wyjątkową datą dla wszystkich fanów dość kreatywnego black metalu. Album z pewnością pokazuje talent twórcy, a także jego determinację w tworzeniu i dostarczaniu godnej słuchania brutalnej muzyki. Mam nadzieję na więcej wydawnictw w przyszłości.
