When I heard this album, and I did not know yet that it is a music project from Poland, I was very surprised, because the sound of this album for 2017 in which it was released sounds more like the 80s, 90s which I associate with raw Norwegian black metal. Moreover, even at the beginning, I thought Nyctophilia was from Norway. Of course, all this is a plus, as Nyctophilia music is usually about death, darkness, and frost. It is a perfect fit for the sound of this material to be associated with Norwegian black metal. Cold and raw in its sound. Nyctophilia is a representative of Atmospheric / Depressive black metal from Poland. From the very beginning, people who are fans of black metal and albums of this genre will be very pleased if they like black albums where the pace, energy, and speed do not drop even for a moment and is continuous - from the beginning to the end of the disc. This is the case with Nyctophilia. On this album, energy and power don't drop even for a second. Of course, we have some slow-downs, ambient inserts, some keyboards, etc., but everything here harmonizes perfectly and goes very neatly from one track to another. I also associate the vocals with the characteristic growl we have in the Norwegian black. This vocal is sharp and very raw here. The sound of the guitars, bass, and drums is also nicely done as the volume levels between all the instruments are fairly even with each other. There are actually quite a few riffs on this album that are memorable, and the drum section is really fun to listen to. Especially when they enter everyone's favorite and characteristic for black metal - blasts. It's hard for me to choose a single track from this album, which is my favorite and stands out from the rest. In my opinion, you need to listen to all the material on this disc, because each track here is different, but at the same time as if everything was combined into a certain climatic whole. This album will surely appeal to all those who love the season - winter! The sound and atmosphere of the album have just reminded me of a cold night in the forest when it is snowing quite abundantly and you can see the moon breaking through the clouds and fog in the background behind the trees in the distance.
All in all, if you love the raw, spicy, and frosty sound of Norwegian black metal, this album is a must. This one-man black metal project from Poland, exactly from Kraków, really does a beautiful job. In total, the sound of this album reminds me of two black metal bands. It reminds me of Striborg from Australia and Xasthur from the United States (especially with his EP called 'A Darkened Winter') I heartily recommend Nyctophilie and the album 'Dwelling in the Fullmoon Light'

Kiedy usłyszałem ten album, a nie wiedziałem jeszcze, że jest to projekt muzyczny z Polski to byłem bardzo zaskoczony, ponieważ brzmienie tego albumu jak na 2017 rok w którym został on wydany brzmi bardziej jak na lata 80, 90 kojarzące mi się z surowym Norweskim black metalem. Ponadto nawet na początku myślałem, że Nyctophilia jest właśnie z Norwegii. Oczywiście to wszystko jest na plus, ponieważ muzyka Nyctophili jest zazwyczaj o: śmierci, ciemności i mrozie. To idealnie pasuję, żeby brzmienie tego materiału kojarzyło się właśnie z norweskim black metalem. Zimnym i surowym w swoim brzmieniu. Serdecznie zapraszam do swojej recenzji albumu 'Dwelling in the Fullmoon Light' Od Nyctophili.
Nyctophilia jest przedstawicielem Atmosferycznego / Depresyjnego black metalu z Polski. Już na samym początku osoby, które są fanami black metalu, oraz albumów z tego gatunku będą bardzo zadowoleni, jeżeli lubią blackowe albumy w których tempo, energia i szybkość nie spada ani na chwilę i jest ciągła – od początku do końca trwania krążka. Tak jest właśnie w przypadku Nyctophili. Na tym albumie energia i moc nie spada nawet na sekundę. Oczywiście mamy tutaj pewne zwolnienia, ambientowe wstawki, jakieś klawisze itp. ale wszystko tutaj ze sobą świetnie współgra i przechodzi bardzo zgrabnie jeden utwór w drugi. Wokal też mi kojarzy się w sumie z charakterystycznym growlem jaki mamy w norweskim blacku. Ten wokal jest tutaj ostry i bardzo surowy. Brzmienie gitar, basu i perkusji jest też fajnie zrobione, ponieważ poziomy głośności pomiędzy wszystkimi instrumentami są dość wyrównane pomiędzy sobą. Na tym albumie jest w sumie dość sporo riffów, które zapadają w pamięć, a i sekcję perkusji są naprawdę przyjemnie w słuchaniu. Zwłaszcza kiedy wchodzą ulubione przez wszystkich i charakterystyczne dla black metalu – blasty. Ciężko mi wybrać w sumie jakiś jeden kawałek z tej płyty, które jest moim ulubionym i wyróżnia się bardzo na tle pozostałych. Według mnie trzeba posłuchać całego materiału zawartego na tym krążku, ponieważ każdy utwór tutaj jest różny, ale jednocześnie też jakby wszystko łączyło się w pewną klimatyczną całość. Ta płyta na pewno przypodoba się tym wszystkim osobą, którzy kochają porę roku – zimę! Brzmienie i klimat płyty właśnie skojarzył mi się z zimną nocą w lesie, kiedy pada dość obficie śnieg i widać w tle za drzewami w oddali przebijający się przez chmury i mgłę księżyc.
Podsumowując, jeśli kochasz surowe, ostre i mroźne brzmienie norweskiego black metalu, to musisz zapoznać się z tym albumem. Ten jednoosobowy projekt black metalowy z Polski, dokładnie z Krakowa, naprawdę robi kawał pięknej roboty. Brzmienie w sumie tego albumu, kojarzy mi się jeszcze z dwoma black metalowymi zespołami. Kojarzy mi się ze Striborgiem z Australii, oraz z Xasthurem ze Stanów Zjednoczonych (zwłaszcza z jego EP-ką o nazwie 'A Darkened Winter') Serdecznie polecam Nyctophilie i album 'Dwelling in the Fullmoon Light'
