DEATH NÖIZE - 'Rites, Curses and Spells'
Death Nöize is a black/crust/thrash metal band hailing from Transylvania. They have emerged around 2012 and produced three full-length albums so far. Their recent production - 'Rites, Curses and Spells' was released on the 1st of September 2020, so we can say that this is a pretty fresh album. It features seven tracks, marking the time of 32 minutes, and was released on a single-sided 12" vinyl.
I listened to the album a few times, and I can surely say that this is top-level material - brutal, full of anger, creativity, and old-school black metal soul.

A transcendental-like intro in the 'Haunting Chant' is an ideal choice for a mystical beginning of a decent album.
'Rites, Curses and Spells ' is a release that resonates with an old-school black metal creative energy but at the same time, has a lot of modern touch to it.
The guitar riffs are incredibly catchy and grim characteristic. They weren't made the main hero of the day, but they had a vital role - accompanying and highlighting the outstanding vocals. They certainly brought dark, mystic, and profoundly evil imagery, which was overloaded with vintage, black metal visions.
The emotional + visions side of the release didn't disappoint me, what's more, the peaking point was in the 4th track - 'The Old Devil's Wine', which also happened to be my favorite one. Not because there's 'wine' in the title, but because it's very fast and furious, has the exact kind of vocals I like, and provokes a certain feeling in me, that reminds me of all the concerts I've been to and makes me relieve these times.
Summing up, 'Rites, Curses and Spells' is a neatly done bow-down to vintage, traditional black metal, with a few modern characteristics.
This is the exact kind of release, that will be appreciated by the older generation, as well as those that were born after the 2000s, and are rather used to more contemporary and experimental kind of extreme metal, which is now flooding the world of underground music.
Personally, I'm a big fan of this album, especially the old soul of it, which fits my preferences of old-school and raw extreme metal.

Ich ostatnia produkcja - „Rites, Curses and Spells” ukazała się 1 września 2020 roku, więc możemy powiedzieć, że jest to całkiem świeży album. Zawiera siedem utworów, oznaczających czas 32 minut i został wydany na jednostronnym 12-calowym winylu.
Płytę przesłuchałam kilka razy i na pewno mogę powiedzieć, że to materiał z najwyższej półki - brutalny, pełen złości, kreatywności i oldschoolowej black metalowej duszy.
Zobaczmy, czy DEATH NÖIZE przyciągnie twoją uwagę, tak jak zrobili to z moją.

Transcendentalne intro w „Haunting Chant” jest idealnym wyborem na mistyczny początek porządnego albumu.
„Rites, Curses and Spells” to wydawnictwo, które rezonuje oldschoolową, twórczą energią black metalu, ale jednocześnie ma w sobie wiele nowoczesnych muzycznych akcentów.
Riffy są niezwykle chwytliwe i ponure. Nie zostały one głównym bohaterem albumu, ale odegrały istotną rolę - akompaniując i podkreślając wybitny wokal. Z pewnością przyniosły mroczny, mistyczny i głęboko zły obraz, który był naładowany starymi, black metalowymi wizjami.
Emocjonalna i wizjonerska strona wydawnictwa nie zawiodła mnie, co więcej, punktem kulminacyjnym był czwarty utwór - „The Old Devil's Wine”, który również okazał się moim ulubionym. Nie dlatego, że w tytule jest wino, ale dlatego, że jest bardzo szybki i wściekły, ma dokładnie taki rodzaj wokalu, jaki lubię, i wywołuje we mnie pewne uczucie, które przypomina mi wszystkie koncerty, na których byłam i sprawia, że przeżywasz je jeszcze raz.
Podsumowując, „Rites, Curses and Spells” to zgrabny ukłon w stronę klasycznego, tradycyjnego black metalu z kilkoma nowoczesnymi cechami.
To dokładnie taki rodzaj wydawnictwa, który docenią starsze pokolenia, a także ci, którzy urodzili się po 2000 roku i są raczej przyzwyczajeni do bardziej współczesnego i eksperymentalnego gatunku ekstremalnego metalu, który zalewa teraz świat undergroundu.
Osobiście jestem wielkim fanem tego albumu, a szczególnie jego starej duszy, która pasuje do moich preferencji oldschoolowego i surowego ekstremalnego metalu.
