ÆTHERLEIB - "Untie my Heart from the Shackles of Grace"

ÆTHERLEIB graces the pages of MetalHellvolution once again.
This time the EP, which was released under the flag of Death Defier Productions, met my expectations and provided a hell better experience and musicianship.
We can notice that change in the cover art- toned color scheme, professionally drawn artwork already give a glimpse into more enjoyable and ambitious music.
With such a perfect into, which is the naked nun, we slowly dive into the occult rock music of ÆTHERLEIB.
On this EP we get a killer song right away - "Untie my Heart from the Shackles of Grace" is an outstanding track that shows us the true talent of the band, and additionally, it has the most catchy melodies out of the rest of the tracks.
The album starts off with this flawless song, which tells us that we can expect decent musicianship throughout the release - and we get it in 80%! - not so bad.
As in the previous EP, the instruments work perfectly together. They've got very symphonic riffs that collaborate wonderfully with sophisticated and elegant drum performance - the musical background surely proves that the band is extremely talented, knows how to deliver mood influential music, and has a damn huge potential, which is still yet to be uncovered.
What's more, the lyrics are, finally, on a very high-level! As we remember the last EP, the texts weren't ambitious at all, meanwhile here they really delivered great quality. Additionally, they tell a very occult and dark story and transfer you to a mystical world, that the EP created around itself.
Also, the vocals were improved and sounded way more dedicated to their work.
But a massive flaw emerged in the vocal side this time as well...
Namely, the male vocal performance didn't fit at all to the rather delicate sound of main vocals and higher scale of guitar riffs.
To be honest, they didn't ruin the record, they made it unpleasant to listen to at some points, but if you focus on the music, you'll be able to ignore them and not care about them at all.
I'm extremely glad that this EP jumped so many levels up and proved the band's talent. It was a decent performance with deeply mood influential moments, which transferred you to the 1980's world of underground occult rock.
Unfortunately, the only flaw here was the male vocals - they sounded out of place, and seemed added into the EP last minute.
In spite of this negative aspect, I think that ÆTHERLEIB did an outstanding job on this release, but so far, the band still hasn't uncovered its full potential and talent.
I'm patiently waiting for the next release, and can't wait to hear how they improved, what ideas they came up with, if it will be able to top "Untie my Heart from the Shackles of Grace".

ÆTHERLEIB po raz kolejny pojawia się na łamach MetalHellvolution.
Tym razem przeczytacie o EPce, która ukazała się pod banderą Death Defier Productions, oraz spełniła moje oczekiwania i zapewniła piekielnie dobre wrażenia i muzykę.
Możemy zauważyć, że zmiana kolorystyki okładki i profesjonalnie narysowana grafika już teraz dają wgląd w przyjemniejszą i ambitniejszą muzykę niż na poprzednim wydaniu.
Z taką perfekcyjną okładką, jna której jest ukazana naga satanistyczna zakonnica, powoli zanurzamy się w okultystyczną muzykę rockową ÆTHERLEIB.
Na tej EPce od początku zostajemy przywitani przez zabójczy utwór - "Untie my Heart from the Shackles of Grace" to wybitny kawałek, który pokazuje nam prawdziwy talent zespołu, a dodatkowo wyróżnia się najbardziej chwytliwymi melodiami spośród reszty utworów.
Album zaczyna się tym nieskazitelnym kawałkiem, który zapowiada nam, że możemy spodziewać się przyzwoitej muzyki przez całe wydanie - i otrzymujemy ją w 80%! - nie tak źle.
Podobnie jak w poprzedniej EPce, instrumenty doskonale ze sobą współpracują. Mają bardzo symfoniczne riffy, które wspaniale mieszają się z wyrafinowanym i eleganckim wykonaniem perkusji - zaplecze muzyczne z pewnością dowodzi, że zespół jest niezwykle utalentowany, wie, jak dostarczyć muzykę wpływającą na nastrój i ma cholernie ogromny potencjał, który jeszcze nie do końca pokazał.
Co więcej, teksty są wreszcie na bardzo wysokim poziomie! Jak pamiętamy ostatnią EP-kę, teksty wcale nie były ambitne, tymczasem tutaj naprawdę prezentowały świetną jakość. Dodatkowo opowiadają bardzo okultystyczną i mroczną historię i przenoszą do mistycznego świata, który EPka stworzyła wokół siebie.
Ponadto wokal został poprawiony i brzmiał o wiele bardziej na zaangażowany i zdeterminowany aby dorównać instrumentom.
Ale i tym razem po stronie wokalnej pojawiła się ogromna wada ...
Mianowicie męski wokal w ogóle nie pasował do raczej delikatnego brzmienia głównego wokalu i wyższej skali gitarowych riffów.
Szczerze mówiąc, nie zrujnował on płyty, ale w niektórych momentach sprawił, że słuchanie było nieprzyjemne, ale jeśli skupicie się na muzyce, będziecie w stanie je zignorować i wcale się nimi nie przejmować.
Niezmiernie się cieszę, że ta EPka podskoczyła tak wiele poziomów do góry i udowodniła talent zespołu. Był to bardzo przyzwoity materiał z momentami głęboko wpływającymi na nastrój, które przeniosły Cię w świat podziemnego rocka okultystycznego lat 80.
Niestety jedyną wadą były męskie wokale - brzmiały nie na miejscu i wydawały się dodane do EPki na ostatnią chwilę.
Pomimo tego negatywnego aspektu, myślę, że ÆTHERLEIB wykonał świetną robotę na tym wydawnictwie, ale jednak jak dotąd zespół nie odkrył przed nami w pełni swojego potencjału i talentu.
Cierpliwie czekam na kolejne wydawnictwo i nie mogę się doczekać, aż usłyszę, jak się poprawili, na jakie pomysły wpadli, i czy uda im się przebić „Untie my Heart from the Shackles of Grace”.
