First Anvil Concert in Poland (2014)

What a concert it was! Anvil played for the first time in Poland! after thirty years of existence. The Canadian Trio representing the genre of Heavy Metal and Hard Rock visited two Polish cities, Poznań and Wrocław. Due to the fact that I was closer to Poznań, I went to their concert in that city. I went to the concert with my friend Tomasz Christopher Kaczorowski, whom I cordially greet from this place!
A total of 6 years have passed since that concert and I can't quite remember it well, but the great concerts of great bands are never forgotten! This was also the case with Anvil this time. The band came to Poland being then on their tour called "Hope in Hell", which is the same name as their album which they were promoting then. When I visited 'Klub u Bazyla' in Poznań, what shocked me the most was the low attendance in the audience, and during the concert itself there was maybe a maximum of 30 people. For the first time, such a band plays in Poland and only just a few people? Of course, I could have expected it, because before this concert I watched a great documentary about the history of the band Anvil. A document entitled "Anvil! The Story Of Anvil ”deserved all the awards he received. A material that I think can be viewed by all those who have doubted their dreams and lost energy to pursue them. This team really is a great example that with work you can go to everything and putting effort into what we love gives us the desired success. Anvil finally, at the beginning of his career, performed in front of bands such as Metallica, Guns N 'Roses, and Motörhead (even Lemmy himself, when asked about Anvil's band, admired them very much and remembered them very well) Later, Anvil in his career was simply badly led, probably by his managers that's why they were forgotten and not as successful as the bands I mentioned above, Metallica and Guns N 'Roses, but Anvil, despite adversities, continues to work hard and make their music, and I adore them for that. They show that good art and music will defend itself. Privately, I even like their music more than the works of Guns N 'Roses or other great popular bands. Anvil shows that publicity in music and in the musical world is not so important. The most important thing is truth, heart, and being yourself in music that you simply love and are their whole life for them. Really drummer Robb Reiner and Steve "Lips" Kudlow, vocalist and guitarist Anvil showed me what the will to fight is and what metal music is about, and why for me it is the best music in the world. The members of Anvil are very sensitive people with a big heart for this music. Coming back to the concert itself. Anvil was really in great shape on it! Great setlist, the band played all my favorite pieces from the albums, which they respect the most from this band, namely albums - "Hard 'n' Heavy" (1981), "Metal On Metal"(1982), and "Forged In Fire"(1983 ) Robb Reiner, the drummer Anvil, made the most impression on me - what a drumming workshop he has! When he played his drum solo at this concert, I just couldn't take my eyes off his playing! Due to the fact that there were not too many people, the whole concert took on a very nice and cozy atmosphere. After the concert, you could talk to the members of Anvil in peace, take photos with them, and they were very happy to sign CDs and T-shirts. Really nice and very positive guys.
To sum up, the concert of Anvil, although it passed very quietly in Poland and quickly passed into Aether, I will never forget it! For me, these guys really play a decent mix of Canadian Hard Rock and Heavy Metal and I really enjoy listening to them. This is the concert that I will remember forever and one of the best I have attended so far in the Heavy / Hard Rock Metal genre. I hope Anvil will come to Poland again sometime in the future!

Cóż to był za koncert! Anvil zagrało wtedy po raz pierwszy w Polsce! po trzydziestu latach istnienia. Kanadyjskie Trio reprezentujące gatunek Heavy Metalu i Hard Rocka zawitało do dwóch Polskich miast, do Poznania, oraz do Wrocławia. Ja z racji tego, że bliżej miałem do Poznania wybrałem się na ich koncert właśnie do tego miasta. Na koncert wybrałem się z moim kolegą Tomaszem Christopherem Kaczorowskim, którego z tego miejsca serdecznie pozdrawiam!
Od tego koncertu minęło już w sumie 6 lat i nie do końca mogę go dobrze pamiętać, ale znakomitych koncertów świetnych zespołów nigdy się nie zapomina! Tak było i tym razem w przypadku Anvil. Zespół zawitał do Polski będąc wtedy na swojej trasie koncertowej o nazwie „Hope in Hell” czyli nazwy takiej samej jak ich album który wtedy obecnie promowali. Kiedy zawitałem do „Klubu u Bazyla” w Poznaniu najbardziej zszokowała mnie niska frekwencja na publice, a podczas trwania samego koncertu było może maksymalnie z 30 osób. Taki zespół gra po raz pierwszy w Polsce i tylko tyle osób? Oczywiście mogłem się tego spodziewać, ponieważ przed tym koncertem obejrzałem świetny film dokumentalny właśnie o historii zespołu Anvil. Dokument pod tytułem „Anvil! The Story Of Anvil” bardzo zasłużył sobie na wszystkie przyznane mu nagrody. Materiał, który według mnie mogą obejrzeć wszystkie osoby, które zwątpiły w swoje marzenia i straciły energię do ich dążenia. Ten zespół naprawdę jest świetnym przykładem tego, że pracą można dojść do wszystkiego i włożenie wysiłku w to co kochamy daje nam upragniony sukces. Anvil w końcu na początku swojej kariery występował przed takimi zespołami Jak Metallica, Guns N’ Roses czy Motörhead (nawet sam Lemmy zapytany o zespół Anvil bardzo ich podziwiał i świetnie wspominał) Później Anvil w swojej karierze po prostu był źle poprowadzony prawdopodobnie przez swoich menadżerów, dlatego zostali zapomniani i nie odnieśli takich sukcesów jak wyżej wspomniane przeze mnie zespoły czyli Metallica i Guns N’ Roses, ale Anvil mimo przeciwności losu dalej ciężko rzetelnie pracują i robią swoją muzykę, i cholernie ich za to podziwiam. Pokazują, że dobra sztuka i muzyka sama się obroni. Prywatnie nawet ich muzyka bardziej mi się podoba niż twórczość Guns N’ Roses czy innych wielkich popularnych zespołów. Anvil pokazuję, że rozgłos w muzyce i w świecie muzycznym nie jest tak ważny. Najważniejsza jest prawdziwość, serce i bycie sobą w muzyce, którą po prostu się kocha i jest dla nich całym ich życiem. Naprawdę perkusista Robb Reiner i Steve „Lips” Kudlow wokalista i gitarzysta Anvil pokazali mi czym jest wola walki i na czym polega muzyka metalowa, no i dlaczego dla mnie prywatnie jest to najlepsza muzyka na świecie. Członkowie Anvil to pełni wrażliwości ludzie, z wielkim sercem dla tej muzyki. Wracając teraz do samego koncertu. Anvil byli naprawdę na nim w świetnej formie! Świetna setlista, zespół zagrał wszystkie moje ulubione kawałki z płyt, które najbardziej szanuje od tego zespołu, a są to mianowice albumy – „Hard ‘n’ Heavy (1981) „Metal On Metal” (1982) oraz „Forged In Fire” (1983) Najbardziej wrażenie zrobił na mnie Robb Reiner czyli perkusista Anvil – cóż on ma za warsztat z gry na perkusji! Kiedy zagrał na tym koncercie swoją solówkę na bębnach po prostu nie mogłem oderwać od jego gry oczu! Cały koncert dzięki temu, że nie było zbyt wielu osób nabrał bardzo fajnej i przyjemnej kameralnej atmosfery. Po koncercie można było na spokojnie porozmawiać z członkami Anvil, zrobić sobie z nimi zdjęcia, oraz bardzo chętnie podpisywali płyty i koszulki. Naprawdę przyjemni i bardzo pozytywni goście.
Podsumowując, Koncert Anvil chociaż przeszedł jakoś bardzo cicho w Polsce i szybko odszedł w Eter to nigdy go nie zapomnę! Dla mnie ci goście naprawdę grają porządną mieszanke Kanadyjskiego Hard Rocka z Heavy metalem i strasznie lubię ich słuchać. Jest to ten koncert który będę miał na zawsze wpisany w pamięci i jeden z najlepszych na których byłem jak do tej pory z gatunku Heavy/Hard Rock Metalu. Mam nadzieję, że Anvil ponownie kiedyś w przyszłości znów zawita do Polski!
