Welcome to the next part of the series ''Back To The Past'', 31 years ago on the same day, so on August 21, the 4th studio album of King Diamond - ''Conspiracy'' (1989) was released! An album that is a continuation of the story from the ''Abigail'' albums and ''Them''. This album has a horror atmosphere and climate films on such topics, but I will not delve into it too much, I describe the album only from the musical point of view.
The story invented by King is very interesting and I highly recommend it. This wonderful heavy metal disc starts with the song "At The Graves", which starts with a very atmospheric sound from the music box with a creepy melody, and then stable with an excellent melodic and atmospheric guitar riff. The whole album has an amazing atmosphere kept with fear, (good used keys and synthesizers in the background make it too). Also, King Diamond's vocal and his characteristic falsetto singing make it, which is loved by some, and hated by others. In the piece "At The Graves" the King, show the possibilities of his falsetto singing, for example in this fragment - Spirits rising from their grave! Throughout this track, we also have some great riffs (one better than the other), and it's hard to decide which riff is the best of this track, and the same goes for the solos on this track. Immediately after this track, we have another classic by King Diamond, which is a song - ''Sleepless night''. In this track, we have beautiful riffs and very nice and atmospheric parts of an acoustic guitar, the sound of which reminds me of an instrumental "Crystal Ann" intro from the band Annihilator. Coming back for a moment also to the riffs on this album, they often remind me of the Judas riffs from their album - "Painkiller". The next track of this album is "Lies" It's another portion of juicy riffs, the atmosphere of terror and King's mysterious voice as if from beyond the worlds. On this album, it is very difficult for me to choose the best composition because it is one of those metal albums where all the songs are at a very high level. The fourth number "A Visit From The Dead" (Privately my favorite track from this album) here we have a beautiful acoustic intro again, and then it all develops into one of the best guitar riffs on this album, in my opinion, it is impossible to not start with strong headbanging 😃 The piece after "A Visit From The Dead", is "The Wedding Dream", here, we have a melody from the opera Lohengrin by Richard Wagner from 1850 woven into the melody of the piece, with King it worked very mystically and darkly, fitting the whole "Conspiracy" album. Thanks to this, a very interesting and wise musical procedure was performed here. The next track is "Amon" Belongs to "Them" with very interesting riffs and guitar melodies. The guitar playing in the background on high notes is very nice here, it is worthy of harmony with the rhythm guitar. The next number is an instrumental track "Something Weird", which for Dungeon Synth fans can be a gem of this album because it has a very cool, dark, and interesting atmosphere. Listening to this instrumental, I felt like I was in a castle, in some chambers or dungeons. The whole atmosphere of this track also reminds me of the old game that is still on the pegasus platform - "Castlevania". The next track, "Victimized", is similar to the song on this album too - "A Visit From The Dead", which has a good riff too. Hard to not headbang to this track. Track number nine - "Let It Be Done" is like a preface to the last song on this album - "Cremation". The very last track just mentioned "Cremation" is a very good closing of this album, great riffs, and a melody in which you feel that the album is coming to an end.
To sum up, the King Diamond album - "Conspiracy" - is an absolute Must hear, for every heavy metal fans, to know this gem of brilliant riffs and climatic playing. It's a great music thing for all fans of horror movies from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. What's interesting is that this is the last album of the King, where the recording percussion part was recorded by the brilliant Mikkey Dee, and in song number seven "Something Weird" the guitarist from the band Judas Priest K.K. Downing played the guest guitar, this also proves that this album is so amazing because it was worked on by the legend of metal music.

Witamy w kolejnej części ‘’Back To The Past’’ dzisiejsze wspomnienie albumowe z przeszłości będzie wyjątkowe, ponieważ dokładnie 31 lat temu, tego samego dnia, a więc 21 sierpnia został wydany czwarty studyjny album Kinga Diamonda – "Conspiracy" (1989) Album, który jest kontynuacją historii z albumów "Abigail", oraz "Them". Właśnie dziś go mam przyjemność zrecenzować. Czwarty krążek Króla kontynuuję serię, o której opowiadają jego poprzednie dwa albumy, są one w klimacie horroru, grozy i klimacie filmów o takiej tematyce, ale nie będę się za bardzo zagłębiał w to, gdyż opisuję ten album tylko głównie od kwestii muzycznej. Natomiast sama historia wymyślona przez Diamonda jest bardzo ciekawa i serdecznie ją polecam.
Ten wspaniały Heavy metalowy krążek rozpoczyna utwór "At the graves", który zaczyna się bardzo klimatycznie od dźwięku pozytywki (jak dla mnie jest to chyba nakręcona pozytywka z creepy melodyjką), a później powoli wchodzi znakomity melodyczny i klimatyczny riff gitarowy. Całość ogólnie tej płyty, ma niesamowity klimat utrzymany z grozą, (to jest również dzięki bardzo dobremu użyciu klawiszy i syntezatorów w tle) Potem wchodzi wokal King Diamonda z jego charakterstycznym śpiewem falsetowym, który przez jednych jest uwielbiany, a przez innych znienawidzony. W kawałku "At The Graves" King pokazuję możliwości swojego falsetowego śpiewu choćby w tym fragmencie - "Spirits rising from their grave"!!!
Przez cały w sumie ten kawałek, mamy również porcję świetnych riffów za riffem, jeden lepszy od drugiego i aż trudno się zdecydować, który riff z tego utworu jest najlepszy, to samo dotyczy również tutaj solówek. Od razu po tym utworze, mamy kolejny klasyk Kinga Diamonda czyli utwór – "Sleepless Night". W tym dziele mamy piękne riffy, oraz bardzo ładne i klimatyczne wstawki gitary akustycznej, której brzmienie w sumie kojarzy mi się z insturmentalnym intrem "Crystal Ann" od zespołu Annihilator. Wracając jeszcze na chwilę także do riffów na tym albumie, to często kojarzą mi się one brzmieniowo z riffami Judasów z ich albumu – "Painkiller". Następny numer "Lies" – to kolejne porcję soczystych riffów, klimatu grozy no i tajemniczego głosu Kinga jakby zza światów. Na tym albumie bardzo ciężko według mnie wybrać najlepszą kompozycję, ponieważ to jeden z tych albumów metalowych, gdzie wszystkie kawałki są na bardzo wysokim poziomie. Czwarty numer "A Visit From The Dead" (Prywatnie mój ulubiony utwór z tej płyty) tutaj znowu mamy bardzo piękne akustyczne intro, a później rozwija się to wszystko według mnie w jeden z najlepszych riffów gitarowych na tym albumie, przy którym nie sposób powstrzymać się od rozpoczęcia mocnego headbangingu 😃 . Utwór po "A Visit From The Dead" , to "The Wedding Dream", tutaj co ciekawe w melodię utworu mamy wplecioną melodię z opery "Lohengrin" autorstwa Richarda Wagnera z 1850 roku, u Kinga zadziałało to bardzo mistycznie i mrocznie, pasując bardzo do całości albumu "Conspiracy". Dzięki temu został tutaj wykonany bardzo ciekawy i mądry zabieg muzyczny. Kolejny kawałek to "Amon" Belongs to "Them" na której mamy bardzo ciekawe riffy oraz melodię gitarowe. Bardzo fajnie wypada tu gitara grająca w tle na wysokich dźwiękach, jest w pięknej harmonii do gitary rytmicznej. Następny numer to w sumie przerywnik oraz uspokojenie albumu, instrumentalny utwór "Something Weird", który dla fanów dungeon synthów może być perełką tego albumu, ponieważ ma bardzo fajny, mroczny i ciekawy klimat. Ja słuchając tego instrumentala czułem się jakbym był w zamku, w jakichś komnatach lub lochach. Cały klimat tej kompozycji kojarzy mi się też ze starą grą która była jeszcze na platformie pegazus – z "Castelvanią". Kolejny utwór "Victimized", to numer, który jest nieco podobny do utworu numer cztery z tej płyty – "A Visit From The Dead", w którym mamy bardzo dobry riff do którego aż ciężko nie headbangować. Przedostatni kawałek "Let It Be Done" to swego rodzaju przedmowa, do ostatniego utworu na tej płycie, czyli do "Cremation". Sam ostatni utwór właśnie wspomniany przed chwilą "Cremation" jest bardzo dobrym zamknięciem tej płyty, świetne riffy i melodia w której czuć, że album zmierza do zakończenia.
Podsumowując płyta Kinga Diamonda – "Conspiracy" – to absolutny "Must hear", dla każdego fana heavy metalu, po prostu trzeba znać tą perełkę genialnych riffów i klimatycznego grania. Ponad to jest to świetna pozycja muzyczna dla wszystkich fanów horrorów z lat 70, 80 i 90. Co ciekawe również jest to ostatni album Króla gdzie w sesji nagraniowej partię perkusyjne nagrał genialny Mikkey Dee, a w utworze numer siedem - "Something Weird" na gitarze prowadzącej gościnie zagrał gitarzysta Judas Priest K. K. Downing, to właśnie świadczy też o tym, że ten album jest taki wybitny, bo pracowały nad nim legendy muzyki metalowej.
