Today, another concert memory! Even though it's been 4 years since that event, I still feel like it was yesterday! The real fathers of Power Metal and the band that had a great influence on the development of this metal genre, Helloween under the leadership of Kai Hansen. I cordially invite you to my memories of this event.
When I found out that Helloween will play a concert in Poland, I was extremely happy, but when I read even more about the details of this concert, I was moved, because Kai Hansen and my favorite vocalist (and privately also my favorite voice from all over the world of music returned to the band. not only metal) - Michael Kiske! At first, I thought that it wasn't really happening, just that I was dreaming. Whoever is a fan of this music group like me, probably knows that the members of the band were very quarreling with each other at one time. I think Kai Hansen was in a dispute with Michael Kiske, among others. Some say that the reason for the disputes between them was that on their 4th album - "Chameleon" from 1993, some of the then line-up Helloween experimented with music a lot and on this album, they seemed to depart from their typical Power / Speed metal playing, and they went into what I think can be called more Melodic / Hard, Alternative Rock. I think it was Kiske who left metal very much at that time and wanted to record something completely different and calmer. This disliked Helloween drummer, the tragically deceased Ingo Schwichtenberg, who committed suicide in 1995. He was the one who liked the Helloween style the most. From "Walls of Jericho" (1985) to "Keeper of the Seven Keys Part II" (1988) Of course, these are all just presumptions and rumors heard somewhere from Helloween fans who tried to be always close to your beloved band and find out everything about them. As it really was, I think that only the musicians themselves know what exactly they were arguing about, and we fans can only guess and guess. Anyway, after so many years, the musicians finally reconciled, which resulted in the fact that in Helloween we have 3 vocalists on stage during the concert (Andy Deris, Michael Kiske, and a guitarist and vocalist from Helloween's debut, the co-founder of this band, Kai Hansen). I already felt that I would hear my beloved songs of this band, in such a line-up where I would have the pleasure to hear and see my idol - Michael Kiske so I was super excited and I was looking forward to the concert day! When that day of the Helloween concert in Poland came (exactly in Hala Koło in Warsaw), I remember that moment very well. It was quite cold then, probably around -10 degrees Celsius at night, and of course, due to the fact that I was very excited about this event, I forgot the XD jacket from home and I had 2 hours (Before the organization of the whole event started letting people into the hall) - just wait. All in all, it was very cool, because now I have something to remember and the thought that I would see my beloved band soon really warmed me up. And finally! Fans were let into the Hala Koło building and the whole show started. The curtain goes down! To start with energy right away song - "Halloween" I was at this concert with my friend from my former band and I remember we screamed and sang this song so much that after the concert he and I just lost our voice and we had a lot of hoarseness. I must praise here how the musician's established Setlist in concert because she was really incredibly good. The band played practically all my favorite songs from my favorite Helloween albums. I shed my tears the most with the songs: "A Tale That Wasn't Right", "Forever and One" (Neverland), "Eagle Fly Free", "Keeper of the Seven Keys", "Future World" "I Want Out" And now the last ones songs that really impressed me and squeezed tears from my eyes to the end, that is - Medley songs from "Walls Of Jericho" (in private I consider this album along with the "Thundersteel" (1998) by the band Riot to be bible speed metal and how should this genre of music be played) "Starlight / Ride The Sky / Judas - Kai Hansen and his incredible power and emotions that can be heard in his guitar and voice, that he really plays from the heart and passion. And finally, my number one track played at this concert (when it comes to the way it is performed live) or "How Many Tears" - just the lyrics, the vocal melody in this track, and the guitar parts make me mega moving. For me, this composition is a real power metal masterpiece!
To sum up, for me, this concert of Helloween, with such a line-up, was a really amazing experience, something unique and magical. Of course, Michael Kiske made the most impression on me, 30 years after the release of "Keeper Of The Seven Keys" Part I and II, having the same vocal as then in the past is something extraordinary and amazing for me. In general, the first 3 albums in the Helloween discography are for me, privately, also in my top 10 list of my favorite metal records. In the end, I think that if the Helloween team is back together and they are at peace with each other, then up there from heaven or wherever Ingo is now their first drummer to kill himself. He looks down on them now, is proud of them, and happy that they have returned to real power/speed metal. Helloween, in my opinion, is now experiencing its "second youth". I am looking forward to their next concert in Poland and I will certainly go there. Especially since Helloween announced that at the beginning of April this year they will release a new song, a single called "Skyfall", on which Kiske will also be on vocals. I can not wait. It is also worth emphasizing that the second singer of Helloween - Andi Deris presented himself very interestingly and nicely at this concert. Although, unfortunately, I will never be a fan of his voice and I just don't like his style. Kiske is forever for me!

Dzisiaj kolejne wspomnienie koncertowe i to jakie! Chociaż od tego wydarzenia minęło już 4 lata, ja nadal czuję jakby to było wczoraj! Prawdziwi ojcowie Power Metalu i zespół, który miał bardzo wielki wpływ na rozwój tego gatunku metalu czyli Helloween pod wodzą Kai Hansena. Serdecznie zapraszam do mojego wspomnienia tego eventu.
Kiedy dowiedziałem się, że Helloween zagra koncert w Polsce niesamowicie się ucieszyłem, ale kiedy przeczytałem jeszcze więcej o szczegółach tego koncertu to aż się wzruszyłem, ponieważ do zespołu powrócił Kai Hansen i mój ulubiony wokalista (a prywatnie także mój ulubiony głos z całego świata muzyki, nie tylko metalowej) – Michael Kiske! Na początku w sumie myślałem, że to się nie dzieje naprawdę tylko, że śnie. Kto jest fanem tej grupy muzycznej tak jak ja, to wie zapewne, że członkowie zespołu swego czasu byli bardzo ze sobą pokłóceni. Między innymi chyba Kai Hansen był w sporze z Michaelem Kiske. Niektórzy twierdzą, że powodem sporów miedzy nimi było to, że na ich 4 albumie czyli – „Chameleon” z 1993 roku część z ówczesnego składu Helloween bardzo eksperymentowała z muzyką i właśnie na tym albumie jakby odeszli od swojego typowego Power/Speed metalowego grania, a poszli w coś co według mnie można nazwać już bardziej Melodic/Hard, Alternative Rockiem. Chyba właśnie Kiske odszedł w tamtym okresie mocno od metalu i chciał nagrać coś zupełnie innego i bardziej spokojniejszego. To bardzo nie spodobało się perkusiście Helloween, tragicznie zmarłemu Ingo Schwichtenbergowi, który popełnił samobójstwo w 1995 roku. On właśnie najbardziej lubił styl grania Helloween Od „Walls of Jericho” (1985) do "Keeper of the Seven Keys Part II" (1988) Oczywiście to wszystko to tylko domniemania i plotki usłyszane gdzieś tam od fanów Helloween, którzy starali się być zawsze blisko swojej ukochanej kapeli i wszystkiego się o nich dowiedzieć. Jak było naprawdę, myślę że tylko sami muzycy wiedzą o co dokładnie się pokłócili, a my fani możemy tylko się domyślać i gdybać. W każdym bądź razie po tylu latach muzycy w końcu się pogodzili czego efektem jest to, że w Helloween mamy podczas koncertu 3 wokalistów na scenie (Andiego Derisa, Michaela Kiske, oraz gitarzystę i wokalistę z debiutu Helloween, współzałożyciela tego zespołu czyli Kai Hansena) Kiedy już czułem, że usłyszę moje ukochane kawałki tego zespołu, i to w takim składzie gdzie będę miał przyjemność na żywo usłyszeć i zobaczyć swojego idola – Michaela Kiske no to byłem mega podekscytowany i z niecierpliwością czekałem już tylko na dzień koncertu! Kiedy już nadszedł ten dzień zobaczenia Helloween w Polsce (dokładnie w Hali Koło w Warszawie) doskonale pamiętam i wspominam ten moment. Było wtedy dość zimno, w nocy chyba około -10 stopni Celsjusza, a ja oczywiście z racji tego że byłem bardzo podjarany tym wydarzeniem zapomniałem z domu kurtki XD i musiałem 2 godziny (zanim organizacja całego wydarzenia zaczęła wpuszczać ludzi do hali) - po prostu czekać. W sumie to było fajne bardzo, bo teraz mam co wspominać, a myśl, że niedługo zobaczę swój ukochany zespół naprawdę mnie rozgrzewała. No i w końcu! Wpuszczono fanów do budynku Hali Koło i całe przedstawienie się zaczęło. Kurtyna w dół! Na start od razu z energią utwór –"Halloween" Byłem na tym koncercie z moim kolegą z mojego byłego zespołu i pamiętam, że tak się darliśmy i śpiewaliśmy ten utwór, że po koncercie on i ja po prostu straciliśmy głos i mieliśmy dużą chrypkę. Muszę tutaj pochwalić jak muzycy ustalili Setliste koncertową bo była naprawdę niesamowicie dobra. Zespół zagrał praktycznie wszystkie moje ulubione kawałki z moich ulubionych również płyt Helloween. Najbardziej uroniłem łzy przy utworach: "A Tale That Wasn’t Right", "Forever and One"(Neverland), "Eagle Fly Free" "Kepper of the Seven Keys", "Future World" "I Want Out" I teraz ostatnie utwory, które zrobiły na mnie naprawdę największe wrażenie i do końca wycisnęły z moich oczu łzy wzruszeń, czyli – Medley kawałków z „Walls Of Jericho” (prywatnie uważam te płytę obok ''Thundersteel" (1988) zespołu Riot za biblie speed metalu i jak powinno się grać ten gatunek muzyki właśnie) "Starlight/Ride The Sky/Judas" – czyli Kai Hansen i jego niesamowita moc i emocje, które słychać w jego gitarze i głosie, że gra on naprawdę od serca i pasji. No i na koniec mój mumer jeden kawałek zagrany na tym koncercie (jeśli chodzi o sposób jego wykonania na żywo) czyli "How Many Tears" – po prostu tekst, melodia na wokal w tym utworze i partie gitarowe mnie mega wzruszają. Dla mnie ta kompozycja to prawdziwe power metalowe arcydzieło!
Podsumowując, dla mnie ten koncert Helloween i to w takim składzie był naprawdę niesamowitym przeżyciem, czymś wyjątkowym i magicznym. Najbardziej wrażenie zrobił na mnie oczywiście Michael Kiske, po 30 latach od wydania "Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part I i II"mieć taki sam wokal jak wtedy właśnie w przeszłości to jest dla mnie coś niebywałego i niesamowitego. Ogólnie 3 pierwsze płyty w dyskografii Helloween są dla mnie prywatnie również w moim top 10 zestawieniu moich ulubionych płyt metalowych. Na koniec tak sobie myślę, że jeśli ekipa Helloween jest znowu razem i są ze sobą pogodzeni, to tam na górze z nieba czy gdziekolwiek teraz jest Ingo ich pierwszy perkusista, który popełnił samobójstwo. To on patrzy teraz na nich z góry, jest z nich dumny i szczęśliwy, że wrócili do prawdziwego grania power/speed metalu. Helloween według mnie przeżywa teraz swoją „drugą młodość” Bardzo czekam na ich kolejny koncert w Polsce i z pewnością się na niego wybiorę. Zwłaszcza, że Helloween zapowiedzieli, że na początku kwietnia tego roku wydadzą nowy utwór, singiel o nazwie "Skyfall" na którym właśnie Kiske też będzie na wokalu. Nie mogę się doczekać. Warto także podkreślić, że na scenie na tym koncercie bardzo ciekawie i fajnie zaprezentował się także drugi wokalista Helloween – Andi Deris. Chociaż niestety nigdy chyba nie będę fanem jego głosu i po prostu jego styl mi nie podchodzi. Kiske dla mnie jest na pierwszym miejscu już na zawsze!
