Nero or the Fall of Rome is an Italian epic black / doom metal formation. The band was formed in 2018 and released their first album on the 27th of April 2020. The release consists of eight tracks, one of them is instrumental, and marks the time of nearly 58 minutes.
The first track - 'The Cross of Nero' introduces us to the band's main idea and style in which they have decided to record the album. Each track contains catchy epic as well as dark guitar riffs, drums which are progressing very well in between different styles, hearable bass lines, and mood influencing doom/black metal vocals.
'Coils of Night' is a romantic track, sad-sounding, and quite mood impacting as well. This song brought out many emotions which I rarely show... The track was made of beautiful, catchy music, meaningful lyrics, and breathtaking vocals.
From what I noticed, the album is overloaded with emotions and hidden meaning. I like how the band tried to share their message and idea with us, and they didn't fail whatsoever. I can also say that the full album is quite a mood influential. Every song has something to it that puts you in different moods. It's almost as if the band's main goal was to transfer you to a whole other world and tell you a story which they had in mind, specifically created for the fans.
Each time I listened to the release, I felt like I was discovering more and more guitar riffs, hidden meaning, and so on. I feel like the album is some kind of a treasure chest, that lets you open itself only a little bit each time you listen to it. I don't know when I will finish opening that chest, but for sure, I have so many things to realize and discover about the release, that it'll take me some time.
Overall, I think that if you're into epic doom black metal, then you should give this band a shot. They have created such an outstanding album, which shows us a little bit different and extremely creative side of metal. In my opinion, the band still has a lot of stuff to show us, and I can already tell you that I'm waiting for their next release, which probably won't be anytime soon.

Nero or the Fall of Rome to włoski zespół epic black / doom metalowy. Zespół powstał w 2018 roku i wydał swój pierwszy album 27 kwietnia 2020 roku. Album składa się z ośmiu utworów, z których jeden ma charakter instrumentalny i trwa prawie 58 minut.
Pierwszy utwór - „The Cross of Nero” wprowadza nas w główny pomysł zespołu i styl, w jakim postanowili nagrać album. Każdy utwór zawiera chwytliwe epickie i mroczne gitarowe riffy, perkusję, która rozwija się bardzo dobrze w różnych stylach, słyszalne (!!!) linie basu i nastrojowy wokal doom / black metalowy. „Coils of Night” to romantyczny utwór, który brzmi dość smutno i bardzo wpływa na nastrój. Ta piosenka wzbudziła wiele emocji, które rzadko odczuwam ... Utwór powstał z pięknej, chwytliwej muzyki, tekstów z sensownym przesłaniem i zapierającego dech w piersiach wokalu.
Z tego, co zauważyłam, album jest przepełniony emocjami i ukrytym znaczeniem. Podoba mi się sposób, w jaki zespół próbował podzielić się z nami swoim przesłaniem i pomysłem. Mogę też powiedzieć, że pełny album ma duży wpływ na uczucia. Każda piosenka ma coś, co wprawia Cię w różne nastroje. To prawie tak, jakby głównym celem zespołu było przeniesienie Cię do innego świata i opowiedzenie historii, którą specjalnie stworzyli dla fanów. Za każdym razem, gdy słuchałem tego wydania, miałam wrażenie, że odkrywam coraz więcej gitarowych riffów, ukrytego znaczenia itd. Można powiedzieć, że album jest skrzynią ze skarbem, która pozwala otworzyć się tylko trochę za każdym razem, gdy go słuchasz. Nie wiem, kiedy skończę otwierać tę skrzynię, ale na pewno mam jeszcze wiele rzeczy do odkrycia na tym albumie i uważam, że zajmie mi to trochę czasu.
Jeśli siedzisz w epickim doomowym black metalu, powinieneś przesłuchać tego zespołu. Stworzyli tak wyjątkowy album, który pokazuje nam nieco inną i niezwykle kreatywną stronę metalu. Moim zdaniem zespół ma jeszcze wiele do pokazania i już mogę wam powiedzieć, że czekam na ich kolejne wydanie, które prawdopodobnie niestety nie nastąpi w najbliższym czasie.
