CINEREOUS RAIN – 'Cinereous Rain'
Cinereous Rain is an international music project in the Atmospheric Black / Death metal genre, for which two musicians are responsible - Eugen Kohl operating under the artistic pseudonym - 'Gnev' from Germany, who took care of all instrument parts on this album, and David Freire operating under the pseudonym artistic Morto 'Malduchryst' Funus, who comes from Ecuador and on this album is responsible for the vocals and the text layer of all compositions. I cordially invite you to my review and report from the audition of their joint album. Where the support and music release on this album was once again taken over by the reliable and dynamically operating label - Mara Productions.
At the outset, I would like to mention that the whole album and the sound of the composition sound perfect and it fits the Atmospheric Black genre with the influence of Death Metal. Here we have the atmosphere and the sound of the vocals and all the instruments associated with: rage, aggression, and chaos, everything that fits perfectly with these two musical genres. After my first and second listening to this album, I felt a certain intensity of the rhythm and the way of playing riffs, which I associate with the atmosphere of such black metal bands as Paysage d'Hiver (Switzerland) and Blut Aus Nord (France), I mean the similarity in the issue of a certain intensity and the ability to put the listener into a trance with your music. While listening to this album of Cinereous Rain, I felt something similar. This album deserves a big plus: production, mix, and mastering. Everything is clearly audible, it is loud, and we also have everything perfectly emphasized (I mean the vocals and instruments), which makes this album sound and in itself very powerful, and at the same time you can hear in the background a little noise characteristic of black metal, which is correct and I give the whole release an even more magical atmosphere while listening. The only downside (but it also depends on the fact that everyone has different musical tastes) is that I did not like a bit, that some riffs are kind of repetitive, they flew over and over again and too little is happening in each composition. Privately, I like when a given piece, and generally, in music, a lot happens in one piece - there is, for example, an interesting transition, the original ending of the piece, etc. Here we have one constant rhythm, good, and sometimes even very decent riffs, and a constant speed, track speed. Which is not a bad thing, of course, because a fan of extreme music and black metal characterized by the fact that the whole album does not slow down from start to finish can be a great asset. Looking at the vocal on this album, it is mainly in the screaming style (Harsh, growl vocal). On the other hand, its absolute plus is the praise of the percussion and rhythm sections on this release. Perfect, fast blasts, and a very good recording of the sound of cymbals. 'Gnev' did a great job on this album.
To sum up, the project and the album 'Cinereous Rain' from Cinereous Rain is something very interesting. I look forward to seeing if the collaboration of these two musicians will bring any more releases. For all fans of extreme atmospheric black metal mixed with death metal, it is definitely a very interesting and good position. It is also worth emphasizing that on this album, the use of ambients, e.g. at the beginning of the intro songs or in the endings of the songs, i.e. where the outro - all these ambients very well emphasize the atmosphere of the whole music played by Cinereous Rain. These ambient sounds like frozen lava or a volcano waking up to life, and the sounds like from the abyss of hell with the sounds of the wind reminiscent of the coming of winter. This gives a very beautiful combination of the rawness, coldness of black metal mixed with power and fire from solidified lava - which in this case is all the instruments on this album and a sharp strong vocal. I heartily recommend buying this CD and just enjoying the beautiful sound of raw good black metal playing.

Cinereous Rain to międzynarodowy projekt muzyczny z gatunku Atmoshperic Black / Death metalu, za który odpowiedzialny jest dwoje muzyków – Eugen Kohl działający pod pseudonimem artystycznym - ‘Gnev’ pochodzący z Niemiec i na tym krążku zajął się wszystkimi partiami instrumentów, oraz David Freire działający pod pseudonimem artystycznym Morto ‘Malduchryst’ Funus, który pochodzi z Ekwadoru i na tej płycie odpowiedzialny jest za partię wokali, oraz warstwę tekstową wszystkich kompozycji. Serdecznie zapraszam na moją recenzję i relację z przesłuchania ich wspólnej płyty. Gdzie wsparcie oraz wydawnictwo muzyczne nad tym krążkiem znowu objęła niezawodna i prężnie działająca wytwórnia – Mara Productions.
Na wstępie napiszę, że całość tej płyty oraz brzmienie kompozycji brzmi idealnie i pasuję właśnie do gatunku Atmosferycznego Blacku z wpływem Death Metalu. Mamy tutaj atmosferę oraz brzmienie wokalu i wszystkich instrumentów kojarzącą się z: wściekłością, agresją i chaosem, wszystko to co pasuję idealnie do tych dwóch gatunków muzycznych. Po moim pierwszym, oraz drugim przesłuchaniu tej płyty odczułem pewną intensywność rytmu, oraz sposób grania riffów, które kojarzą mi się z klimatami takich zespołów black metalowych jak: Paysage d'Hiver (Szwajcaria) i Blut Aus Nord (Francja) chodzi mi o podobieństwo w kwestii pewnej intensywności i umiejętności wprowadzenia swoją muzyką słuchacza w trans. Podczas słuchania właśnie tej płyty ‘Cinereous Rain’ poczułem coś podobnego. Na duży plus zasługuję na tym albumie jego: produkcja, mix, a także mastering. Wszystko jest wyraźnie słychać, jest głośno, oraz mamy także wszystko doskonale podkreślone (mam na myśli wokale i instrumenty) przez co ten album w brzmieniu i sam w sobie ma dużą moc, a jednocześnie słychać w tle trochę charakterystyczny dla black metalu szum, który jest prawidłowy i nadaję całemu wydawnictwu jeszcze bardziej magicznego klimatu podczas słuchania. Jedynym minusem (ale to też zależne od tego, że każdy ma inne gusta muzyczne) jest to, że trochę nie spodobało mi się, że niektóre riffy są jakby powtarzalne, leciały w kółko i w każdej kompozycji zbyt mało się dzieje. Prywatnie lubię gdy w danym utworze i ogólnie w muzyce w samym jednym kawałku dzieje się sporo – jest np. ciekawe przejście oryginalne zakończenie utworu itp. Tutaj mamy raczej od początku do końca jeden stały rytm, dobre, a czasami wręcz nawet bardzo przyzwoite riffy i stałą szybkość, prędkość utworu. Co nie jest oczywiście niczym złym, ponieważ fan ekstremalnego grania oraz black metalu charakteryzującego się tym, że cały album nie zwalnia od początku do końca może być wielki atutem. Patrząc na wokal na tym albumie jest on głównie w stylu – krzyczącym (Harsh, growl vocal) Natomiast absolutnym wielkim plusem jest pochwalenie na tym wydawnictwie sekcji perkusyjnych i ogólnie rytmicznych. Perfekcyjne szybkie blasty, oraz bardzo dobre nagranie brzmienia blach. ‘Gnev’ na tym albumie zrobił kawał dobrej roboty.
Podsumowując, projekt i płyta 'Cinereous Rain' od Cinereous Rain jest czymś bardzo ciekawym. Z niecierpliwością czekam, czy współpraca tych dwóch muzyków przyniesie jakieś kolejne wydawnictwa. Dla wszystkich fanów ekstremalnego atmosferycznego black metalu wymieszanego z death metalem jest to na pewno bardzo ciekawa i dobra pozycja. Warto podkreślić także, że na tym albumie użycie ambientów np. na początku utworów w intrze lub w zakończeniach utworów, czyli tam gdzie outro – bardzo dobrze wszystkie te ambienty podkreślają klimat całej muzki granej przez Cinereous Rain. Brzmią te ambienty jak budząca się do życia zastygła lawa lub wulkan, a odgłosy jak z czeluści piekieł z dźwiękami wiatru przypominającą nadejście zimy. To daje bardzo piękne połączenie surowości, zimności black metalu wymieszanego z mocą i ogniem z zastygłej lawy – która w tym przypadku jest wszystkimi instrumentami na tej płycie i ostrym mocnym wokalem. Serdecznie polecam zakupić te płytę i po prostu cieszyć się pięknym brzmieniem surowego dobrego black metalowego grania.
