It's been eight years since that concert, and I still remember it very well. It was quite a cold night, but after the Russian heavy metallers played it got somehow warmer and the atmosphere became more energetic and atmospheric. I remember this event very well also because at this concert I met an interesting person - I greet you warmly from here, Tomek!
As I remember correctly I showed up in front of the "Proxima" club around 6:00 pm and interestingly enough, there weren't that many people at this concert. During the whole event, I think there were barely more than 100 people in attendance. It was actually quite strange, Aria for the first time in Poland and usually it's a musical formation that really plays in front of a lot of audiences, and here in Poland there are only a few fans of this "Russian Iron Maiden" as it is sometimes called Aria. On the other hand, everything also always has its advantages, because the whole concert took on more the form of such an intimate and cozy show - the possibility of the fans being very close to the band. Back then, I was in "Proxima" for the first time in concert and I really liked it. In my opinion, the sound system was quite good, and the atmosphere of the whole interior inside was perfect for me. During this gig, it was also great that before the concert you could talk to all members of the band at ease, take photos with them and get autographs from them (I also managed hehe and I have their autographs on the ticket and on my metal jacket) You could easily exchange words with Aria's guitarist - Vladimir Kholstinin, with the bassist and one of the main founders of the Aria band - Vitaly Dubinin, with the drummer Maxim Udalov, the band's second guitarist - Sergey Popov and the current vocalist of the band, i.e. Mikhail Zhitnyakov (previously, of course, in Aria, the vocalists were: Arthur Berkut, Alexey Bulgakov, and the great legend of Russian heavy metal, Valery Kipelov, but for me, every singer of Aria presents a really excellent voice and vocal workshop) Now it's time to go to the concert itself and Aria performance! What I liked the most about the performance of heavy metalists from Russia was that, in my opinion, they played with great power and energy for the Polish audience - I felt it. The setlist of this concert was also very successful in my opinion. We could hear the greatest songs of this formation. Such as: "Raskachayem Etot Mir" "Kreshchenye Ognyom" "Na Sluzhbe Sili Zla" "Shtil" "Geroy Asfalta" "Ulitsa Roz" or "Daj Zharu"! I also think that Polish fans of Aria deserve a lot of applause for how they greeted their musical favorites and how they interacted really well with the whole band throughout their show. Aria's musicians played with a banana in their faces, so I think they also remember their first concert in our country very well.
In the end, I think it is worth mentioning and thanking the people who contributed to welcoming Aria to our country and seeing them live in our own backyard! Od tego koncertu mija w sumie już 8 lat, a ja nadal go bardzo dobrze pamiętam. To była dość zimna noc, ale po tym jak rosyjscy heavy metalowcy zagrali od razu zrobiło się jakoś cieplej i atmosfera stała się bardziej energiczna i klimatyczna. To wydarzenie wspominam bardzo dobrze również dlatego, że na tym koncercie poznałem ciekawą osobę – pozdrawiam cię serdecznie stąd Tomek! Zaczynamy wspomnienie!
Jak dobrze pamiętam pod klubem "Proxima" pojawiłem się już koło 18:00 i co ciekawe na tym koncercie nie było aż tak dużo osób. Podczas całego wydarzenia myślę, że na publice było ledwo jakoś ponad 100 ludzi. To w sumie było dość dziwne, Ария po raz pierwszy raz w Polsce i zazwyczaj jest to formacja muzyczna, która gra naprawdę przed dużą publicznością, a tutaj w Polsce pojawiło się tylko kilku fanów tego „rosyjskiego Iron Maiden” jak bywa nazywana czasem Ария. Z drugiej strony wszystko ma też zawsze swoje plusy, ponieważ cały koncert nabrał bardziej formę takiego kameralnego i przytulnego widowiska – możliwość bycia fanów bardzo blisko ulubionego zespołu. Wtedy w "Proximie" na koncercie byłem w sumie też pierwszy raz i bardzo mi się tam podobało. Nagłośnienie według mnie było dość dobre, a i też klimat całego wnętrza w środku bardzo mi odpowiadał. Podczas tego gigu świetne było również to, że przed koncertem można było bardzo na luzie przy merchu porozmawiać ze wszystkimi członkami zespołu, zrobić sobie z nimi zdjęcia i zdobyć od nich autografy (mi też się udało hehe i mam ich autografy na bilecie, oraz na swojej katanie) Na spokojnie można było zamienić słówka z gitarzystą Arii – Vladimirem Kholstininem, z basistą oraz jednym z głównych założycieli zespołu Aria – Vitaly’m Dubininem, z perkusistą Maximem Udalovem, drugim gitarzystą zespołu – Sergey’em Popovem i obecnym wokalistą zespołu, czyli z Mikhail’em Zhitnyakovem (wcześniej oczywiście w Arii wokalistami byli: Arthur Berkut, Alexey Bulgakov, oraz wielka legenda rosyjskiego heavy metalu czyli Valery Kipelov, ale jak dla mnie każdy wokalista Arii prezentuję naprawdę znakomity głos i warsztat wokalny) Czas teraz przejść do samego koncertu i występu Arii! Najbardziej w występie heavy metalowców z Rosji podobało mi się to, że zagrali według mnie z wielką mocą i energia dla polskiej publiczności – wyczułem to. Setlista tego koncertu była moim zdaniem też bardzo udana. Mogliśmy usłyszeć największe utwory tej formacji. Takie jak: "Raskachayem Etot Mir" "Kreshchenye Ognyom" "Na Sluzhbe Sili Zla" "Shtil" "Geroy Asfalta" "Ulitsa Roz" czy "Daj Zharu"! Myślę też, że ogromne brawa należą się polskim fanom Arii jak znakomicie przywitali swoich muzycznych ulubieńców i jak przez cały ich show mieli naprawdę dobre interakcje z całym zespołem. Muzycy Arii grali z bananem na twarzy, więc myślę, że i oni bardzo dobrze wspominają swój pierwszy koncert w naszym kraju.
Jeszcze na końcu myślę, że warto wspomnieć i podziękować osobom, które przyczyniły się do tego, że mogliśmy przywitać Arię w naszym kraju i zobaczyć ich na własnym podwórku na żywo!
