IRONSWORD – ''Servants Of Steel'' LP

Today we have a Heavy Metal hit. I admit that this is the first time I deal with this band, but I perceive it very well and I like the music that represents Ironsword - heavy metal straight from Portugal.
After listening to this album for the first time, I was actually a bit disappointed. Some riffs and melodies in particular tracks on this release gave the impression that they were repeated very often and were not very original. In addition, the whole sound quality, mix, and mastering do not work well together. I mean - instrumentally it is very beautiful here, you can clearly hear the sound of the guitar riffs (It is here with a bright and warm timbre, very metallic) but I mean the vocal sound on this album in relation to the rest of the instruments, ambient on this album. In my opinion, the vocal on this disc is too quiet (I would put it louder and more forward, and here it sounds muffled and somewhere behind the rest of the instruments) but these are the last drawbacks of this album in my opinion. Now let's move on to the big pluses of this material. Ironsword represents a very classic heavy metal with sound from the 80s and 90s. I like it very much because I am a fan of classic and epic heavy metal playing, and less like this heavy metal with a new sound, where the advantage is the sound of computers, technology in the settings guitars, etc. When I listened to ''Servants Of Steel'' - bands that could be an inspiration for Ironsword, such as Omen, Manilla Road, Manowar, or Battlerage (you can feel these similarities especially in the vocals and guitar parts during melodies and riffs) there are a few gems on the album, I mean interesting melodies and riffs, however, the number one track that I liked so much on this release is composition number 10 - "Black Colossus" - a really great melody of guitars, riffs and guitar harmony in general (a bit familiar like the way it is in the Iron Maiden style)
All in all, if you are a fan of the epic good heavy metal of the 80s and 90s this album is just for you. In addition, this album may be very interested in fans of Conan the Barbarian, because the band very often refers to the history and adventures of this hero in their lyrics.

Dzisiaj mamy uderzenie Heavy Metalowe. Przyznam, że po raz pierwszy mam do czynienia z tym zespołem, ale bardzo dobrze go odbieram i podoba mi się muzyka jaką reprezentuję Ironsword – czyli heavy metal prosto z Portugalii. Zapraszam na moją recenzję.
Po pierwszym przesłuchaniu tego krążka, w sumie byłem trochę zawiedziony. Niektóre riffy, oraz melodię w poszczególnych utworach na tym wydawnictwie sprawiały wrażenie jakby się bardzo często powtarzały i były mało oryginalne. Dodatkowo cała jakość brzmienia, mix oraz mastering nie za bardzo ze sobą współgra. W sensie – instrumentalnie jest tutaj bardzo pięknie, wyraźnie słychać brzmienie riffów gitarowych (Jest ono tutaj o jasnej i ciepłej barwie, bardzo metaliczne) ale chodzi mi o brzmienie wokalu na tym albumie w stosunku do reszty instrumentów, ambientów na tej płycie. Moim zdaniem wokal na tym krążku jest zbyt cichy (dałbym go głośniej, i bardziej na przód, a tu brzmi jakby był przytłumiony i był gdzieś z tyłu za resztą instrumentów) ale to już są właśnie ostatnie według mnie minusy tej płyty. Przejdźmy teraz do dużych plusów tego materiału. Ironsword reprezentują bardzo klasyczny heavy metalem z brzmieniem z lat 80 i 90. To mi się bardzo podoba, ponieważ sam jestem fanem klasycznego i epickiego grania heavy metalu, a mniej lubię ten heavy metal z nowym brzmieniem, gdzie przewaga jest brzmienia komputerów, technologii w ustawieniach gitar itp. Gdy słuchałem ''Servants Of Steel'' – to do mojej głowy wpadły takie zespoły, które mogły być inspiracją dla Ironsword jak: Omen, Manilla Road, Manowar czy Battlerage (czuć te podobieństwa zwłaszcza w wokalu i partiach gitarowych podczas melodii i riffów) Na tym albumie jest kilka perełek, mam na myśli ciekawych melodii i riffów to jednak utwór numer jeden, który strasznie mi się spodobał na tym wydawnictwie to kompozycja numer 10, czyli "Black Colossus" – naprawdę świetna melodyka gitar, riffów i ogólnie harmonii gitarowej (trochę kojarząca mi się z taką jaka jest u Maidenów)
Podsumowując, jeśli jesteś fanem epickiego dobrego heavy metalu z lat 80 i 90 to ten album jest właśnie dla ciebie. Dodatkowo tym krążkiem mogą być bardzo zainteresowani fani – Conana Barbarzyńcy, ponieważ zespół bardzo często w swoich tekstach nawiązuje do historii i przygód tego bohatera.
