DARK WINTERS – 'Dark Winters' LP
Dark Winters is a German band representing Heavy / Doom metal and it is a really underground and independent music project (no connection with any record label). Climate while listening to this album, music genres such as Dungeon / Synth Ambient can be associated - which for fans of combining these sub-genres with metal music can be something very interesting and can be liked!
As soon as I fired up the first track on this album, the sound of guitar riffs, melodies, and vocal lines reminded me of bands such as: Running Wild, Black Sabbath, Dark Quarterer, and DoomSword. Really, Dark Winters musicians combine epic heavy metal with doom in a very interesting way. Interestingly, elements of ambients and retro/synth/dungeon inserts in some of the tracks were also used on this disc. As a result, they give a nice old-school overtone in the compositions. These are inserts associated with the music of my childhood - that is, from games to the pegasus platform! For most of this project I liked the songs: "Funeral Winds" "Planet X" "No Running Title" "Breaking The Spell" (where in the riffs you can feel the atmosphere of Black Sabbath, and Manilla Road) and the amazing ending and outro of this album, extremely climatic, last track on this album - "Blistering Cold"
To sum up, the music from Dark Winters is definitely not for all listeners and lovers of metal music, but for fans of underground heavy metal playing with the atmosphere of synth and ambient retro inserts, this CD can be a real gem! The album also deserves a huge plus in terms of the fact that when it comes to home recording - guitars, drums, bass, and vocals, everything sounds quite good and has its own characteristic sound and quality. In the music of Dark Winters, there is such a solemn pathos, even like a Viking one, which I give to this music that the Dark Winters style can also be classified into the Epic Heavy Metal genre.

Dark Winters to pochodzący z Niemiec zespół reprezentujący Heavy/Doom metal i jest to naprawdę undergroundowy i niezależny projekt muzyczny (bez powiązania z jakąś wytwórnią płytową) Chociaż całość utworów jest tu nagrana bardzo amatorsko to muzyka od Dark Winters według mnie ma naprawdę swój charakterystyczny i piękny klimat. Podczas słuchania tego albumu skojarzyć mogą się takie gatunki muzyczne jak Dungeon/Synth Ambient - co dla fanów połączenia tych podgatunków z muzyką metalową może być czymś bardzo interesującym i może się podobać!
Od razu kiedy tylko odpaliłem pierwszy utwór na tej płycie to brzmienie gitarowych riffów, melodii oraz linii wokalu skojarzyła mi się z takimi zespołami jak: Running Wild, Black Sabbath, Dark Quarterer i z DoomSword. Naprawdę muzycy Dark Winters bardzo ciekawie łączą epicki heavy metal z doomem. Ciekawie na tym krążku zostały zastosowane również elementy wstawek ambietnowy i jakby retro/synth/dungenowych w niektórych utworach. Przez to dają fajny oldschoolowy wydźwięk w kompozycjach. Są to wstawki kojarzące się z muzyką z mojego dzieciństwa – czyli z gierek na platformę pegasus! Najbardziej z tego całego projektu spodobały mi się utwory: „Funeral Winds” „Planet X” „No Running Title” „Breaking The Spell” (gdzie w riffach czuć jakby klimat Black Sabbath dodać Manilla Road) oraz niesamowite zakończenie i outro tego albumu, niezwykle klimatyczne czyli „Blistering Cold”
Podsumowując to muzyka od Dark Winters nie jest na pewno dla wszystkich słuchaczy i miłośników muzyki metalowej, ale dla fanów undergroundowego grania heavy metalu z klimatami synthowych i ambientowych retro wstawek. To CD może być naprawdę prawdziwą perełką! Na ogromny plus zasługuję ten album również pod względem tego, że jak na nagrywanie domowe – gitar, perkusji, basu i wokali to wszystko dość dobrze brzmi i ma swoje charakterystyczne brzmienie i jakość. W muzyce Dark Winters jest miejscami taki podniosły patos, wręcz jakby wikingowy, który nadaję tej muzyce tego, że styl Dark Winters można zaklasyfikować również do gatunku Epic Heavy Metalu.
