The Norwegian black metal is all where it started. With time, the genre evolved, changed, and when sometimes some bands didn't take it seriously, FJØSNISSE did. This one-man-band preserves and honors that true soul of the battered genre...
With this older full-length album, we got something raw, cold, and brutal - a little bit different than the latest release. But nonetheless, FJØSNISSE amazed me once again, leaving me speechless because of the high level of the material - I'm glad I stumbled upon the band. How can only one person provide you such an unforgettable experience, while not being noticeable in the scene that much... I believe that FJØSNISSE's destiny is to be a new master of underground black metal since their work is one of the most advanced and new and old-school at the same time.
As we could expect the highest level of dedication from FJØSNISSE, we surely receive it, and it certainly can be heard through the utterly professional and old-school guitar riffs. Their cold sound resonates with a dungeon-like feeling, a very fast pace dictates the strict rules of raw black metal- true and inseparable characteristics that every decent and worth listening album should have.
With the outstanding riffs, we get a whole package- very fast and furious drums. I am a huge fan of how they were performed on the album- their brutality was loud and clear, but they also brought a very deep and meaningful feeling of the cold Norwegian Forest. When it comes to the vocals, to my ear they were very scratchy and resonated with pure pain. How they collaborated with the instruments proved to us that as long as you're focused and dedicated to the cause you can achieve anything you want.
If we were to talk about the mood of the release, well, I have to say that I was thoroughly satisfied with the feelings which I have received - FJØSNISSE once again provided me a rich experience of gloomy and obscure emotions. While listening to the album I found myself roaming in the cold and lonely forest, only surrounded by the sound of howling winds.
Some time ago I said that I will never ever again find a band that will grab my attention, and make me a slave to their music because there aren't any bands like that anymore. But somehow FJØSNISSE made that happen and now I can't get enough of their craft. I deeply admire how focused and dedicated Anders is, to create something that will satisfy picky black metal fans. How he keeps and preserves the original soul of this dark craft shows how much it means to him and how badly he wants it to stay strong, even though many bands nowadays tend to lower the level over the music.
With this album being done flawlessly I cannot write a long review, because I would have to keep repeating how great and spotless the release is. The only thing I can add is that if you really appreciate the old craft of black metal, you should support FJØSNISSE and its musical artworks.

Norweski black metal to wszystko, od czego się zaczęło. Z czasem gatunek ewoluował, zmieniał się, a kiedy czasami niektóre zespoły nie traktowały go poważnie, FJØSNISSE to robił za nich. Ten jednoosobowy zespół zachowuje i szanuje prawdziwą duszę tego jakże zmasakrowanego gatunku ...
Na tym starszym albumie dostajemy coś surowego, zimnego i brutalnego - trochę innego niż ostatnie wydawnictwo. Niemniej jednak FJØSNISSE ponownie mnie zaskoczyło, pozostawiając mnie bez słowa z powodu wysokiego poziomu materiału - cieszę się, że natknęłam się na ten zespół. Co mine wprawia w największy zachwyt to to, jak tylko jedna osoba może zapewnić tak niezapomniane wrażenia, jednocześnie nie będąc aż tak zauważalną na scenie ... Wierzę, że przeznaczenie FJØSNISSE polega na byciu nowym mistrzem undergroundowego black metalu, skoro jego praca jest jedną z najbardziej zaawansowanych i brzmiącom new-old-schoolowo w tym samym czasie.
Oczekując najwyższego poziomu poświęcenia od FJØSNISSE, z pewnością je otrzymamy i na pewno można to usłyszeć poprzez całkowicie profesjonalne i oldschoolowe gitarowe riffy. Ich zimne brzmienie rezonuje uczuciem przypominającym zimne lochy, a bardzo szybkie tempo dyktuje surowe zasady ostrego black metalu - prawdziwe i nieodłączne cechy, które powinien mieć każdy przyzwoity i warty słuchania album.
Dzięki znakomitym riffom otrzymujemy cały pakiet - bardzo szybkie i wściekłe bębny. Jestem wielką fanką tego, jak zostały wykonane na albumie - ich brutalność była głośna i wyraźna, ale przyniosły też bardzo głębokie uczucie zimnego norweskiego lasu. Jeśli chodzi o wokale, to jak na moje ucho, były bardzo szorstkie i rezonowały czystym bólem. To, jak współpracowały z instrumentami, pokazało nam, że dopóki jesteś skupiony i oddany sprawie, możesz osiągnąć wszystko, czego chcesz.
Gdybyśmy mieli opowiedzieć o nastroju wydawnictwa, cóż, muszę powiedzieć, że byłam w pełni usatysfakcjonowana odczuciami, jakie doznałam - FJØSNISSE po raz kolejny zapewniło mi bogate przeżycie mrocznych i niejasnych emocji. Słuchając albumu znalazłam się w zimnym i samotnym lesie, otoczona jedynie szumem mroźnego wiatru.
Jakiś czas temu powiedziałam, że nigdy więcej nie uda mi się znaleść zespołu, który zwróci moją uwagę i uczyni mnie niewolnikiem ich muzyki, ponieważ nie ma już takich aktów. Ale w jakiś sposób FJØNISSE sprawiło, że tak się stało i co więcej, teraz nie mogę przestać doceniać ich rzemiosła. Głęboko podziwiam, jak skupiony i oddany Anders tworzy coś, co zadowoli wybrednych fanów black metalu. To, jak zachowuje oryginalną duszę tego mrocznego zawodu, pokazuje, jak wiele to dla niego znaczy i jak bardzo chce, aby pozostał on silny, mimo że obecnie wiele zespołów ma tendencję do obniżania poziomu tej muzyki.
Z tym albumem wykonanym bezbłędnie nie mogę napisać długiej recenzji, ponieważ musiałabym ciągle powtarzać, jak świetne i nieskazitelne jest to wydawnictwo. Jedyne, co mogę dodać, to to, że jeśli naprawdę cenicie stare rzemiosło black metalu, powinniście wesprzeć FJØSNISSE i jego muzyczne dzieła.
